@Teiwaz CKAN is known for borking FAR, and ferram stopped supporting any CKAN installation of FAR for that reason. If voxelization breaks when using specific parts please refer to the authors of such modded parts, the way FAR works probably means bad collision boxes or configurations.- 14,073 replies

@Buisson It looks like you rescaled it so much but FAR used the voxel scale like if it wasn't rescaled, and you lost precision enough to have problems. That's just a guess tho, judging by the huge markers.- 14,073 replies

I have noticed that the BAD-T propellers pack is really good for building propeller airplanes in general, not only for BAD-T itself, I may request the link to be added together with the original downloads. You will need the latest firespitter for it to work on 1.1.2, together with this MM patch: Well, I think I was in fact a bit too harsh about KOTH, ASC is a way to make it, but that would be also too much work for me, and it's really important for me to keep control of everything and run all Tier1 battles by myself. Especially now that the rules will change a bit towards empowering the person running the battles, which requires 100% trust on the person doing it. -

About the discussion on a possible BAD-T KOTH, if something like that is happening it won't happen here, and I would rather it had another name. After the tournament is over, some battles that did not happen on the official tournament can be run, just to see how craft performs against each other, which will be open to suggestions, will be neat to beat @ferram4. But I am not going to compromise running a KOTH tournament, I don't personally like the KOTH style, especially for the "trial and error" nature of it, everything on BAD-T is made in a way that crafts are created through engineering, hard work and strategy, it's impossible to simply slap something together until it beats the previous one still having no idea what you are doing (which IMO can lead to exploiting game mechanics while avoiding breaking the rules), ofc you can still do that to a point, but then you will not know how it will perform against other people's crafts. KOTH is also a persistence game rather than a design one, and I have already mentioned that BAD-T is all about figuring out which craft is the best. So, if you want to make a KOTH tournament on 1.0.5 using the BAD-T modpack, go for it, create a thread and find a good name and I can help setting up the rules, but that's all I can do. Until BDArmory updates again, BAD-T 3 will be on hold, I will improve the engines, maybe tweak some weapons and give the pack a bit of polish before we move on, maybe even make some tutorials if my accent does not get on the way again. -

@Wadusher and @RaendyLeBeau, probably the fact that the mod has not been ported to 1.1.2, so it should not even work. If you use a mod on an unsupported version you are on your own and there is nothing that you can do other than wait for it to update. Remember that consistently requesting updates is against the forum rules. -

@blackheart612 yes that is true, it's mainly so that you shape it in a way that it looks good with and without them, at your will. About the cockpits, take your time, BAD-T 3 will also have to wait for BDArmory so they may be already under development when the setup starts. For the purpose of the tournament it would be ok if they didn't have IVAs at all, but that depends on if you are interested on making the exteriors of the ones you plan to make before making the IVAs for them (and if you care about that at all). As soon as BAD-T 2 ends I will make configs for your engines for myself and share them here, I will also suggest that AJE configs are made for them on the future.

Do you plan on making WW2 themed airplane cockpits? All the mods I know of which added them stopped being maintained as far as I know, and since your prop engines look so good I am sure you could make pretty cockpits. Also, you can try AviatorArsenal weapons on these props if you want to tweak them to fit weapons nicely.

@starikki I would personally rather if that was never implemented on FAR, it's out of the scope of the mod and a problem with the AI controller rather than the aerodynamics model. Also, the pitch rate scaling is based on Q/v, so they should scale together through a constant. Another problem would be saving those settings per craft since FAR module applies to the vessel rather than a part. I did suggest that this scaling gets applied to BDA but since the development stopped we will have to wait.- 14,073 replies

@g00bd0g I know, it's just that I have way too much stuff going on lately so I cannot run as many battles. But have you learned how to use FAR? You should use the extra time to experiment and learn new techniques, because in the end you will wish there was more time, everybody does -

@Red Iron Crown I was about to ask what did you screw up this time. Nice set of missions, unfortunately my internet and schedule made it impossible for me to fly something this time, but I may be available for the next one! Now that I think about it, does failing manned flights mean that you are KIA and cannot pilot anymore? That would be hardcore.

Well, this mod is not going to be compatible with other mods that modify the actuators or add their own controllers, MAF is meant to be used standalone, even without SAS. So, there is not much I can do about that, I would simply recommend not using the module that fixes the actuators, since MAF compensates for speed to prevent high speed wobble. Thanks for the feedback, the actuator speed will update as soon as MAF updates, which will happen when BDArmory and AviatorArsenal update. -

@Gordon Dry That is not how it works, if you find an issue and want it fixed you need to give a full report, logs and explain every step you took to have it to happen. Then ferram can reproduce it on his side and figure out what is going on. If you don't plan to do that there is no point in reporting the issue, it's incredibly hard to simply magically reproduce something out of nowhere. Also bear in mind that the windows positions are saved on the persistent file, so if you revert they will revert as well.- 14,073 replies

Well, I see ASC is moving towards WW1 airplanes now then, that is neat. I would heavily suggest using Aviator Arsenal's 7mm weapons. The Breda SAFAT currently sounds terrible but I can patch that up if you decide to use AA for this. The thing is that the 50cals are a bit too strong for this kind of battle, especially the Browning that comes with BDArmory. If you need any help or want some suggestions, just ask
