Exactly! Plan Kappa-Gene can expect to receive an invoice from Kerbfleet-Mort once we get your Jeb safely home. We accept cash, check or interdimensional wire transfer. And we'll be sure to have Deeman draft a clause so the bill's payable even after your planet explodes.

Um... you may need to catch up a bit Kenlie has been up to space and back several times since then, most recently landing just offshore of KSC in the Quadhammer and being recovered (see last page of Chapter 3, earlier in this thread). The ship in this most recent update is a Gliido 7LR, the two-seater extra fuel variant--single stage to Munar orbit in about 10 hours. I believe Kenlie last flew a Gliido (the 7P six-seater variant) in an Eve: Order Zero interlude. Tedus also piloted a 7P near the end of that book. And now that the thread is all OHMAGERD CROSSOVAHHHHH! I think I can remove the spoiler tag ETA: Or did you mean how long did it take Jeb to get to the Mun? Well, that Jeb has never been to this Mun or anyplace else in the Kerbfleet universe before, so it's really hard to answer. This was his last known position before ending up here.

Where did this strange new Jeb come from? Why from here, of course! Thanks to the amazing @Parkaboy for loaning me his Jeb, and for setting this up so brilliantly well! Both of us were saddened by this morning's news and are dedicating our crossover to the memory of David Bowie and his music. Oh, and better get @PotentiallyHabitable578 a cookie. Or... something. I think Parkaboy and I both got more than a little nervous when we saw him guess on the Plan Kappa thread that Jeb had indeed gone over to the Kerbfleet universe. Well, no harm done, you can all put away your tinfoil hats--and I'll put mine on so I can think of a way to get this Jeb out of my 'verse before something REALLY bad happens!

The Saga of Emiko Station - Complete
Mister Dilsby replied to Just Jim's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Oh yes, messing with completely unknown technology. This will certainly end well! -
Wouldn't that be a trip? Nah, with Jeb's luck he'd end up in orbit around Kerbulus, just in time to get torpedoed/agonied/anomalized to death

The facepalm and some other nice Mort faces all come from @nightingale's animation project, which he was kind enough to share with me. The assembly is a few hundred thousand kerbucks right now, but I still haven't installed the engineering and science section, living quarters, life support etc. Or the boosters to go to orbit. Or the landers. I'm guessing the whole thing will cost at least a couple of million. Don't tell Mort!

Good day in the shipyards today. All I'll say right now, is Bill's got a lot of NERV trying to build a ship that huge... <-- (glasses for radiation)

You're right--OK, looked a little further: there may be yet a third trope that fits even better, from the Airplane! page:
-
Aha! That's one of the few tropes pages I've never been too, thanks! Though on researching it I wonder if that was more of a What's a Henway? The Airplane "What is it?"--"That's not important right now" gag does appear as examples in both tropes, but I think that since the "What's a Henway?" involves a pun and the "Mathemetician" does not, I am leaning toward the former. What do you think, 'Squid? And thanks for the contribution
-
Well all right (though my understanding was that they had also failed to include double magazine locks in the turrets), just as long as if it happens Admiral Shirley can turn to her flag captin and say, "There seems to be something wrong with our bloody ships today!"

Eek! And hopefully the [REDACTED] is not full of explodium like the British battlecruisers of that era! Oh yes, we'll see where we are with all ships docked and thrusting--but I tend to be pretty efficient w.r.t. part count, so hopefully it'll be OK. Since it's the weekend, I'll 'helpfully' paste the Tropes section from the Canon thread: Armor-Piercing Question: Deeman Kerman asked a lot of these during the trial in Eve: Order Zero, such as this one to Tedus. Brick Joke: Jeb escaped custody just to complete one of these. Counter-Earth: Kerbulus is most likely a 'counter-Kerbin' based on several clues given in Eve: Order Zero Crowning Moment of Awesome: The author does try his best to provide these with some frequency. Hoping for reader feedback on the best examples for some of the main characters. Mildly Military: Seeing as Kerbals have no concept of war or violence, Kerbfleet is definitely this. No One Gets Left Behind: The entire basis of Eve: Order Zero "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Val telling Mort 'the truth' at Bill and Jeb's court-martial. Villanous BSOD: Mort, quite literally, after Val's speech on the value of a Kerbal's life in Eve: Order Zero

The Saga of Emiko Station - Complete
Mister Dilsby replied to Just Jim's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
AAAAAHHHH! Creepy! OK, so either the aliens have artificial gravity (plausible) and there's no stars because it's one of those many situations where you can't actually see stars in space, or else... nope, that's the only possibility They have harnessed the power of the gravioli particle! Run for your lives! -
And you know, this is not a bad idea. I might just install 'chutes on Quadhammer for an emergency Laythe trip, or else carry an add-on package like this one.

Great questions! Let's answer them: There, now don't you feel silly? Deddly gets it. I wonder if he's secretly an accountant? Moving on... Poor Lisa. Hopefully there were plenty of sick bags on the ship this time. And before anyone comments on those contracts--yes, I already recovered the ship, so yes, I know We'll deal with that hilarity in the next update! I'm thinking it might not be too bad, but we'll see. One thing's for sure, it will be able to carry a LOT of fuel. I can fill up all the bays with decouplable orange tanks like I did with the Agenda, then ditch them before I send up the landers. It's designed so that it pretty much lifts with nothing but cargo bays, fuel and engines. Hmm, sort of like this: ...that's HMS Dreadnought, 1906, riding VERY high in the water before getting a superstructure, guns, etc.

Not yet, but I'm not too worried about it--all it should take is a couple of struts connecting the tanks on either side of the crew section to take the compressive load when the engines fire. If that isn't enough I can throw on a pair of I-beams and tie them together. Also on the list of Quadhammer problems to solve: fuel balance changes as the tanks drain, which you'd think it wouldn't since it's perfect when they're full and the tanks drain symmetrically into the engines from both sides. Wondering if one or more tanks needs to get flipped around to manage it... in any case it's only a few degrees, manageable with RCS. Also, as usual, I forgot to put on an antenna. Skimmeroo might need the tail bobbed to fit in the hangar deck, it's pretty tight. I think i can reduce the profile and still get all the control and lift I need. I'll probably put some small probes and ancillary equipment in the forward part of the hangar deck, and the rest of the landers will go in the cargo bays that make up the hangar deck walls. That will also be the home for living areas, life support, engineering and science sections which I can launch in blocks and assemble to the ship in orbit. Have not worked out the [REDACTED]'s main propulsion yet. Nuclear is of course the usual choice for a delta V requirement of this size, but wow I'll need a lot of engines to move that much mass in an acceptable timeframe. Also makes getting the darned thing into orbit more of a challenge. I think chemical engines will be fine if it comes down to it, we'll be able to refuel when we get there. Anyway, one intractable problem at a time

The Saga of Emiko Station - Complete
Mister Dilsby replied to Just Jim's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
At least you and I don't have to worry about one problem of TV show producers: we will never have to kill off a character because the actor thinks a better role has come along, or holds out for more money, or goes into rehab, etc. etc. etc. And even if they did, hey all the Kerbals look pretty much the same, we could swap a new one in even easier than they did with the two Darrins on Bewitched. -
Nice start! Making ships you like looking at and like to fly is what this game is all about. Here's to many more!

Space program or space mission : KSP playstyle
Mister Dilsby replied to Warzouz's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I play multiple missions also since i went interplanetary, but I do NOT launch for every window. Before I did the comic I could switch between them all and pay attention to everything and do all the missions at the same time. Now I sometimes... forget about missions which I started that do not appear in the comic. From now on I think I will set KAC on every crewed ship just so I don't do that again, it's embarrassing
