  1. Bill and Bob arrive on Duna, land 6km away from base as planned. Jeb arrives from the nearby base to pick them up. Ahh, the ol' base, Jeb and Bob. Everything hooked up and charging, though the rover itself can operate on its own monoprop powered generator. Dust storms.... Seriously, they creep me out.
  2. Large Manned Orbiting Space Vehicle Device Satellite For Asteroid Detection Thingy. Or just LMOSVDSFAD for short.
  3. icemonkey, the .dll file that's called FreeTrackClient has to go into the general KSP folder. Not into gamedata, not into plugins, but into the folder that CONTAINS that gamedata folder and all the other ones. The folder with KSP.exe in it
  4. I finally got around to trying out KerbTrack, which is a plugin that utilizes a webcam to track your head movements, which is then translated to the movements of the camera in the cockpit. For the first time, I could finally comprehend the true scale of Kerbin. diving on the KSC, it's the small things like the roll of the camera that add to the immersion
  5. me = blown away smooth AND amazing. I guess I still need to get the hang of it, my motions are nowhere near as smooth as the ones in the video. But nevertheless, it's a phenomenal plugin.
  6. how do I install this so as to only get the volumetric clouds?
  7. is it possible to have the shunting engine have the fx and sfx of a normal engine?
  8. the first Kerbals on an asteroid! got there on this 3.75m(or just 3m) monoprop based ship, and decided to build something of a base. mid construction complete
  9. nabbed my first asteroid, a Class E behemoth! Even the combined thrust of 720kn was scarcely effective. I managed to grab it about a week before it would have crashed into Kerbin (lucky me ) Now dubbed "Kaio", it's going to serve as a testbed for asteroid activities, and later as a base. here's an ion-tug designed to steer such objects out of harms way.
  10. as for the grid of windows, I think it's quite suitable. It would be amazing if from the IVA view they were done in a fashion reminiscent of the Kerbonov Kn-2 cockpit, which also has grid windows.
  11. I tossed this behemoth up to Duna. Total weight once I stripped off all the landing amenities: 27 tons comes with two decks. The top deck is for KAS cargo, and the bottom deck is where the monopropellent fueled generator is located. here's some cross sections The engineer on lower deck. The generator can draw from a bank of 500 monoprop, during my ~110-130 km journey I have used 15 units. It's supposed to circumnavigate Duna and meet up with the three bases I have on Duna's dried up ocean beds. it doesn't doesn't tackle slopes well, and unfortunately this is the terrain I'm up against. Either I'm climbing at 5m/s or going 35m/s downwards, which is when my wheels break.
  12. fourth mod I've seen for me, there was another one during 0.17 or 0.18 and for some reason the concept disappeared entirely until now.
  13. these are dev pics back from when 0.16 was about to be released, I remember drooling over them back when there was still a separate forum for developer updates
  14. I think that the parts in general need more grit added to them, kinda for realism and kinda for the edges to look more defined.
  15. do you plan on expanding upon the 3.75m series?
  16. look familiar? The Duna landing party two decks, a cargo hold, global positioning system, nuclear reactor and battery, seating for 16. 5m variant coming soon
  17. I made a double-decker SSTO, this is deck #1, with all of its sciency bits. Deck #2 with the reactor and the door for the hall to the cabin.
  18. what I'd really love to see are some new 3.75m parts. First thing I did when I saw them was start making landers and this gargantuan laythe variant even only bigger landing legs and command pod will suffice
  19. you can just take one of the six way hubs and make one with the help of action groups. also, I think this was suggested before and shot down.
  20. those tracks seem like they would be the perfect tool for making land bases
  21. falling down the ladder, Bill style. same ship, from afar. testing out the HelmetCam, just woah
  22. will this work for, say, parts from the Near Future pack?
  23. Finally made it to Gilly! lugging the station, I had ~200-300 dV from the remaining 1000 units of argon (<5%), enough to land the tug on the surface of Gilly! I also spotted the tug from inside the station after the lab was docked here is the chestcam view from one of the kerbals engines, lights, fuel, solar panels orbital engine for extreme maneuvers, but the PIT thruster is enough for any orbital changes above Gilly.
