Why do Piper J-3 Cub is still so popular around the world?
razark replied to Pawelk198604's topic in Science & Spaceflight
These are two of my favorites. Usually, if I'm going to load up Flight Simulator, it's probably going to be one of these two. They're simple aircraft, in that you don't have to deal with a whole lot, but they require you to pay attention to them. It keeps you involved in flying them, instead of just throwing on autopilot and wandering off until it's time to land. -
I had heard of it, but I don't think I'd ever seen pictures of it. Wow, I haven't seen that VAB in a looooong time. I'd forgotten how ugly it was.
-
Didn't think of that. I guess that's because I come from a generation of idiots.
-
That your generation are idiots, or that Delay's generation are?

I don't care at all what you play. I don't want to see you play anything, really. Edit: I've never done any. I just try to find my own challenges, or some other task I find personally interesting. If you want to try a challenge, pick one you want to try. Honestly, I don't know what you like about the game. Perhaps if you tell people what you like to do (building ships, flying planes, do the mostest with the leasest, huge ships), they'll be able to better tell you which challenges might fit your style.

Meh. Generational designations have shifted over the last 20+ years, so that everything that came after Generation X has had so many different names/definitions to make it nearly useless, beyond there being some ill-defined and shifting group called Millennials. It's all bunk, anyway. Just because people were born around the same time doesn't mean their lives will be similar, beyond the very basics. They live through the same events, but each one is affected differently. Different upbringings means people will take away something different from the same experience. People are individuals, and overly broad generalizations aren't particularly helpful (unless your dealing with statistics, maybe). Anyway, it generally boils down to: My generation is the best. The previous generation is stubbornly stuck in their ways and out of touch with the modern world. The next generation is full of spoiled brats who are completely ruining pop culture and have no clue how to deal with life. (Also, they need to get off my lawn and turn their weird music down.)

It's from the 0.14-0.15 era. That's the pre-EVA command pod, which went away in 0.16, and the landing legs weren't in the game until 0.14, so it has to fall in between those version.

Not always. It could also be saying that you have nothing more to contribute because your opponent is either too stubborn to either back down or worse, believes he is infallible.

I agree the stock game could use some improvement to the crew. At this point, they're simply interchangeable parts, like engines. Do I need more thrust or more ISP from this engine, should I swap it for that engine, do I need a level 1 Kerbal or a level 3, this or that solar panel? Final Frontier definitely helps give the Kerbals some more individuality, and I also track my crews and flights outside of KSP with some additional RP bits, so it at least feels like I'm not just swapping parts. I wish some of that would be added to the game. What I'd really like to see, though, is autonomous crewmembers. Pilots that can be given a flight plan, and follow it to the best of their experience-based abilities (Increasing as they get more flight time. A rookie that's made orbit shouldn't be better than a never-orbited pilot with 1000 hours of flight time.). Engineers should be able to fix errors on their own, simply by saying "X Kerman, repair y part." The time and ability to fix things being again based on experience. Scientists should be able to be given a flight plan, and told to carry out a list of experiments as conditions warrant. Before the flight, give them a list of "When first at high altitude over Mun, run a and b. When you are in orbit, run c. In low orbit, reset a, b, and c, then rerun each. When landed, run experiments x, y, and z." Again, with the time needed for the tasks and the ability to run them correctly based on experience. Then, you can design a mission, select your crew, and send them out to do what needs to be done. It would be kind of like an actual Kerbal Space Program, rather than Kerbal Space One Guy Does Everything.

Does Is Hard To Start Coding At Age 32 I Want Learn Python?
razark replied to Pawelk198604's topic in Science & Spaceflight
The hard part about learning to program is learning to break down what you want the computer to do into a series of steps. Once you learn to do that, it's just a matter of figuring out how to tell the computer to do it in whatever language you choose to use. Python's pretty easy in that regard. -
If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, even if it wasn't a joke, thoughtcrime is still immoral.

That would mean going to... (cue ominous music) THE MALL!!! I think I'd rather wait the month or so, honestly. But I did consider it.

I'm used to having parts left over. In fact, I have a bag of parts left. Just not the one I need. Fortunately, it was just one of the little greebles, so I was able to almost complete it. Lego also has a "Report Missing Piece" link on their site, so now I just have to wait a few weeks, I hope.

My Lego Saturn V was missing a piece.

There's actually a set rule on that? I'm not sure how I made it through college without writing more than a couple papers of any significant length (more than a page). I probably did 20-25 pages of papers the whole time!
-
No, you just don't understand how hard it is for us busy students. You and all the other professors give us soooooooo muuuuuuuch homework, and there's barely any time to get it all done in time! You all think your class is the most important one, and don't realize that there's other important things, like football games, parties, watching movies, playing games, and all the other reasons one goes to college!

Brainlord’s Petition to Change the EULA
razark replied to Brainlord Mesomorph's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Honestly, I haven't been following the whole conversation. I've been under the assumption that somebody's been watching everything I do for over a decade now, and if they haven't had a problem with me yet, then today's probably not the day it all goes down the drain, especially over a video game.- 180 replies
