Content Creators Early Access?
whatsEJstandfor replied to Cpt72Bug's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
I'm with Gilgamesh; I don't like the trend of communities moving away from forums to Discord. It's harder to have lengthy discussions, and it's harder for new people to search for old topics to see what's been discussed before. Back in my day, we had forums and IRC, and they each played very important but separate roles in an online community, and that's the way the LORD intended it. -
I think we've seen it a handful of times so far and I love it every time

I specifically meant the animation of the legs deploying. The little bit of shakiness as they stop just before lowering to their final configuration is *chef's kiss* If I had my druthers, I might add a touch of randomness to the length of each leg's animation, offsetting each one by a few frames to get some nice overlapping action

I adore the landing leg animations!

I don't know if it's relevant but that segment was filmed over 3 years ago (mentioned in the video itself, and it's probably from the same filming session here (at 1:27): Given the footage's age, in that it's pre-Intercept and therefore pre-scope-widening, I just don't buy that it represents anything that was in or planned to be in the game at the time -

We had better use Arecibo to send an updated messa... oh... oh -
Just a reminder that sonic booms don't just happen at the point the sound barrier is broken; they're generated constantly when a vehicle is over Mach 1. And they also wouldn't be heard by anyone in the vehicle since they're at the front of the Mach cone, and the sound in their wake can't reach them. In terms of gameplay, unless you had a camera sitting on the ground and did a flyby over it, hearing a sonic boom wouldn't be realistic.

I just tried mocking that up but it looks like gibberish. There's also that all-black row bifurcating the dots, which you'd need to disregard in order to put all the dots on the same row, so I don't think that's right -
I think they mean this portion: I don't know how it's built but it does look like some geometry sticking out of some other geometry, idk

LET'S GOOOOO Also, would it be improper if you were to tell us what kind of specs the computer that generates these clips has?

Shelter, nutrition, air, clothing, ketchup, sleep If anyone else can think of a better K-word, no you can't. Turns out very few useful words start with K. Maybe kettle (to make tea?)

Save compatibility and early access
whatsEJstandfor replied to Robin Patenall's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Nate said in the recent PC Gamer interview that forward compatibility is certainly a goal, but he's not making any promises (12:40 in this video): -
What, and I cannot stress this enough, the h*ck

For weight limits on the runways and pads, it'd be cute if there wasn't a hard limit prior to upgrading, but rather that a vehicle heavier than the rated weight capacity has a chance to totally wreck the launch surface. Like, you try to take off from the pad, and the whole structure collapses and knocks your rocket off-axis, and you need to try to recover from it. idk im just spitballing

Small Christmas themed gameplay clip
whatsEJstandfor replied to MARL_Mk1's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
The most significant thing to me, as @Vl3d pointed out, is that it now says Alpha Gameplay, instead of Pre-Alpha :O
