  1. Being old and having yelled "get off my lawn" twice this week, I'm actually not sure what Discord really is....
  2. 3rd dozen-th.... seems to be a weekly thread I see. It would be nice if instead of starting a new one, somebody would make a thread in the forums that lists all the KSP discords out there, and then curates the list as it grows.
  3. One of my dreams if I win the lottery is to host Kerbal-Kon.....
  4. KAS has anchors and harpoons that can attach to winches.
  5. In before it's locked. The search bar works wonders for cases like this.

I think I'm enacting the 1 week ban on @lapis for that faux pas! Shame! Hey thats a gap of 20!!! Wooot!
  7. The fins are so large, that the batter can't cling to the sides, and falls right through. What does stick to the fins, you now realize Ti is not a non-stick material. You then realize you spent around $100,000 on a giant fly swatter that the flies can go right through, and after trying to cook with it, all it does it attract flies. I wish my mouse pointer would stop twitching.

And we were on a roll... And since the next prime has become a number that represents so much to our modern world... I'll go with two pics:
  9. No, @Just Jim, no. I am not used to that name meshing with that avatar, nor "staff" yet.... I need time....
  10. This is the thing... we have mods to add more planets, and they have the infrastructure in place to "easily" add more bodies to the stock game. But that will just give us more places to go and do nothing. They need to work on a mechanic to give more of a purpose to Stations, bases and rovers. This game is awesome in it's gameplay for getting to a place, but lacks significantly once you get there. Apparently, whomever said "It's not the destination, it's the journey", works for Squad.

We shoulda done this from the start... but non pics are still acceptable! Because soon we'll run out of good pics with the number in them...

691.... And a shameless plug here.... Due to the educational nature of this thread, and the surprising amount of fun I am having with this, perhaps a few of you could nominate this for ToTM? I refuse to nominate my own thread, so a plea for the masses to rise up and support your primes!

  15. But those ranges assume a certain density for gravity to do it's thing. The Death star would have been mainly hollow, given people live inside, and hollow structures use less material to build than more solid structures. The Death Star would probably be buoyant given it's low density, but then again, Saturn would also float. Because of all the people space in the Death star, I would figure the diameter would have to be a few orders of magnitude bigger for gravity to start overwhelming the structural supports of the vessel.
  16. 1) Build a big rocket. 2) Bring lots of fuel. 3) Go to Jool. 4) Profit.
  17. I use a part failure mod, so I do require myself to setup abort plans for manned missions.
  18. I would say this is more correct than mess, as we are talking a bar type area for recreation and socialization, not strictly for meals and such. I am imagining this: more than this:
  19. They were required in mine. Calculators are just tools. So it depends on the intent of the lesson to be learned. Do they need to know the concepts and do them manually or mentally? Or just knowing how to apply them work?
  20. Rereading your post, I missed this little nugget. This is already in game. A manned vessel within range of a probe can control it. But unmanned control, I'm kinda against it.
  21. Aside from the threads Ben mentioned, a mod guide for KSP does not exist, and never will. There are way too many combinations of mods that make for a really enjoyable experience to say that any one set is "THE" way to mod. Sure, there are big mods that do well with specific types of other mods, and there are recommended accessory mods for a lot of mods out there. But any one mod that another player here might refuse to play without, I could care less about, and vice versa. There is no definitive modding guide for KSP, because it is impossible to write one.
  22. I actually prefer to launch into the same plane as minmus.... that way I don't have to muck around with inclination changes at all. But then again, I do rely on MJ for this, but I have done it by hand a number of times just to do it by hand.
