Thank you, but the sticky honor was for the Duna comic being a 'thread of the month' for July. There will be a new stickied thread for August, for another deserving fanwork

Do you feel cheaty using reaction wheels?
Mister Dilsby replied to BlueCanary's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Nope. Not at all. Why would I? -
I have some 'reserved' action group assignments due to that one time I tried to extend solar panels on a station, and accidentally triggered the VTOL system in a ship that was docked to it. Now I always use: 1--toggle jets #1 2--toggle jets #2 3--toggle jets #3 OR RAPIER mode switch 4--toggle intakes 5--toggle rockets 6--toggle VTOL system 7--anything that doesn't fire an engine or a decoupler 8--anything that doesn't fire an engine or a decoupler 9--anything that doesn't fire an engine or a decoupler 0--activate science experiments Which means for example that if a ship has no jets, AG1, AG2, AG3 and AG4 can't be used.

Yes indeed. And this is why Bob will always come around to do what's right for the program. He didn't just find that orange suit in a second-hand store! - - - Updated - - - Thank you! It's fun to do on this end, so I'm glad you like it. - - - Updated - - - Me too. Honestly, doing these comics would be impossible if it weren't for the incredibly expressive but simple Kerbal reactions built into the game.

And as the Hummlebee crew takes a long nap between maneuvers "Bill One" and "BillTwo", we are back to the Bob and Tedus show! And now that Bob's gotten all that off his chest, we'll move on to the other four members of the Eve team.

Welcome back! You are starting to convince me to install these planets, can't wait for the snapshots. Maybe there'll be an update to put a 'heart' and a couple of mountain ranges on Polta before you get there

SSTO to laythe and beyond
Mister Dilsby replied to panzer1b's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Very nice! Are you using the RAPIERS in airbreathing/LF only mode, or are you also running them closed cycle (and carrying some oxidant) for the push out of atmosphere before the nuke takes over? I am just starting to play with the 2-RAPIER 1-LVN config but so far have been running the RAPIERS as jet only (and getting to LKO with 1700 m/s on the first try ) -

Interesting notes on the landing, too bad you couldn't re-create the crash and kudos for trying to "let it stand" rather than take advantage of the reload and get down safely -
"Duna, Ore Bust!" -- a KSP Graphic Novel (COMPLETE)
Mister Dilsby replied to Mister Dilsby's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
And makes the author end the chapter in the wrong spot Really, we need to go a bit further--it wouldn't do to start a new chapter, then almost immediately have to leave the Hummlebee again as it coasts in solar orbit and the crew goes into hibernation. So this does make for a longish chapter, but I don't think anyone will mind So yeah, I think it will work, and it really does save a lot of time. Other option was go really, really low, almost to Moho's orbit, which would have brought Hummlebee home in only 165 days--but at a ridiculous intercept velocity. Pre-1.0.4, I would have just aimed for the atmosphere to slow down, but we all know better than that now don't we?- 598 replies

You should talk, posting such drivel online instead of figuring out who I am, where I live, coming to my house and leaving your message in the form of burning gasoline letters on my front lawn. Cheater.

"Duna, Ore Bust!" -- a KSP Graphic Novel (COMPLETE)
Mister Dilsby replied to Mister Dilsby's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Thanks! As I recall certain readers were looking forward to seeing the Kerbfleet lyrics for that particular one - - - Updated - - - Yeah I agree, but I don't have a good image in the Eve comic yet that I can make a banner out of--once I do, I'll replace the old Eve Rocks and KPrize badges with that.- 598 replies

So anyway... And so back we go to the Eve mission for a while, while I plot some wacky orbits and see if I can make good on Bill's idea- 598 replies

"Duna, Ore Bust!" -- a KSP Graphic Novel (COMPLETE)
Mister Dilsby replied to Mister Dilsby's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Whoops! Corrected the spelling, thank you for pointing it out, and you get a 'no-prize'! (it would come with rep, but I need to 'spread it around' ) - - - Updated - - - Exactly right on all counts. I did consider that the first jolt would have slammed Lisa down into her seat, but much more important is the well-known fact that the head is the second funniest place for a comic character to get hit. Kerbal anatomy doesn't seem to feature the first funniest place, so there you have it. Anyway, yeah--whatever happened after that to give her that bump was not worth extra panels. Nich gets a 'no-prize' for helping me out on this one.- 598 replies

Appreciate that, thanks! I will be sure to not make too many of those requests

Is it possible to change or delete a poll after it's been added to a thread? Asking because I might want to put a poll on one of mine, but as the thread is a long term mission report the poll would become old news at some point, and I would want to remove it or replace it with a new one. Thanks mods!
-
- - - Updated - - - Heh...if I was sure you could remove/change/add a poll (because I might want a different one later) I would add a "Bob or Tedus?" question to the thread

Moho is a very hard nut to crack. I've never managed it myself without cheating on fuel, and haven't tried it yet since 1.x. If you just want another ribbon, go to Eeloo. If you want an accomplishment, Moho.

Nice, really like the look of your crafts--congratulations on the orbit! When screenshots come out too dark, you can always put them through your machine's basic native photo editor and turn up the brightness a bit. That's saved a few of my otherwise unpostable ones. -
Say Hello to the White Bar Group!
Mister Dilsby replied to Mad Rocket Scientist's topic in Kerbal Network
Well... your rep is still your rep, right? The only possible confusion I can think of is in knowing where one 'ranks' relative to others in the Forum. I'll be the first to admit that this is something I've paid attention to. When my comic started taking off and I began accumulating a lot of rep, I would check to see if I had broken the top 100, or moved up a page in the rep-ordered user list, etc. Now that some of the really great and well-known members like RIC and Regex have taken themselves out of the running, I no longer know where I stand--and for me, that's been better! Getting rep motivates me; when I post a page and that little tab lights up with a bunch of notifications, it tells me my work made people happy. When a page doesn't get repped, I know I need to work a little harder. And as I climbed the ranks I would look at the list and say "wow, I have more rep than [really great guy who I respect a lot]! I must be doing something right!" BUT--that way, for me, lies madness. I realized I was going the wrong way when I saw something cool another user had done, and just for a second hesitated clicking the star because it meant it would put that user further above me. Just for a second, mind you--but I did not at all like the way that attitude looked on me. So, by messing up the reputation rank order, WBG has helped get me out of the mode of caring about OTHER people's rep, and back to just having fun in the game, sharing that fun on the Forum, and hopefully making other people's KSP experience more enjoyable.
