What happened to increased communication?

I agree with you, I’m just saying beating a dead horse won’t make it alive again. -
What happened to increased communication?
Icegrx replied to DoomsdayDuck555's topic in KSP2 Discussion
This entire post has become pointless, it’s the same loop of conversation over and over with the words slightly tweaked. This post holds no value for the team itself. Nothing positive will happen from repeating one’s selves like a broken record. I get excited when I see activity in the discussions thread, and then all that excitement disappears when I see that it’s this post with the activity. I am also disappointed, but venting here is not constructive anymore. I was upset when the eclipse post got locked, but I totally see why it happened and think it’s time to lock this one up as well. -
There’s plenty of KSP1 weapon mods, there’s no backlash. If you want to keep your game peaceful you simply don’t download those mods. No one is forcing mods on anyone, so no one has a right to complain really.

Once again Mr. BechMeister you have given me the itch to play KSP2! It seems everytime I get burned out on this game, shorty after you post a mission update and I crave some KSP2 again. the bugs you encountered are disheartening, I was so excited to see that huge ship docked to one of your stations! Oh well.. It was very satisfying coming full circle with you, and seeing your stations come into play with the minimus mission, that was excellent. I would love to know the part count of your main ship + KG02, it’s probably off the charts. I also think sending your save file to the developers could provide some really useful insight into performance and the engine itself as you are seriously pushing the limits here. @Dakota @Nerdy_MikeI think you should seriously read over this mission log as well as the Mun Fuel Station Mission. If you haven’t already. These two missions are what Kerbal Space Program are all about! Not only when it comes to pure enjoyment and inspiration, but also the performance, bugs and pushing the game to its limits, there’s a lot to be learned here. These are the things that keep me coming back to KSP2 and I don’t think I’m alone. @BechMeister has pulled off colonies before it’s even released. The builds are amazingly creative, the missions are captivating and the roleplay and attention to detail are excellent.

There would be no “backlash” you either install a mod or you don’t. So what was the point of all this?

T2 interactive layoffs
Icegrx replied to Majorjim!'s topic in KSP2 Suggestions and Development Discussion
I’ve read 4-5 articles from the last 12 hours and not one of them mentioned layoffs specific to PD I think you are assuming, or confusing the new announcement with the layoffs that happened in 2023. furthermore, the project cancelations seem to be concentrated on unannounced games. -
I’ve waited over a decade for Star Citizen…. still waiting, RIP

What happened to increased communication?
Icegrx replied to DoomsdayDuck555's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Since you don’t have to open steam to actually play KSP2 it’s hard to draw any useful information from this. I have less than 6 hours logged, yet I’ve dumped at least 200+ hours into KSP2 -
What are your suggestions for KSP2 development?
Icegrx replied to Meecrob's topic in KSP2 Discussion
I’ve stated this before in a more long winded detailed version, but I’ll sum it up here. the developers have their own vision for KSP2, and it will be hard pressed to change that vision. This I can accept. We can provide topics of focus, we can present issues that we would like to see get more attention, but we aren’t going to change the main trajectory… with that being said. Id like to see updates broken into smaller, more manageable chunks. Do we need the entire Colonies update all at once? I believe it would be much healthier and palatable to the community to release these largely ambitious updates into parts. Smaller more frequent updates. Gives us more of a chance to see how the development is going, gives us more chance to provide feedback on bugs and changes we would like to see. -
I went back in time and loaded up Oblivion again. I’ve 100%’ed the game back in the day, kinda excited to do it all over again. It’s been over a decade!

What happened to increased communication?
Icegrx replied to DoomsdayDuck555's topic in KSP2 Discussion
It’s a bit of both. I see people yelling about the CM making a post rather than “updating the game” which is silly as the CM has nothing to do with the development itself. Those are 100% personally aggrieved people. I’ve also seen people post really in depth bug reports, very well thought out development ideas, and very valid criticism with details. These people typically get labeled as grandstanders and “standing on a soapbox” as with everything in life, it’s not black and white. -
What happened to increased communication?

I don’t see this as a great comparison. yes Cyberpunk fell short of its initial promises, and lacked a few features that I should have had. However, even during its rocky release, Cyberpunk had 10x the playability that KSP2 currently has. Not to mention a full story, voice acting, AAA graphics and released on multiple platforms. They also kept communication way up, and were pretty darn transparent while rebuilding community trust and implementing promised features. KSP2 currently plays like an incomplete test demo. -

K.E.R.B. Report Update
Icegrx replied to Dakota's topic in KSP2 Suggestions and Development Discussion
Gotcha, wasn’t sure If the counter started since the last K.E.R.B, or if it started from this update. -

K.E.R.B. Report Update
Icegrx replied to Dakota's topic in KSP2 Suggestions and Development Discussion
So, it’s been about a month now since our last K.E.R.B. Report. Do we have an ETA? -
What happened to increased communication?

Which is incredibly frustrating, because in this case the community has invested money into the games future. we are the investors -

What happened to increased communication?
Icegrx replied to DoomsdayDuck555's topic in KSP2 Discussion
I’m no longer disappointed, and now I’m mad. “How to wreck a communities trust 101” A company wouldn’t treat their investors like this, nor should they treat early adopters like this. Im out for awhile. Might check in monthly -
I’ve built all of these besides interstellar ships, have not had a problem with wobble in any of these situations. the one exception I’ve found is with some larger wings when I’m not careful to what it’s mounted on. They can fall off if you aren’t careful. Has yet to stop me from building any particular craft. when scaling up the part count, the biggest performance dive for me is when multiple fuel sources are involved. Especially when splitting multiple fuel sources into multiple engines or RCS. I don’t see this as an auto strut issue, rather a general performance issue. Once the game gets a few more optimization passes I believe auto struts will be negligible on frame rate.
-
Starting to see why the team gets more and more quiet as time goes on.
-
It’s fixed. The mechanic works extremely well in the context of the issue. “Falling back on auto struts” - yes they fixed the issue with a simple solution that was already present in game. That’s not falling back on anything. There’s definitely criticism to be had of KSP2, but if you beat them up continuously over a past issue that’s been resolved, how are you ever going to look to the future? Conversations like these derail the criticism in an un meaningful way. We should be talking bout current issues and current bugs.

F-15A + Air-Launched, Anti-Satellite (ASAT) Missile
Icegrx replied to Heretic391's topic in The KSP2 Spacecraft Exchange
Now this is super cool. smash that missile into a satellite now!!!!! -
From my understanding CommNet is omitted in KSP2 as a decision to make the game more approachable. I think a simple option to enable commNet or disable it would solve the approachable issue, but they say it’s not a current priority. it very well could be a performance thing buried under the veil of “easier for new players” but I don’t think we will ever know the answer to that unless they change their mind on the priority thing.
