Noted! All right, we'll add it to the official KF songlist - - - Updated - - - Very few. Alarm clock, KER, EVE with Astronomer's Visual Pack, and I just added Texture Replacer so that the helmets will come off when in IVA. That scansat is stock - - - Updated - - - Thank you! I've been using PowerPoint at work for about 20 years, and am just cutting and pasting pieces of screenshots.

[11/26/15 Update] Say Hello to the Light-Green Group!
Mister Dilsby replied to Endersmens's topic in Kerbal Network
Wanted to take the occasion of my fourth bar (whoo!) to say something. I've seen a few posts recently very critical of this thread, and Upsilon specifically, for celebrating people with high rep. Yes, it's fake Internet points. Yes, you can get them by doing silly things like post in certain rep-generating threads. But to get a LOT of rep, like the top names on this list, you have to consistently provide the members something of rep-worthy value. And that's what the LGG is all about. Upsilon doesn't just list the people with the most fake Internet points, he takes the time to note what each person did to get those points. Some write mods, some ARE Mods, some help with physics, and some just entertain. I think LGG motivates people to be better Forum citizens, and in my case it was part of the push to make my comics. I didn't start getting bars until I provided a service that forum-goers value. Getting more bars tells me I'm doing something right, and for this I am very grateful. And today, four! -
Not a coincidence - - - Updated - - - You would love tvtropes.org, if you've never been there. (Warning: infinite time suck!) Love the song, a couple of words I need to look up though Turns out there is no Kerbfleet cavalry branch. Closest thing we have is the KSMC (Kerbfleet Surface Mobility Corps) Technically a branch of the Space Service, they specialize in piloting rovers. ETA: "From the rolling hills of Du-u-na, to the shores of Laythe's seas...", etc.

Oh yes, of course she does--but for some reason she had the "nervous kerbal" look in the Hitchhiker... I guess she must be worried about getting into trouble with M. Dilsby.- - - Updated - - - Isn't it though? A useful tag to help differentiate 'navy' personnel like Dilsby and Gregmore from Air Service types like Jeb and Tedus. One of these days if I want to get some infractions, I'll ask Mister Geschosskopf to supply me some real Navy words.

I made this in response to a question posted by Xyphos--pilots have a special place to sit (all the various command modules), and so do scientists (the MPL) But what about engineers? Here's your answer--Kerbfleet Engineering proudly presents the ISRUK (In Situ Resource Unit, Krewed). It weighs 250 kilos more than the stock ISRU and fits one Kerbal but does not function as a command module. It also has no hatch; you'll have to get in and out of it by crew transfer, or load the engineer in the SPH/VAB. The IVA view is the same as the old 0.90 Mk1 Inline Cockpit--which in this context, finally makes sense! Kerbfleet not responsible for damage to ships or crew due to ethanol poisoning. Part is available here on Dropbox, I think if you make an ISRUK folder with those three files in it anywhere in GameData it should work.

Who else loves seeing the little "Notifications" tab lit up?
Mister Dilsby replied to Starwhip's topic in Kerbal Network
Sometimes...when I post a new comic...I let the mouse hover over 'notifications' for a while so it's lit up and then I can stop refreshing every 15 seconds to see if anyone likes the page. #confessyourforumsins -
- - - Updated - - - D'accord, but I liked the sound of 'vive!' better than the literal translation. Anyway, that's what they all yell at l'École Polykerbique, and I`m sticking with it. - - - Updated - - - I don`t know that game, but am I to understand they kicked you off the server for yelling "vive la science!" too loud? If so, Yukon, you are my hero! See, if you'd yelled "pour la science!" instead, it wouldn't have been nearly as badS

Yup, that's exactly what I did for the "Kerbahashi Maru" bridge simulator. Bill's station has the KER equipment, and of course that's Bob in front of the science console. Might look cool on a large ship to have a separate 'main engineering' room, with half of the ISRU clipped through the floor like a generator.
-
Thanks! Good thing I saw this thread AFTER launching the craft for Eve, otherwise the comic would be nothing but page after page of space shanties ending in a terminal explosion. Not sure if the ISRUK will ever become standard Kerbfleet equipment...I suppose I would also have to add booze hydrazine as a Resource, and somehow get it to work in RoverDude's Life Support mod. xD
-
Can't blame the flight engineers, this was all Kuzzter's fault!- - - Updated - - - Kerbfleet's motto, often shouted upon planting a flag on a new body, is "For Kerbfleet! For Science!" This is how I suppose a French Kerbal might say the same thing - - - Updated - - - Well we wouldn't want the comic to become boring, would we? My English teacher taught me there are several kinds of conflict in fiction. I don't remember them all, but I think some of the main ones are Kerbal vs. Malfunctioning Equipment, Kerbal vs. Orbital Mechanics, and Kerbal vs. Annoying Other Kerbal.... or something. See, this is why I became an engineer and not a writer. That, and engineers get paid sometimes.

Bwahahaaaaa, I did it! The ISRUK (In Situ Resource Unit, Krewed) weighs 250 kilos more than the stock ISRU. It fits one Kerbal but does not function as a command module. The IVA view is the same as the old 0.90 Mk1 Inline Cockpit--which in this context, finally makes sense! To have one of your very own, all you need to do is: 1. Go to Gamedata/Squad/Parts/Resources 2. Copy the folder ISRU and paste it somewhere else in Gamedata (e.g. to Gamedata/Fubar or whatever) 3. Rename the folder you just pasted and the documents in from ISRU to ISRUK (/ISRUK, ISRUK.cfg, ISRUK.mu) 4. Replace the text of ISRUK.cfg with the following using a text editor: PART{ name = ISRUK module = Part author = Kuzzter mesh = ISRUK.mu scale = 1 rescaleFactor = 1 node_stack_top = 0.0, 1.5, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0, 2 node_stack_bottom = 0.0, -1.5, 0.0, 0.0, -1.0, 0.0, 2 CrewCapacity = 1 TechRequired = advScienceTech entryCost = 24000 cost = 8000 category = Utility subcategory = 0 title = ISRU Converter Krewed manufacturer = Kerbfleet description = This mobile processing plant can take raw materials containing even trace amounts of oxygen and hydrogen, and crack them into useful fuel products. Using code tag in the meantime.

And here it is-- three of 'em, in fact! Really, I should have known better. I'm an engineer IRL and I never send a real product out the door with this many screwups...well, not usually. Anyway, I attribute much of it to being distracted by the Duna mission, and of course making that comic. I recall I threw these ships together pretty quickly to hit the launch window for Eve, and wanted to get it done and not miss more than a few days of comic updates. But fortunately I think everything will work out, thanks to me ignoring Evestation's TWR and packing it full of LF before it left LKO. All ships are in the Eve system now; status of the Evestation and Alouette miner you can see here. The Dipperkraft is just going to have to wait, it's in a somewhat elliptical orbit with only 75 m/s in the tank. Poor Bob and Tedus! - - - Updated - - - I have not... honestly I don't know where it's going to land either, I sent it on a high speed intercept and couldn't be bothered to check whether it has enough dV to slow down once it gets there. Will have to look at the list... ETA: Can't find it. Am intrigued. Mad, can you give a link please?

Don't worry mój przyjaciel, here is the handy guide for non-romance-language types quelle belle planete='what a beautiful planet!" The update title of "la kerballe qui murmurait a l'orielle des robots" literally = "the (female) kerbal who whispers in the ear of robots" which is how folks in the movie business might translate a title like "The Robot Whisperer".

Here's an idea...should not be hard to mod an ISRU converter to have a crew capacity of one and put the engineer inside. For IVA, I recommend the old v0.90 Mk1 inline cockpit (view of a steel bulkhead and nothing else).

Ha, good use/abuse of reaction wheels, Bob! And very honored to see another author following (mostly ) the official-but-unpublished Kerbfleet Graphic Novel Style Guide Keep it up, Gamer! -

Nope, plenty to do in the meantime--Evestation will just have to accept that the lab and reaction wheels will go offline whenever they pass into shadow. Hopefully that's the only thing I forgot on these ships! OK no it isn't, I have played ahead of this a bit - - - Updated - - - ...and I should mention that while the probes' control interfaces do have 'personality', there is no real AI or autopilot. Kerbfleet General Order 50 forbids the installation of Mechjeb on any vessel (and don't start THAT discussion here please--Kerbfleet General Order 51 forbids judging other peoples' space programs!) Also related, Kerbfleet General Order 65: "No Kerbfleet officer shall acquire, or attempt to acquire, a clone army.") - - - Updated - - - Thanks! More on the way--things are getting a little complicated with three crewed ships arriving in various orbits with various fuel situations. (p.s. Bob was right!) Mr. Dilsby is going to have his work cut out for him in the next few pages.

Three more pages, two more ships into the Eve system! - - - Updated - - - The asteroid field may make it a useful stopover point to and from Jool, I think that was a very nice addition in 1.x. - - - Updated - - - Indeedy. My first thought was to just hit atmosphere with the shell still on, but 'simulations' showed that the shell offered little protection. That meant I had to use the whole transfer stage to capture, which meant that I had to eject the shell to get to the descent stage--so, no protection at all! It would certainly have burned up without judicious use of the decent engine. - - - Updated - - - Thanks! And now here are some more probes for you The BattBot is on a fast track to Eve, dipping nearly to Moho's orbital radius in order to arrive in 185 days.
