If you're not playing exactly like me, with all the same mods, then you're doing it wrong and should feel ashamed of yourself.
-
Sorry, Major. Tom was out of control and has been grounded.
-
Are you using a save file from a previous version? Try creating a new one and check the difficulty settings to see if it's listed.

Space Corporation mode
razark replied to Legendary Emu's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I can't say your idea strikes me as something I'd like to play, but the presentation is good. Reminds me of what I used to read on the back of boxes in the game store, back when games came with manuals and keyboard overlays. -
[1.2.1] SimpleConstruction - Stock rocket building v3.3
razark replied to MatterBeam's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Awesome. I haven't tried it out yet myself. -
So don't put in a dog, but instead put in a fictional animal. Space programs have a long history of using animal testing. It fits the game.

Kerbals have no free will. They are randomly placed on a list, arbitrarily selected to a second list, and after that, they do only what they are explicitly told to do, no more or less. I just don't see why people who have no qualms about doing all sorts of wild, crazy, immoral acts with one artificial construct for amusement have some sort of problem with doing the same to a different kind of artificial construct.

My gods, people! It's a few pixels on a screen. It's not like it shows up during the game or sneaks off the screen and murders your family while you're not looking! Not looking? Hey, there's an idea. If you don't like it, don't look at it. Start KSP, and walk out of the room before the Dread Cat of Many Colors has a chance to appear before you in all its soul-stealing glory. Go do something else. Get a drink. Make a snack. Dress your dog in a funny costume. Read poems to your guinea pig. Glue quarters to the sidewalk and laugh when people try to pick them up. Call your friends. Call your mom. Call your friends' moms. Call my mom, she likes to talk to people. Shave your head. Scream loudly to vent your frustration at your now bald mother because you combined the previous suggestions. When you hear the music start, walk back to the computer and pretend like the Foul Demon Beast of Nyan was never there.

Yes, but then I know what's being added to my computer. If you've ever dealt with a web browser where half the screen is taken up by toolbars, you become adverse to allowing automatic installs of software on your computer.

[1.1.2] Station Science (v2.0: New models by SpeedyB)
razark replied to ethernet's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
This is one of the last of the ones I'm waiting for to really start playing again. Thanks. -
A Kerbal Suggestion - actual Recovering
razark replied to KSPFanatic102's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The cut scene, while nice, would require a lot of work to make something that works for the many different return vehicles/terrain types/time of day/etc. that would need to be covered. A delay in getting the crew back is good. The crew should be in an unavailable state for the return to KSC based on distance, plus an additional time of recovery/debriefing/retraining/vacation days/parades/public affairs appearances/paperwork/etc. based on how long they were on a mission. This would also help to promote crew rotation, instead of always sending the same Kerbals every time. A longer delay than the crew returning (not including the additional time) for the recovered spacecraft is good. This would affect both funds and science from returned vessels. As for a science delay: Sample returns, materials bay, goo containers, and other "physical" returns should have a delay on return/processing. Science from things like temperature crew reports, readings, barometers, and other instruments that collect "data" should be available much sooner. In either case, there should be a pool of points available as soon as they are returned (data immediately, physical once returned to the center), and another pool that is slowly made available as they are processed/studied.- 34 replies

[1.3.0] Kerbal Engineer Redux 1.1.3.0 (2017-05-28)
razark replied to cybutek's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Yes. I've carried mine forward for a few versions now. -
Who's dissing him? For a first post, getting a very popular mod working is pretty epic. Thanks for doing that, @KortexM.

razark replied to MatterBeam's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
EL is updated now. Getting Simple Construction working may be as easy as dropping in the updated .dll file. -
[1.12.x] KSP Alternate Resource Panel v2.11.0.0 (April 10)
razark replied to TriggerAu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
So glad to see this one again! -
If you have a working version, why not provide to your forum-mates?
-
There's this one that just appeared recently. It only affects launches, though. (Which is the most interesting time for failures.)
