  1. On the contrary, my point is that I don't have to have a better (or any) solution to point out that a bad solution is bad. I don't have clue how to keep an airliner from crashing, but I do know that blender kittens is not going to help.
  2. It's been tried. The result is an overload of complaints that the latest version does not work (and how DARE Squad release such a buggy product), and a dearth of usable bug reports. Except that you end up with a bunch of people screaming that Squad broke their working game, because people don't realize that 1) backups are a thing, 2) "bug-testing" is not spelled "P L A Y I N G M Y S A V E O N A T E S T R E L E A S E", and 3) that testing on live data is bad and wrong. Then Squad gets blamed for ruining people's lives. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. First, if Squad releases a patch to fix every minor bug separately , we're going to be looking at hundreds of patches per version, rather than four or five. Then, when patch 1.4.53 comes out, people are going to whine that they have to wait for 1.4.54 to fix another minor problem. Second, doing so would reduce each patch to nothing more than a minor mod, and I could have sworn I just saw someone say that "Expecting every customer to deal with bugs by applying mods... is ridiculous." I just wish I could remember who said that.
  3. [snip] If someone says "We can solve this airliner crashing by putting 50,000 kittens in a blender", I do not have to be a pilot or aerodynamics engineer to realize that it's still a bad solution. Corollary: Compromise is not always a proper solution. If you propose blending 50 kilokittens, and I propose blending none, blending 25 kilokittens is not the right answer. My edit: How are we supposed to discuss if a person is qualified, if we can't discuss what qualifications are, or how we determine if a person is qualified in the first place?!?
  4. How do I pronounce "Mun"? Properly, of course1. 1And anyone who pronounces it differently from me is obviously wrong, evil, and a bad person that doesn't deserve to play KSP at all.
  5. Sure it is: Notice bug while testing something completely different. Immediately know where it is among thousands of lines of code. Change single line of bad code to good code. Compile. Ship. That's a pretty simple process! if (eat(cake) && have(cake)) then release(KSP);
  6. Yeah, if we talked the way my group of friends does around each others' kids, the moderators would be shutting down every thread.
  7. I rarely use all of mine, nor have I paid enough attention when I have.
  8. So would I, since I'm missing at least two likes now!
  9. Specs: It's shiny. It's pretty. It's fashionable. It's easy to carry between meetings. It shows I'm important. It's expensive, so it must be good. For being 15% of the user base, causing 80% of the issues we deal with ain't bad. (Can you tell I really like the 9th floor management types that get whatever's in style with no thought to how to actually use it? I will admit there are a handful of mac users that know what they are doing, but they're all in the IT group.)
  10. One of the devs, at one time, had a plan linking the easter eggs together. It's in the far past, and it's not going to happen. There's been a few threads on it over the years. We had that. It was called Maxmaps, and it was annoying as hell to have to go on reddit/twitter/the forum/wherever else and piece together the information he was leaking in various places. Let's not go back to that crap, please. As for an established background/story/lore, whatever you want to call it, no thank you. As far as I am concerned, KSP already has a story, and it's different in every save, because I get to write the story myself. I'd rather have that than to be stuck constantly replaying one person's version of what they think KSP should be.
  11. But who is going to carry him along the bridge?
  12. I like the idea of letting a player pick a starting group from the roster list. However, I'd like to be able to pick any three or four, with no class restriction. I edit my save file to make the starting four all pilots, anyway.
  13. What do you think this thread is?
  14. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's not quite normal. But if that's what it takes to get you through your morning, enjoy.
  15. That depends. Are we talking per day, or per hour?
  16. Is this not simply a part of being human?
  17. So you're saying we need to get this moved somewhere else?
  18. I found a computer of mine from a few years ago. It boots. It runs. I don't have the password or a Vista recovery disc.
  19. I grew up watching it. RIP Harry Anderson. I've been watching Star Trek:TNG lately. It's a bit of a different role for him.
  20. Cats are not domesticated. They simply tolerate humans and use people to get what they want. Dog: This human gives me food and shelter and pets me whenever I want. It must be a god! Cat: This human gives me food and shelter and pets me whenever I want. I must be a god!
  21. Was going to point you to this one, but you found it yourself. FF is a mod that adds absolutely nothing to gameplay, but completely changes the game. I've gotten to the point that playing without it is just wrong.
  22. And a completely flat lakebed, in case you miss the runway.
