Ah, vous voulez dire "walk within the vessel" (marcher (verb)="to walk", marché (noun) = "market") ) D'accord, that would be very good! I am doing this for a large ship in my game by building a 'command bridge' inside a cargo bay using some "External Command Seats". I do not know of any way to do this in the existing parts like "Hitchhiker Container" without completely changing the part models. The game engine must then look for collisions between Kerbals en marché within the vessels and the walls, seats, consoles at all times! Very difficult

Hi! By chance, have you read the Forum Guidelines? Unfortunately for this idea, Rule 2.2j specifically prohibits "staging for purposes of roleplay" So, I doubt that anyone will touch this one with a 39 1/2 meter pole, sorry However, it is OK as far as I know to create a set of 'roleplayed' missions within a fictional framework provided one and only one user is playing all of the roles on their own. Quite often this sort of thing leads to pretty good fanfiction-style mission reports Why no roleplaying allowed, you ask? Well, that's been discussed at length many times, most recently in this thread regarding the closing of a certain subforum. I post this message, and that link, in the hopes of saving everyone the trouble of going over this thoroughly settled matter yet again

Nope, just landed and ran around a bit. I'd rather suffer the 10% xp penalty than litter (and yes I know I can take the flags down after) There MAY be a picture from the shipyards before end of chapter. A proper tease does require periodic...

Two today. Let's see if St. Cyril will smile upon my keyboard this time... So yeah I probably could have popped out to solar SOI and gotten a direct intercept for Kerbin for a lot less fuel, but I wanted to save time and get these guys home before the madness REALLY sets in. So we'll have a second stop on Minmus for fuel, and then home again. BTW, I did rearrange the Madness Express to a more thrustable config (pictured below), claw-docked to Minmus Outbound to take on more LF, and got Kurt, Not-Kurt, Cheese Guy and Billy-Bobby safely to LKO. Micarooni Station has disabled their controls using the prefix code, just in case they try to land that thing. Will probably send Tedus up in a Gliido to get them later, off-camera And oh right, @FlyingPete asked about the Kerbulans. Kenlie's probably 50-60 days from the Purple Planet right now, but it's a few hundred days until Kerbin-Jool departure. So your supposition... is plausible.

Here are mine, so far: Kerbfleet General Orders (partial list, some paraphrased) 0. No one gets left behind. 1. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few (or the one). 2. No dangerous Mission shall risk more than the minimum crew required to accomplish it. 3. A Kerbfleet officer must obey all lawful commands given by an officer of superior rank or appropriate civilian authority. 12. If communication with Mission Control is lost, the senior officer present in each planetary SOI shall take command of all craft within that SOI. 13. The ranking Command pilot aboard a vessel can override any order for reasons of crew safety. 14. Any member of the mission team may stop the launch countdown at any time by repeating the command "Abort" three times. 26. Any officer accused of a crime or misdemeanor shall be provided adequate representation from the office of the Judge Advocate Kerbal 27. Probes go in first. 53. All craft about to cross an SOI boundary shall notify Mission Control, and be actively tracked through the boundary. ...recently we've considered adding something about not leaving crews out in space alone for too long because SPACE MADNESS.

Well, Madness Kerbfleet might have all sorts of catchphrases. But for the non-spacemad, 'For Science!' is still our mighty cheer. Kerbfleet considers science to be more about the experience than the points--after all, the tech tree is full but we are going to Jool. Why? FOR SCIENCE! Hard-coded, as it should be. Recalling Gene's speech formally introducing the new General Order at the end of E:O0: "I'm required by regulations to read it to you, even though you've all known it in your hearts from the first day you put on a spacesuit." Oh good. I felt terrible to have 'disappointed' you. MUNSTATION ONE: "Flight, Someone set us up the bomb!" GENE: "What you say !!" Glad you liked it that much! At least you can like many more things now! Quite true! I suppose its possible that Jeb is in fact immune to Space Madness. (or, that if he had it no one would notice) This keeps with the default settings of the USI-LS mod, where orangesuits do not suffer any ill effects when they run out of NOMS. The transmutability of dairy products has fascinated Kerbal scientists for generations. Arrrrrrrrrr... no. Ooh, that'd be a good one: KERBFLEET: A Grand Sol Out No comic today, folks--will wrap up the chapter with Quadhammer's brief excursion to solar orbit, return to Minmus for refueling, and return to Kerbin. There will be at least one Interlude after this chapter.

Correct. "Choosing not to fly manually" is not the same thing as "unable to fly manually". No, you can't prove your piloting skills without demonstrating them--but it is no one else's business to demand that you must.

I'm going to attempt to say something sensible. This usually does not work out for me, but I do have my moments. The question of whether it's cheating or not is irrelevant--not just because it's a single player game, but because if you and I have different mods installed we are not playing the same game! It's analogous to playing different versions of KSP. Suppose you're playing stock 0.90 and I'm playing stock 1.0.5. I don't think that anyone could argue that either of us is cheating. However you are going to have a much easier time, say, aerobraking into Eve orbit than I am, while I am able to enjoy lower dV to Kerbin orbit requirements as well as some useful new parts. This only becomes relevant if we try to compare accomplishments. And pretty much everyone acknowledges that you can't compare accomplishments across different versions--that's why Eve Rocks, Jool-5 and some other long-running challenges reset the leaderboards or even entire threads after certain game updates. Back to Mechjeb vs Not-Mechjeb: You can go either way, for lots of valid reasons enummerated in this and all the other threads that came before it. I think most of us agree that those reasons are all valid and a personal choice for the player. The only conflict comes if a MJ and Not-MJ player try to compare piloting accomplishments, which they can't because they are playing a different game with respect to piloting. They can compare their ship designs, of course, and some other things--but come on, it's no more cheating to play a differently modded game than it is to play one game that's different from another for any other reason at all.

It sure wasn't straight on the way up--I had a 73 degree offset! But Minmus forgives much. I managed to get enough altitude in the initial burn so that I could fire for orbit in short bursts, re-aligning in between. I'll re-arrange the ships before burning for LKO: there's an axial port on the lab which will mate with the front shielded port of the hauler. Lining it up that way will make it quite controllable. I will have to refuel before coming home, thogh. Fortunately there's still LF aboard the (confirmed abandoned) Minmus Outbound station, and also a Class-A rock in orbit I can mine.

Sure, we have insanity, but nothing compares with "let's run toward the lethal thing" insanity. You can stay with @Parkaboy and his frightened dog (oh, and please do trim/edit your quotes--duplicate comic pages tend to make the thread SUPER long, and also might confuse people scrolling through to read the book. Thank you! ) And now, four more: Well, that was fun. Always wanted an excuse to try that And in case you're wondering, yes I did get the trope from that wonderful Ren&Stimpy episode. I've done a check now, and am quite sure I've accounted for all of our other brave crews. Really!

Trivia time: to the best of my recollection Linus Kerman has never appeared as a character in a Kerbfleet comic*! (yeah, I know...here come the conspiracy theories...) So that could indeed be Linus (whose name Gene doesn't know because hey, intern) Or maybe lots of Kerbals in lab coats look alike *meaning, no character has ever been identified as Linus anywhere in a comic panel.

Well then, it's an invasion! That Mothership being on the pad suggests to me that Team Red can at least build and launch from the old Zaltonic site, even if that isn't their main pad. Seems like first priority for Team Blue is to get an asset in there to take a look that can't be disabled by whatever EM pulses they're shooting from the tracking station. Also, wondering if they will be able to capture the 'frozen' drone and bring it down for study, safely. Good stuff!
