Got this into orbit last night: Then proceded to land it at a certain spot in the desert: http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/3296939289159663724/16BD1F82EDB447BC667132C24367B86A1A5271DB/ Needless to say it was a landing and thank goodness for extra reaction wheels: Also used the side mounted docking port part First one I had forgot to put semitry on but was still able to dock, was a challnge for sure and the second was similar but this time I remembered to add them. http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/3296939289147915869/F6CD8E60C932C4B3AABFA278558B893916D55EF5/ http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/3296939289147956520/4359C3F86D00F3BF2228DDA1931B7865CD993E41/

Whackjob is planning on it. But as another mentioned here. I will use the claw to refuel my landers as I don't need to worry about lining up the docking ports.
-
There are 2 if I remember right. One on Mün and the other on Duna. So if you mean more. Tehn yeah that would be great. =^.^=

It is gona explode!

I don't care where I land. Just as long as it is not A SSTO plane that is. Otherwise any flat non-liquid surface will do. But, I do try to go in where I have no re-entry effect as well. Which does not happen often.
-
Nothing new. Tis fun to do that on the Moons. Minmus you can get escape velocity from main sails. On Duna. One main sail can get you high enough up so that the Kerbal can finish the orbit off with his EVA pack. Well Gilly Kerbals just need to jump. Have not tried placing a cannon on it yet to fire a Kerbal off. Most likely the will Leave Eve's SOI. Or the Very lest make it very far out unless they are heading towards Eve. Last night I flew this SSTO craft: As you can see it has tipped wings going down which made flying intresting when turning. It kept rolling to one side or the other. Now I know if it was even with the rest it would have had no problems at all. But, I wanted to try out a craft similar to SG-1s Death glider design. Still.. It flies nice on Kerbin and can land as well even at strange angles. =^.^=

All my SSTO planes are like that. Heck. Even one of my rovers that was transported by said SSTO planes is like that too.
-
Well I landed 2 SSTO space place from Kerbin on Eve: The only snag was I found out that one of my planes was missing a part. Don't recall if I accedently blew it off during a docking or was never on it? The other plane that is targeted and not in view was what delievered the All it had that was diffrent was that it lacked the T800 fuel tank at the rear.
-
Well. Had fun landing at an angle: Only the tip to the right wing was torn off. Leaving the one flap hanging: Not bad for a night landing. But, a fail for Eve return craft. This is an earily version that was able to still stay aloft under its own power till I was bored and reverted to hanger: http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/3296938495507752938/8B5B43CA586F7003A0C2B0D06066BA6D46204FFB/ http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/3296938495507752938/8B5B43CA586F7003A0C2B0D06066BA6D46204FFB/

Well, Anming Kerman has Finally returned from Laythe aftert 1600+ days away from Kerbin. Had to aero-brake to make it down as there was not enough oxidiser for the nukes nor did I feel like waiting till Kerbin slows me down enough to enter with what little fuel I did have left. Fortunately the I had Rapiers on that where able to slow down my re-entry enough to enter as well as drop off the not supposed to come with it pusher that had a lot more science I could have gained (true I have nothing to spend it on, tis the thought that counts). Anyways... Had more then enough fuel to turn to the nearest land as I was above water at the time and glided my way down to safety. Sadly the Rapiers broke off during landing when they should not have. Must have been a steep enough incline at the rear of the craft even though it looked flat enough:

Do you land on The Mun or do you land on Mun?
Aragosnat replied to SiliconPyro's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I land on Mün or the Mün. So no vote for me. -
Long Range Ship - Problems
Aragosnat replied to StainlessSteelRat's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Do have to agree that the normal docking ports are not good for anything to large. And anything longer then the T-400 fuel tanks you should be using Sr. ports or multi-ports as the farther away from your CoM the more torque will be placed upon the object. The other thing I noticed outside of needed better or more ports is. That is it is a line and might be helpful once you get your wobble fixed is to make the profile like a + as that would give you an even turning all around. -
Yes. Jeb would do it too.
-
Well successfully lited off Laythe and this was what I had left for a 330 km + circular orbit roughly: Now. I need to wait and see if. My refueler / pusher can get to laythe and then push it back to Kerbin. With hopefully enough fuel to then have the SSTO land back onto Kerbin (hopefully on flat land and not water, at least I have a chute if need me).

I believe this sums up what I did today nicely: Had to detach the nuke that I had docked to the craft just to make it able to land as well as manuelly switch to jet mode as the auto switch refused to do it. Might have to add 1 or 2 more reaction wheels to help make the craft more stable in space as well as in flight on Laythe at least. Oh yeah. Had to unlock the front steering wheel just so I could use my momentom from landinging to turn the craft around.
-
Think yer right too about jets and nuke. But, this was just testing to see how far it could go as well as hopefully being able to work just about any where else as well. Next Test will be Duna.I do like the fact I don't have to take down the engine if I don't have to. The only problem currently is that the nuke has no probe to make it not list as debries and second, no way for it to re-attach easily back to the plane. RCS would have worked very well in this case.

Got this little SSTO Space Place around Jool (Jool right above left RAM Jet Intake): With the goal of flying landing then hopefully taking off from Laythe. I do Have a refueler that has followed the plane in. Might have to ditch the Nuke before landing as that will have some spare fuel that will be transfered over so the Rapiers have fuel to run off of. Hopefully it will be enough asumining I have enough fuel after getting a Laythe orbit.
-
Currently have a SSTO Kerbal Piloted Space Plane around Jool with a refueling ship for my attempt to fly and the land upon one of the island on Laythe then attempt to get back into space. Otherwise it will be a long wait for that poor Kerbal (if he lives that is). He already spent over a year in space alone as is.

Is this a good first time getting to Minmus?
Aragosnat replied to Clockwork13's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Yes it is good. Overkill is better then "Doh! Need moar fuel." Just means you can make your lander fatter when visiting Minmus again for each area. -
Over 11k right now. Still getting ready to get samples from place I can visit.

Today was a really lucky KSP day for me...
Aragosnat replied to Clockwork13's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Ah. Good times those where. You could post the look of the ship. But, what you spend yer points on next is yer call. Build a craft that can leave Eve. =^.^=
