[0.23.5] TreeLoader - Custom Career Tech-tree Loader 1.1.5
Nori replied to r4m0n's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I can't say as I haven't tried it. Just download it to a fresh KSP copy and try just this out with the yargnit tree. I'd play a little ways in though to be sure. My issues didn't pop up till a few flights in. -
[1.8.x-1.12.x] Module Manager 4.2.3 (July 03th 2023) - Fireworks season
Nori replied to sarbian's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Yep, this is what I meant. In the past I used to just delete parts manually. With one or two mods that isn't a big deal. But when you start getting hundreds of parts it becomes tough. For instance, I have prodecural fairing. Thinking of installing KW rockets. Don't need/want their fairings. Could physically delete the parts, but then if a update comes out all that work is lost. @Starwaster Ok. I figured you could hide them somehow, but then you still have the texture loading into memory. Which is why I was asking if MM could actually keep it from loading. Thanks -

Yeah it does. However, certain tech trees seem to have some issues. From what I've been reading and experiencing it appears that treeloader doesn't like more than a certain number of tech nodes. -

Nori replied to sarbian's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
No doubt this has been asked before, but searching doesn't bring anything up. Can module manager stop parts from loading? I know I can just delete a part, but then I have to remember every part I've deleted whenever I update. -
There is also Hanger http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/88933-0-24-2-Hangar-v1-1-0 Not quite a cargo bay, but very similar.

So I'm trying to add crossfeed to a bunch of tanks that have resources. Was thinking the best way would be to just do this: @PART[*]:HAS[!MODULE[ModuleCrossFeed], @RESOURCE[LiquidFuel]] But I didn't really want to have a line for each resource. Can I do something like this? @PART[*]:HAS[!MODULE[ModuleCrossFeed], @RESOURCE[LiquidFuel, MonoPropellant, XenonGas]] -
[1.0+] B.Dynamics - Retracting/vectoring engines etc. v1.2.0 (May 6)

Ok. Well I think I'll try em out. Thanks for making this pack. -
Is this used instead of Active Texture Management or with? Or something else?

Has anyone used this for FAR/NEAR? Love all the parts but don't wanna mess up comparability. -

Anyone else having issues with some of the parts in this mod? I was having issues in my main game, so I create a copy of KSP with just NEAR and this mod and I'm getting all sorts of errors and bugs. [0.90]NEAR: A Simpler Aerodynamics Model v1.3.1 12/16/14
Nori replied to ferram4's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
So, I'm having a strange issue. Maybe it is just me, or it is working as intended. Anyway, I installed Spaceplanes Plus and used his wing pieces to make a attempted spaceplane. I could take off and get to a reasonable speed and anytime I tried to maneuver the plane would flex really bad. Eventually I managed to break it apart. Tried strutting it and I had the same issue. Is this just a design issue, or maybe I installed something wrong? The plane is pretty simple. Just a fuel tank with rockets as the fuselage and then jet fuel container attached to the sides with jet engines off the back. Simple swept wing design. I'll post a picture later if anyone is interested. -

Ferram, just wanted to say thanks for making this. I tried FAR out for a bit and it was just too much for me. This is just perfect. It actually made me enjoy KSP plane building and flying now, so thanks for that. -
[24.2] Karbonite Ongoing Dev and Discussion
Nori replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
If you use the karbonite engines then you probably want em. But for a exploration/landing ship, just get a 100-200 tank and convert on the go. I was thinking I might try adding a tiny tank into the converter just to reduce the parts needed. -
Something I have to get off my chest...about to FAR or not to FAR.
Nori replied to Hodo's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
I tried FAR out and while I really appreciate the work that has gone into it; it is just too much for me. Could I figure it out? Yeah probably, but some parts about it end up just being maddening and I feel like it would take a lot more time for me to learn than I feel that it is worth. So I looked around and saw that Ferram made NEAR and decided to try that out and I LOVE it! Maybe it took some of the realistic parts out, but it fixed and improved what I wanted and get this. I actually can make a flying plane now and I enjoy flying it. Never had that experience with stock KSP flying. It also gives me a nice reason to use fairings. Thank you Ferram for the options here. I readily admit that FAR is too much for me and I like the option to use NEAR. -
[24.2] Karbonite Ongoing Dev and Discussion
Nori replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Makes sense. I do really like not having to land at a specific spot to get a bit of a top off. With life support it becomes a balancing act between how much time can I waste getting more fuel. It just feels so wrong to haul a empty tank of Karbonite into space. -
[24.2] Karbonite Ongoing Dev and Discussion
Nori replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Been playing around with Karbonite and I really like it. Great job on this mod. It is amazing how quickly you got this put together and as fully featured as it is. Got a question and some feedback. Is adding another resource conversion as simple as adding it to the converter config? So if I wanted to convert karbonite to hydrogen (from near future mod) I could basically just copy the config for liquid fuel and put in the resource name for hydrogen? For the feedback. I feel like Karbonite masses too much. From what I can tell it masses 2.5x more than liquid fuel. I understand and appreciate there being a conversion penalty and a urgency to converting Karbonite, but this seems to make hauling resources from say the Mun to a orbiting fuel station rather un-lucrative. I tested it out just to make sure I wasn't crazy; put on the 1450 Karbonite tank and a empty fuel tank. It weighed about 25,000. After converting all the Karbonite to fuel/oxidizer it weighed in around 14,000. Just thought that was a little much. I just can't imagine using a Karbonite engines when Karbonite weighs so much. My ship would be so heavy! Just some thoughts. Maybe lowering it would be too much. Not sure. -

You have a small error in your file. Line 71 @PART[KA_Drill_Radial_01 ] notice the space before the bracket. Apparently that isn't liked by TweakScale. -
[24.2] Karbonite Ongoing Dev and Discussion
Nori replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Got a small suggestion. Since you need more oxidizer than fuel methinks it would make sense to change the oxidizer efficiency up to 1.1 from 0.9. That way you wouldn't have to wait for the oxidizer to catch up. -
Ah, sorry should have explained better. I have been reading so many threads I forget what has been said where. I finish a flight and click recover and no science is awarded. It go straight to the reputation screen. Tried a few flights and restarting and no go. Was reading some other tech tree threads and it sounds like a tree loader issues that only affects trees with more than a certain number of tech nodes.

Hmm, Nicaraguan? I don't know that I've had any coffee from them. Recently had Guatemalan which was decent. Also had a Mexican blend that I didn't care for. My current favorites are some blends from this local coffee shop Anodyne. They have a Peruvian mix and Papa New Guinea mix that I love and I just picked up a Ethiopian heirloom variety I'm eager to try (Ethiopia is where coffee started in case you are wondering). If you are out on the west coast Blue Bottle makes excellent coffee; some of the best I've had, though more pricey than most. I've never tried cold brewed before. It sounds very interesting so I will have to try that. I would love to try the Chemex style. Mostly I just French Press it which works pretty well for me. And in case you are wondering, my wife calls me a coffee snob...
