  1. Thanks, yes it is the comic--how else would Kerbfleet publish a report? Given the size she must be viewing it on a full-size k-pad and not the little version we've seen Bill use. - - - Updated - - - Heh--I had trouble with it too, hyperedit kept crashing whenever I tried landing Dilsby at the pole. I ended up throwing together a rover which I landed at about 86N and drove... Unfortunately this lost a wheel, so I jetpacked the rest of the way. Going down the hole was rough, I had to constantly spam the 'land here' button of Hyperedit ship lander as dreamsave Dilsby tumbled ragdoll to the bottom. Anyway, very happy how it turned out... The things I go through for you, dear readers!
  2. Why should anyone spend time trying this if the OP can't be bothered?
  3. Sorry, not much I can say here. It reads more as a foreword to a story than a story per se.
  4. Thanks--yeah, I never wanted to paint Mort as truly evil, just focused differently on Kerbfleet's objectives. Walt is still running laps around KSC high-fiving everyone after the last page of Duna, Ore Bust gave him that 6th light green bar. If and when we crack 2000 rep ("Cannot Be Measured") I think I will do an animation of his head exploding.
  5. Yup, good few panels. I think you may want to pick up the pace a bit; the ratio of panels to mission events seems high. Your mission control guys are getting funnier and funnier.
  6. Not a lot; if Bill can somehow pull off the "build a base" contract, and get paid for some other stuff then that will really help. While I was on Duna I got a nice contract for "land a ship on Kerbin from Duna", if one of those pops up it should soften the blow QUITE a bit. Ohhhh yes, practically no one in Kerbin SOI is getting out of this without answering some awkward questions. While you're all compiling the list of charges, remember that there will be quite some real-time before the mission is over and we can start the various inquisitions. Until then, let's have a few more pages...
  7. That is not the Kranefly, it's the Mortingale: four engines and one solar panel not six. Also the hitchhike abaft the cockpit and the cargo bay instead of massive LF storage. Sorry, they do look pretty similar--not entirely coincidence, as I knew this design would work with the Kranefly's lifter and would also perform as a good "tractor" for the Billmobile carrier pod. Much easier to tell them apart from the back end, as Mortingale has a big heat shield aft and not a docking klaw.
  8. You have a rocket-propelled grenade night? That's pretty hardcore.
  9. Actually Kenlie would be perfect for the Jool mission. Assuming I don't kill the whole A-team and/or need to rescue half a dozen people off Eve when the M7 plotzes, I think I will put him in the crew.
  10. 'Enzin' is a rank, which Lisa held at the beginning of the comic so what you saw could have referred to her maybe? This is, as far as I can find, the first appearance of both Kenlie and Melbe in the comic. Later on in the interlude Kenlie drove that ship back, and docked at Kerbstation Two. Lots of crew came down from there in a Pogo: Melbe of course was assigned to the Eve mission, and Kenlie drew the Kranefly. (the "bigger boat" he asked for) Given all the asteroid missions Kenlie has done, and especially considering he assembled Micarooni Station single-handed, there must be some reason he is not "Looty Kenlie" yet...clearly he is very skilled towship operator who happens to be a complete imbecile at everything else.
  11. Yeah, I saw that too when I was digging up old pages on character for the "about writing" thread. Did you notice the science officer who was with him? (hint: "Yeeee-ha! Lookit me, I'm a lander!")
  12. Kerbfleet's legal system is of course a comedic hodgepodge of many human systems, based mostly on the American system since I know that one best. So it's not going to be a question of what everyone is guilty of, but what can be proven. Not a bad idea. Maybe there will be something for him to do while the Kranefly/M7 and Mortingale are in transit. Thanks guys, comments appreciated, rep or no rep. Well then,I guess we have been away from Dilsby, Melbe, Clauselle and Gregmore for too long. It really is hard to juggle so many characters, will be a real challenge when we have ten of them within Eve SOI! Don't worry, I'll keep it all straight for you
  13. I've had this happen with my Kranefly, which uses 6x LV-Ns. With the ISRU running, one of the LV-Ns would lose thrust and the ship would pitch/yaw away from true. If I shut down the offending LV-N, a different one would lose thrust!
  14. Thanks guys! I know I promised to release it once the comic finished and Kerbfleet decommissioned it, but still nervous now that everyone will be able to point out all the ways I designed/built/flew it wrong
  15. By the way, this next page is the 100th in Eve: Order Zero! And two more after that Next up we'll see what's happening in Eve SOI. Remember that Dilsby guy? And Melbe, and the French one, and... I could swear there was one more. Onward, to Eve!
  16. Yes, I love those. #3 would be very appropriate for PlanKappa. "How many Kerbals were truly aboard the Iffy-1 when it launched? And who are the seventeen Kerbals we recovered when it splashed down?"
  17. Just Kerbal Engineer Redux, there is a part that gives calcluations etc. Once I have a chance I'll post a full stock version. ETA: Done, see OP.
  18. At long last, the Hummlebee Mk2 is posted in the Spacecraft Exchange.
  19. Finally releasing the Hummlebee Mk2, exactly as it appeared in Duna, Ore Bust! . Two versions are available, one with the KER computer installed and one fully stock. The first few pages of Chapter 2 of the comic (album below) give reasonably good instructions on how to launch it to orbit using the "Orange Knight". Your apoapsis may vary. No warranty expressed or implied, but somehow I managed to get this thing to every biome on Duna, Ike and back, so so can you! Notes: I designed and launched this in 1.0.2 and landed it in 1.0.4. The "Orange Knight" airlaunch to orbit vehicle is a bit tricky. Drain the dorsal tank into the main as soon as there's room. Then you'll have to manually adjust thrust on the Twin Boar engine as fuel drains to keep from flipping. Just like Jeb did! Toggle the Vernor engine VTOL system with AG6. It balances reasonably well. Watch the balance between forward and rear fuel tanks when maneuvering in atmosphere--it will flip if you get your COM behind COL. Yes the AIRBRAKES are on backwards. Yes there is a random antenna embedded in the starboard wing. Oopsie. No I still don't know why in my game the wings sometimes lost lift. Hopefully it won't happen to you! If it does, it's all part of the Kerbfleet experience! Yes the ladder is on the wrong side, and anyone exiting the ship has to just drop to the surface. I think I covered this up in the comic pretty well, don't you? And here is the link to the .craft file. Enjoy! And here's the fully stock version with the Kerbal Engineer unit removed.
  20. At this point, rescuing Kenlie will come out of the JAK (Judge Advocate Kerbal) budget. He'll be needed as a witness for the prosecution in Bill's and Jeb's courts-martial, and as the defendant in his own for losing the Kranefly. ETA: **DISCLAIMER** The above statement is not canon. I have not yet decided if we're doing A Few Good Kerbs or not. Maybe as an epilogue?
