No, it's not a joke. Fights were overflowing from one part of the forum to others and it got so bad we had to ban several people. Hence, the no-roleplaying rule. However, that isn't what this thread is about. How about saying hello to Random Kerbal and looking forward to his/her ships instead?

Thread moved to the Lounge, since it's not about the game itself.

The Name Change Thread (WARNING! ONE TIME ONLY!)

Done and done. -
Welcome to the forum, Random Kerbal. Just so you know, we've had fights erupt on the forum due to feuds between pretend companies, so we've had to rule out "roleplaying" of nations or companies. You will not be able to pretend hire/fire employees or accept "jobs" from people for your company.

15 ton payload SSTO: Titan hunter mk5
Vanamonde replied to Roflcopterkklol's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Yep, looks like this thread's a goner. If you like the ship, you'll have to try to reproduce it from the pics. -
A flyby must pass through the sphere of influence of the body in question. Looks like you're pretty new to the game, so do you know what that means? In this first picture, the yellow part of my projected path line passes through Mun's sphere of influence (SOI), and is therefore a flyby. Once the ship actually gets there, the colors of the lines change. In this pic, the ship is inside Mun's SOI. As long as you're taking your science readings within that sphere around Mun, you should meet the contract's requirements.

Plane keeps veering

What bewing said, but would also be helpful to move the nose wheel back and adjust it to extend beyond the back wheels. Will help you get off the ground and help with the stability issue, too. -
Modding issue moved to modding support. And good luck with your problem.

Sorry, that name is already in use. -
C J Cherryh's Downbelow Station in KSP
Vanamonde replied to MerlinsMaster's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Cherryh is oddly vague about many specifics of her fictional worlds, but her idea of a station is really big. As in tens or hundreds of thousands of people can live on them on food largely produced on-station. Even a very large ship wouldn't swing the barycenter all that far. -
what is the best galaxy/star system/star cluster mod?

C J Cherryh's Downbelow Station in KSP
Vanamonde replied to MerlinsMaster's topic in KSP1 Discussion
She did think of it, but assumes that crews/autopilots are competent to perform the maneuver. And she's one of my favorite authors. -
What gameplay rules do you impose on yourself?
Vanamonde replied to Klapaucius's topic in KSP1 Discussion
No intakes placed where they couldn't actually get airflow to engines. Anything going interplanetary gets at least one Hitchhiker module as living quarters. (Assuming it's crewed.) -
Nuclear engine to orbit
Vanamonde replied to Flying dutchman's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Extremely difficult, yet pointless. Classic KSP. -
Are you sure this is possible? I lose control a couple of minutes into ascent. I like the idea of it, though.

Hey guy. I have a couple of bits of feedback for you. If this is meant for new players, I'd suggest giving the ship a reaction wheel part. They may be less realistic, but they're MUCH easier to use and a newbie doesn't have to worry about running out of monopropellant. The dialog could still be clearer, and I don't see how to end the mission. I ran through all the steps and landed, but then nothing happened. But it's a nice little mission. Thank you.

It would suck if KSP went Steam-only, but since THERE IS NO SLIGHTEST INDICATION THAT THEY WOULD DO THAT, why don't we hold off on the rage, panic, and threats to quit playing?

I'm not fixing it. I merely asked our IT guy about it.
-
The ping being off appears to be a glitch, and they're trying to fix it.

The statue was indeed assembled on site, but for interest's sake, cranes are not strictly necessary for this kind of thing.

How much science do you need? I typically clear the tech tree by transmitting just about everything except what I need to earn probe cores in the first place.

If you're that close, you should be able to point your ship target-retrograde, burn to zero relative velocity, and then fly directly to it and dock. Where is that going wrong?
