  1. Many congratulations on 1.11! You guys are amazing and we can not begin to offer enough gratitude for the amazing talents and interests that you have shared (and obviously still intend to continue to share e.g. BDB 2.infinity). Congratulations and again, thank you.
  2. Well, we will hope that things port well into KSP2 and that we can keep the project going. The work here is amazing and it would be fabulous if it works there too!
  3. Feel free to say that again for the rest of us. I think someone looked a little long at the post-shuttle triple SRB design.
  4. Indeed you haven't. If the people who made decisions had been thinking we may have had something like this for the reusable/return things to earth side of the US Space program. I for one would like to have seen a continued use of the Saturn series....and a shuttle for things like Hubble or other satellites that would warrant retrieval/repair/upgrades and that is without discussing modular stations... I'll take two! Recoilless would be the best bet. And sure, why not if you download the major armory mod.... Now, I just need someone to tell me how soon NASA can't bet Amazon to ship a set of Darts. It seems they broke their only one....
  5. Check the unofficial wiki for bluedog... Pretty sure there are examples of builds for them. Great resource there. https://github.com/friznit/Unofficial-BDB-Wiki/wiki/Satellites#probes-plus Edit: ok, looks like probes plus parts. That is a good one too!
  6. He is right about picking stuff up quick. It doesn't really matter what it is, if you have the passion to do something and spend the time on something- you can make amazing creations.
  7. Mixing space exploration musings with Firefly TV series anniversary. Thats part of the theme song from the show. Yes, an obscure referance....but hey, if we didn't geek; we wouldn't be in BDB forum.
  8. There is also the "what if congress didn't explicitly emphasize shuttle derived". There is a lot to point to NASA having been more interested in an F1B stack after Constellation. But when certain groups lobby congress to keep their current iteration in the process, you kinda kill the ground up proposals.
  9. So, getting back to this. KSP TOT looks kinda heavy since it requires MATLAB. So, sell me on why to use it over porkchop plots for JNSQ. We don't have the plethora of streamers covering mods these days like the good old days...
  10. 17meters or 55.8 feet at base. The whole thing is tapered so, gets a little tricky to answer. Oh, and that is predetonation. Since altitude and downrange velocity varied at their failure.... Lets just say they got pretty wide after their RUDs.
  11. Thankfully congress ensured that it would never be a REAL (ugly) rocket. Although I do hold much against that congress and several since.
  12. Well, that isn't always the case. Travel can make for lots of planning time. I hope it doesn't turn into THAT sort of trip though. And just a mention of planned MORL and Voyager Mars warms the heart. In ways I think KSP lends mire to the addition of 'paper project's better than any other sim game.
  13. Aware of NTRS; but sadly the timeframe that I really like to get ahold of tends to be lacking. Also, there is so much stuff that NTRS doesn't cover since it was contractor ideas.... but when it is paid for by tax dollars and as old as I am looking for (Gemini to early shuttle period) I don't see why that stuff is not covered other than the "if we pull it from public domain we can sell it!" ideas.
  14. Stock scale if you want the weight bloat of kerbalism (shielding AND life support) or 2.5/2.7 without work great.
  15. Made it about half way through. Really like the look of the new buffalo.
  16. Any updates on Viking? -Sanity starts at KSP load completion. Unknown
  17. So for ETS crowd here- where would you put the docks for MMUs on a skylab/spacelab type or the EOSS....if you play with those. And yes, asking for both logical and aesthetic reasons.
