  1. That's really beautiful! If you'll upload it to KerbalX.com I'll put it in the hangar with the other Star Trek ships.
  2. And again muchas gracias for updating my favorite plugin! Your work is incredibly valuable to me (I'll PM you soon about it).
  3. In my experience it does. Put a 5-star engineer on board and you'll see a massive increase in resource conversion and decrease in heat generation. You can observe the numbers for the lower classed engineers and extrapolate from there. I don't know about variables like stupidity.
  4. No problem. My hiatus is extended as well. Something weird called "real life". Can't really put my finger on it. Is it some kind of dream?
  5. Look who's back ;-) Recognize this shape? This is no stock turboprop. It's a stock jet with the looks of that (in)famous fighter of WW2. I'll upload it to KerbalX without paintjob. I can't paint the probe core (the head of the pilot) but maybe @DoctorDavincican do something about that? I'm using 1.4.5 for this one. Anyway, this plane is 3 times larger than the original and 20 times heavier. It still performs okay, its top speed is around 650 km/h at sea level. The original achieves that speed at 6300m. It's powered by 14 Wheesley's (!) giving it a 800 km range just like the original. But no, this plane doesn't really have a TWR >1. I've deliberately kept the amount of air intakes to a minimum. This means no UFO behaviour. WIP: the detachable canopy works fine ... ... the flameout works fine ... ... but the pilot falls apart during bailing out. Anyway ... another CPU killer (530 parts) and not useful at all. But maybe fun. Throw some balls at it or something.
  6. Oops. That's asking for more than a thousand words. Currently RL keeps me occupied. And this topic will be addressed when I start broadcasting with Twitch.
  7. I'm on a hiatus but short races every once in a while is a nice idea. The more rugged the terrain, the better IMHO. The only problem then is terrain detail, it's a totally different race for someone with low detail than high.
  8. If you're over 35 like me, you might remember this one. No, I don't understand my brain but it's one of the better earworms. Quality of the recording could be better though. And let's finish with the standard "YEAH YEAH HIHIHIHIHI HRRRRM" "HUHUHUHUHUHUHU SHUT UP BEAVIS!"
  9. This might help: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russell's_teapot
  10. Sure you can ... but can you cope with the philosophical implications? It would probably violate one of the rules of this forum :-P
  11. Today I felt like making this one. By the way, it can't get to space so this can't turn into a philosophical discussion.
  12. This version kicks the **** out of every other version on the internet. I have a semi-acoustic bass. If I buy an electric I won't stop until it sounds like this one. And yes ... this song gets stuck in my head at least once a month.
  13. While at work, this tune pops up every time. It's from 1977, like myself. Raw. Love it.
  14. Someone made a Big Flying Zero. Which inspired me to build the Big Flying 77. Yes. I know it's stupid.
  15. I've upgraded my savage stock fighter. Top speed has increased from Mach 3.0 to Mach 4.8. And now it can also reach space. I rarely build a fighter but I'm kinda proud of this one. It’s a multi-role. With tanks full (3200 units) it’s a fast interceptor and can supercruise at Mach 2+ at most altitudes. With tanks filled at 1/3 it becomes a dogfighter. While not supermaneuverable (it can't do the cobra maneuver) it’s decent enough for such a heavy crate. How does a sustained 17.5G's at Mach 2.5 sound? And It also becomes a STOL, capable of t/o & landing on the slopes of mountains. The acceleration can be violent! Max TWR with tanks full: 3.1. Max TWR with 100 units of fuel remaining: 7.7! Flight control is excellent. Most of the time you don’t need SAS. Actually you never will. It never stalls (until proven otherwise by some excellent pilot). The only reaction wheel on this plane is disabled. This is pure flying! Fast & lazy control sequence for taking off: Press 3,4,5,Z,1,2. You don’t even need to switch on SAS or touch the controls. Yes it will drive off the runway, no it doesn’t matter. Landing: switch off roll on the rear outboard elevons to make the controls less twitchy. The rest: just try how crazy you can be with this one. The one thing I know for sure is it can’t land inverted. Fun experiment: with dry tanks and at 3000m altitude, at any pitch or roll angle, just toggle the flaps and lower the landing gear. Also switch off SAS. If the terrain is flat enough, it will land itself without control input. There’s enough room for hardpoints for the BDA lovers. This thing can do anything: CAP, bombing, intercept and air superiority. With 200 units of fuel it can reach space in less than 3 minutes! Take off, fly level at 2000m until you reach max speed. Switch of SAS and don’t touch the controls. Max altitude measured: 82km. Flying at Mach 2.2 it has a range of 29.000 km! Max roll rate: 1260 deg/s! Need a quick loss of speed? Fly at Mach 3.5+ at low altitude and tanks almost empty. Engage flaps, pull hard on the stick and presto. Max measured G’s: 134.1! Link
  16. It's a PR disaster. https://imgur.com/a/qLQ3Vzc
  17. Weird bug. Quickload, undock the door/ramp. The hingeballs stay put and the door slowly floats away. I know what to do though, rebuild the door with a different part as root. Another bug: entering/leaving chairs or docking/undocking the door explodes the tires. That's why I've installed retractable landing gear. "No crash damage" also works. But besides that, what do you think of this stock van? It's great for drifting and has a top speed of 253 km/h. Talking about fast delivery!
  18. My SSTO helicopter works on Laythe but only if I increase the blade angle somewhat. Which means you need a probe core and a rotor made from control surfaces. Testing with changing blade angle while running surely is a fine way to see the effects @qzgy. Besides, while you need a lot more air intakes, the Wheesley's efficiency really dominates.
  19. No rage, no panic, just an advice that it would be a bad idea. If KSP would've been a Steam title from the very first start with the limitation of running from Steam it would be a different story and everyone would just accept it. But because of the mod updates situation a lot of users have moved their install to a different location to protect their saves. The turmoil of being forced to play KSP from within Steam would be tremendous. There has been no slightest indication of some previous decisions right?
  20. If this happens I'll leave this platform. I use multiple versions and I will not be dictated this way. Competition is on the rise and I'd go and use my talents elsewhere.
  21. Thanks for the update! A little feedback: Steam workshop integration is ... a disgrace. And it's not even Squad's fault either. I've done almost 330 uploads on KerbalX with ease and with Steam I'm fighting over basic stuff like a GUI like it's from Windows NT. No picture preview, no ability to upload multiple pics at once, file size limits on upload, no memory for last folder visited, no clear way to change the primary picture ... I could go on but without all these basics from a billion dollar corporation vs the excellent website from a single guy in England ... it's like a bad joke in every way. People ... don't waste your time with this backwards stuff, It's like going back to 2002. KerbalX is and will remain the way to go for sharing and downloading craft. Period. Just buy the site from the KerbalX guy and forget this episode. It's worthless. Squad/T2, did you even consult the community before starting this experiment?
  22. The new 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T v2.0! It loves drifting and its top speed is 270 kph. All stock, just painted. https://kerbalx.com/Azimech/77I-1971-Dodge-Challenger-RT-v20 @Bakkerbaard You shouldn't use this one in space. Instead, use this one: https://kerbalx.com/Azimech/77I-Dodge-Space-Charger-v20
