Folks from Intercept: Stick to your guns (andless version)
Vl3d replied to Pthigrivi's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
@Pthigriviwhat do you think about the trip planner? -
OP just wants matte paint.

(some) Tanks and trusses should be procedural step-wise by length.

Procedural Part Wishlist
Vl3d replied to poopslayer78's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Suggestions & Development Discussion
There are too many tanks and trusses parts.. it would be amazing, where possible, to make them procedural step-wise by length. -
It's going to get better. I agree that at this point KSP1 is by far the superior game. But let's see in 3-6 months..
-
It's a little hard to get excited knowing that playing the game will be more work than fun. Some of those bugs.. aiaiaiaia

The navigation direction symbols / icons look smooth. Pixelation is on purpose.
-
Just look at it!
-
There's no good reason to have pixelated icons for vessel types on the patch curves in map view. They look bad especially when scaled up by zooming.

First impression from Scott Manley's gameplay video.

The tutorials are nice and the voice is fine. Let's move on. -
We need to have a talk. I understand the artistic choice of having the game world be realistically depicted while the UI is representative of Kerbal technology with ASCII art and pixelated graphics and icons. I like the idea. But some of the graphics are too pixelated. Just look at the icons in map view. It hurts the eyes.

There's no MechJeb in the game for now. P.a.i.g.e is just the tutorial AI. And the image is from the game, it appears as a pop-up when you run out of fuel and states that you can revert the flight if you want to. I was not confirming anything, I'm just trying to make sense of everything. I might get it wrong a lot of the time, so that's why it's useful to correct me.

I guess MechJeb is called P.a.i.g.e ... probably it's the same AI that handles the simulation / tutorials. Later edit: It's just the tutorial helper AI.

Magnetic boots confirmed!
-
Also there's a boat launch site.
-
Also there's a boat launch site (the docks). Where you can launch rockets.. like boats!
-
Did you catch the notifications window? It has auto-timeout. This looks like an important feature for future systems.
-
Clouds and terrain look very pixelated from orbit. And also there's a bug when zooming in to the planet in map view.

KSP2 EA: Where is the Journey / Mission planner?
Vl3d replied to Vl3d's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
And we have a.. trip planner. Which is actually a Delta-V map. I was expecting... more. proper launch windows for all destinations (so we can launch directly to target instead of wasting time in orbit) the TWR you need to land atmospheric entry altitude / angle the correct altitude to deploy parachutes etc. And there doesn't seem to be any integration with other game systems. Maybe it will get populated progressively with more info when Science Mode is released and we're able to gather info through experiments.- 36 replies

Important to note - the ESA game was a debug build. That slows down a game considerably.

Kerbal Space Program 2 - Pre-Release Notes
Vl3d replied to Intercept Games's topic in KSP2 Dev Updates
This made me LOL. Kerbals vs Gremlins! @desert had a very good idea to integrate the Parts Menu icons in the Parts Manager (as vertical icons to the left of the list) - so the parts are grouped and we can easily find what we're looking for. Also I would add.. BAD: - the camera still clips underground - the (ship) icons in map view are too pixelated FEEDBACK: - have a setting to select between 5 seconds and 10 seconds countdown - make the ripple effect shows the point of interception in map view a little more transparent / smaller Thank you for your great work! -
You might want to see this menu.

No traveling between galaxies. Let's move on.
