Just popping in to let you all know that the moderation staff has pruned a few posts along a line of conversation that was both off-topic and veering too far for comfort into prohibited political discussion. It has come to the attention of the moderation staff that some heated words have been exchanged in this thread recently. Please keep in mind that, while others may disagree with you on how urgent a particular fix or feature request may be, I'm sure everyone involved in this discussion honestly wants this mod to be the best that it can be. Please remember to conduct all of your discussions in a civil manner, and if you do see a user on either side of the discussion being unfairly harassed or abused, please bring it to our attention through the post reporting system rather than jumping into the thread and responding in kind, as in the end it will allow the mod maker to focus on the issues that really need fixing rather than having to wade through several posts of unnecessary bickering. Welcome to the forums! Several mods have restrictions in their licenses that request they not be redistributed elsewhere without the author's express permission, so this probably would not be a wise idea. Your best bet would be to contact the author(s) of the specific mod(s) that aren't working with the problems that you're having and try to get each issue resolved individually. Keep in mind that some of them may not yet have been updated for 0.24.

I think it's safe to say that this particular mod is probably long dead at this point. I'll be locking the thread, at least until / unless the OP shows up to request it be reopened. EDIT: That said, it's apparently under the MIT license, so there shouldn't be any problems if anyone wants to take the source code and publish their own fork of it updated for 0.24. -

Indeed. If it's a consistent pattern of harassment, you can always report the PM or PMs in question, and the report will show up in the same place as those for reported posts. It may also be helpful to provide a record of any correspondence leading up to that point (whether public or private), so that we have some context.

I updated my own copy through the patcher. Sadly, it seems it still only provides the old 32-bit .exe, not the new 64-bit one.

Of course, the new economy system is going to add a new dimension for measuring efficiency. I'm wondering if there are any cases where the most fuel-efficient design for a given role might not necessarily be the most cost-efficient one... -

The recycling mechanism.

Welcome to the forums! You may be pleased to know that with the upcoming 0.24 update, recycling of a sort will be implemented -- you'll be reimbursed for any parts on a craft that you recover on Kerbin's surface, with the exact value depending on how far away from the Space Center you are when the craft is recovered. So in a sense, the game will already implement your idea. You can find more information on the upcoming update in this FAQ article. -
Unfortunately, the avatar restriction is uniform for all general users. We moderators do have higher resolution avatars, but that's not so much out of status as it is to help with easier identification of moderator posts and actions.

Nicely done! Been a rather big fan of the series all the way back to the first game, myself. Just recently picked up the fourth one and started playing it. -
One thing you might want to keep in mind is that, with the advent of the contracts and currency system in 0.24, you'll be refunded a small bit for each part you bring back safely and recover on Kerbin. So if money is tight, it might still be beneficial to bring the science modules back if you're super-tight on cash.

I'm sort of in the same boat (Sorry) as Red Iron Crown here, in that I haven't really noticed either a need or a net benefit for multiple subforums. The name "Spacecraft Exchange" certainly hasn't stopped people from sharing things that aren't spacecraft in the strict sense over the year or so that I've been active, and I've never noticed it to cause any serious issues. Despite the name, the Spacecraft Exchange is appropriate for any sort of craft, since you can find a role for many different sorts of craft in the context of space exploration. The tagging idea is an interesting one, but I don't know how it would interact with the preexisting [stock] and [Mod Craft] tags, since I think we can only have one tag per thread at a time.

Welcome to the forums! High-school math and physics will actually get you farther than you may think! If you can plot an ellipse or a parabola on a piece of graph paper, then you know everything you need to describe an orbit, and the rocket equation you can use to figure out a craft's delta-v potential only requires basic algebra -- in fact, it's really just good ol' F = ma restated in a way to account for the fact that a rocket's mass is constantly changing as it burns fuel. Glad to hear you've been making good use of the forums already. If you still feel you need help on anything, feel free to ask questions or to check out some of the tutorials and resources I've listed on the Drawing Board (which is conveniently linked through my signature). In general, make yourself at home. Hope this helps!
