  1. Take a hard look at how much effort you are going to put into repairing this thing, vs the cost of new one. A very usable meter these days is pretty cheap.
  2. If you are interested in doing exactly what your question is asking, check out the mod StageRecovery. It will try to recover any stages that re-enter Kerbins atmosphere, and convert them to funds for you.
  3. You should look up the pics and videos of old rockets we had to build before autostrut. Some of those things looked like they are covered in spiderwebs. I love the fact I don't have to manually add struts any more, I can just autostrut a couple key modules and my ship is stable.
  4. Are we talking using KIS? There's a manual that explains all this.... Large parts over 1 ton need extra kerbals to help hold/lift it.
  5. Yeah, having go to lengths to give all my kerbals a smooth and safe ride (perma-death, part failures, Life support to add challenge), I had just never considered going in the opposite directions. These kerbals are a bunch of sick puppies I'll tell you what.... Shoulda done one of the rides from IVA....
  6. So, @SpannerMonkey(smce), how many hours in modding have you done? So if you divide the $100 by that many hours..... let's see carry the 2... you get right around bumpus per hour right? Pretty sure that's way below minimum wage in developing countries. To make it worth the time of the modder to feel they have been properly rewarded, I would expect to see a 4-5 figure payout for the rights to the mod. Of course, there's lots of legal mumbo jumob that goes back and forth there, but not the point. To most people who work for a living, $100 is a few hours to a days pay. The modders have put in way more than this.
  7. I think that's way way low.... I've collided with a station I was trying to dock with during the circularization burn during a launch to rendezvous, but I was supposed to get close, just not that close. I called it docking with emphasis.
  8. Tacoma Narrows Bridge.... Godzilla! jr! During the running of the bulls.....
  9. 40.4468° N, 80.0158° W , December 31, 2017 at 1545 EST. Would have made it worth watching. Even though @GoSlash27 would probably disagree.
  10. 3044: You find a door, engraved on it is a wild rose entangled around a revolver, yet you choose not to open it. (Handful of Kerbucks to anyone who appreciates this one)
  11. Forget Jobs, a list of things to invest in....
  12. They are designed to work more like ice skates than skis. You can barely make it out, but you can see the middle of the wheel is raised above the edges. They did an episode of startalk a couple years ago where the pilot/driver of this thing talks through the whole procedure of driving it. It's a 5 minute monologue that is absolutely delightful to listen to. I think the episode is behind a paywall now though :(.
  13. And the footprint too narrow. Plop those legs on the bottom of that tank, and it will both lower your CoM and increase the size of the footprint. The legs should reach the ground without the engine hitting.
  14. That's a nifty little design you got there. Are those vertical bars struts? You can probably do without those. Why get rid of the heat shield? If you are having problems with re-entry heat, use a heat shield. That tight little probe you have should fit nicely behind a heat shield. If the smaller heat shields aren't holding up, use a second one right below it. What might be causing the drag is not the box, but the experiments themselves, they seem to stick out a bit from the edge of the probe.
  15. Or... you can just bite the bullet, and write off the probe as lost. A hard lesson learned, but one most have learned the hard way (in one form or another, be it batteries, panels, or docking ports). But short of editing the craft file (which is pretty risky if you don't know what you are doing), or permanently disabling commnet, there is no easy way to regain control. You could send a manned shp up there to add an antenna, but that takes more work and cost than it's worth. And you could just send a replacement in the next window anyways, so....
  16. Check the install. May not have all the files. I'd go find the latest build current for your version of KSP and reinstall it. Strike all that. I believe the pod was phased out many moons ago. Sometimes rovers just drive wonky. I'd check the MJ thread to see if anybody else has had the same issues.
  17. While there may be some truth to this, didn't the console port come a year or so after the 1.0 release? It is probably true that a console developer wouldn't touch it without it being in full release, but I don't think that was the major reason.
  18. I believe, good sir, that a save is created whenever you click "Jump to Ship" when an alarm pop up appears.... But I've never had to use it yet.....
  19. I'm very curious about this one.... Looking back 5 years ago, I'd have to say drink less and date fewer strippers, but even then it's a hard argument to make. Probably, when faced with the choice, commit to this girl, not that girl. 20 years ago, much different conversation. Even then it may have been too late. 22 years could have saved me.
  20. BAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Good, but no. I was joking when I said: It was actually a direct copy from IMBD of the description of The Cloverfield Paradox. Nope, but amusing. I think the humor comes from watching people adapt your poor descriptions to movies other than you intended.
  21. Singing in the rain. Monsters Inc How does it not fit? Lost on mars. uses martian soil to grow potatoes, using dried poo. Blows up the water reactor he made. This is more from the book than the movie. Finally makes contact with Earth, the Ares comes back for him, against the wishes of NASA, Drives the rover across mars. They return him to Earth, which unless our telescopes really suck, is the closest city to him.
  22. I was sure it was the Martian after the first line. --------- Orbiting a planet on the brink of war, scientists test a device to solve an energy crisis, and end up face-to-face with a dark alternate reality. Oh wait.... I thought it was explain a bad film. -------- Ok for reals.... Lone hermit makes a wager with a ruthless land owner, and along with an annoying sidekick, reneges on the wager, destroys the prize, and keeps what's left for himself. ET. The Dark Night Rises. Paul. Or a New Hope. Or possibly even ET again...
  23. Use the tips I gave in this thread: To find all the versions of the mods for the version of KSP you are using. If you are bent on using a particular mod, and it won't work with the current version of KSP, consider changing KSP versions till you find one that works across all mods.
  24. Probably my favorite episode of that series..... Other than that, I have no comment.....
