  1. Well I'm not hyped for it. You really want 20 pages of Jeb and Bill messing with dresteroids? Maybe you do! I dunno. Thank you--I was beginning to wonder whether such Deeper Themes were worth the effort. Glad someone's been paying attention Actually your first statement in that post was also "meaningful" per Forum Rule 2.3a. Not that I don't love my awesome thread count (it's like Egyptian cotton in here, yo!) but I love my readers too, and I wouldn't want anyone to get warned or cited for a post with no "meaningful content" as described in that Rule. Wouldn't that be perfect? "Your punishment for violating our GRIND directive and going after science... is to get more science!" Well, they have to get convicted first don't they? Trial coming soonish!
  2. Wow, that's a lot of fuel! Yep, you've convinced me--ISRU all the way when I go to Jool myself The LF supertanker is truly epic, a real heavy lifter. I don't tend to launch anything quite so tall. Looking forward to Vall!
  3. It would sort out the balloon color confusion quite nicely.
  4. Well that's convenient. Hopefully you've killed Jeb now so there won't be any confusion...
  5. Well, the operative question is really "Where would they go?" No force in the heavens or on Kerbin could stop Bill from getting to Eve to rescue his friend. Now that's done. If there were a good motivation for Bill and Jeb to do something other than return to Kerbin and face justice, I agree that nothing short of Val cocooning them in duct tape inside a dead capsule would stop them. Anyway, in gameplay this morning Mortingale has just finished its Hohmann transfer burn for Kerbin, while simultaneously Kranefly is about 12 hours from Kerbin SOI (yes with the M7 orbiter still attached and both prisoners aboard ). I'd really like to do a study of these opposition burns, maybe figure out a calculator/prediction method--it really did not cost a lot to do it, and wow it saved 200 days getting home!
  6. You can bet Val's locked out everything that can be locked out using the prefix code. But if Bill did use some trick to get control of a working ship, and Jeb pulled off some crazy stunt (say, hooking half an abandoned BattBot and an abandoned LV-N to Alouette) that let them go anywhere in the Kerbol system-- where do you think they'd go?
  7. Mazel tov. May I helpfully recommend you add some "meaningful content" to that post? Kranefly carries and absolutely stupid amount of fuel, and left Gilly with full tanks plus the proverbial 15 tons of ore. I think I'll be able to drop of Bill and Jeb in orbit, then go back to Eve just for funsies
  8. I would dearly love to subscribe to Time-Warp magazine, it's great! Perfect story mechanism to show off your 'behind the scenes' missions, which also look really cool. I do love bases--for a while a lot of my gameplay was just shuttline ore piggies from the Minmus Flats up to the refining station, good times... So are you going to wait for 1.0.5 to be stable and updated for needed mods before you continue?
  9. Landed a little short of Runway 9, clipped a lighting fixture, wrecked both wings and one canard. Everyone "walked away". Kerbfleet fans note: the passenger manifest of the Gliido flight as pictured is not canon, so chill:)
  10. Whoops! I'd better correct that before someone thinks it's part of some grand alternate crossover timeslip universe thingie. Thank you!
  11. Yes, i just did it recently and it was FUN. I like it better now than it was in 0.90; the ship design problem is less about packing/staging for extreme dV than it is about making a ship with reasonably high dV robust enough to survive atmospheric entry and landing.
  12. 10/10 -- the newest member of the Light Green Group, who wishes every new forumgoer a "happy landing" and has a really excellent Jool-5 mission report in progress.
  13. Really enjoyed reading through this, especially your fresh takes on Jeb and Gene. Good explanation for the whole "Jeb's Junkyard" thing. Lot of excellent laughs scattered in as well.
  14. Boo hoo. Here's some light reading to tide you over: Thus endeth the Interlude. Next up: Chapter 9!
  15. Outstanding work on the Tri-Flyer-- no mean feat to land in an alien atmosphere like that, right on the beach too! Those guys should learn to trust Val more.
  16. I'm right. I mean, he's right. Have you ever seen us in the same place at the same time? For all you know Parkaboy's hiding the lower half of my his face because it's just him me with a goatee.
  17. Oh no what have I done. IT WAS THE RUNWAY! THE RUNWAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!1! I couldn't bear you all going all tinfoil crazy on the meaning of '27' so I posted that one question "for a friend" so that SOMEBODY here would realize the Evil SSTO took off going WEST not EAST. I mean that one poor guy had to create an account it was getting so ridiculous! *deepbreath*
  18. Says who I don't? I don't really do 'meta' clues though, that's not fair. (but I might have left a clue somewhere else on the Forum, you never know...) In general the simplest explanation for the visual evidence is the best, I'm running a comic strip here not a cryptography course Because it has a grabbing claw on the front, that's why Well, I certainly didn't show you anyone in the cockpit, did I? But then again I didn't show you poor Gemmane's face either. I will say this: I don't clip parts, even on evil SSTOs...and I also don't launch SSTOs that aren't capable of landing back on runway 27 (or 09, as the case may be) after completing all parts of their missions. There, that should be good for another few pages of comments... very glad the mystery seems to be entertaining everyone, because I am still working on Pt3 of the Interlude. (it requires some custom building... nothing as complicated as a new, super-ugly SSTO and doctored runway surface, but still time consuming) Hope to have it for you tomorrow sometime. Don't hold your breath on the mystery though, the concept for Pt3 doesn't necessarily include any more information.
  19. Does it let you fire when bloaked... er, cloaked? - - - Updated - - - You're welcome, kmyers--and welcome to the Forum! Glad you weighed in on this; I was just about to post a comment that the 27 was for Carlton Fisk because I'm a Red Sox fan, but then again no Sox fan would ever erase a 9 (Ted Williams), even to write a 27. Anyways...
  20. Welcome Starhawk! Well deserved and a long time coming. Enjoy your official membership card, your emerald-encrusted commemorative tumbler and your exclusively embroidered smoking jacket. And you've seen enough 'Airplane' references on my thread to know what that means.
  21. Does anyone know what those numbers on the ends of the runway mean? Asking for a friend.
