Is using F12 (aerodynamic forces overlay) considered as cheating?
KerbMav replied to EditorRUS's topic in KSP1 Discussion
unsullied
Careful what you wish for ... -
First Mun landing in this save, flyby of a probe at Minmus, first Minmus and second Mun expedition on route, rovered the KSC for science (and packed a copy of everything onto the rover to transfer them up to the Orbital Science Lab for further processing), planning an interstellar test flight (to cheaply cash in on a Kerbol station contract while training the troops), planning a probe mission to Duna and preparing to launch the necessary communication equipment for it.
Those Overrides should probably be removed if you want to see lower memory usage now.
Yeah, that actually did something! Thx. -
Snow in Germany.... I was stationed in Crailsheim in the 80's. Not sure if it's actually in Bavaria,
Baden-Wuerttemberg We have had two really snowy years - but last year was just a mix of a bit snow and rain - in my area no snow yet this year.

Is the BoulderCo.cfg out of date btw.? Because EVE does not use this folders structure anymore? Does this have any notable effect though or will ATM compress anyway?
ACTIVE_TEXTURE_MANAGER_CONFIG { folder = BoulderCo enabled = true OVERRIDES { BoulderCo/Clouds/.* { compress = true mipmaps = true scale = 1 max_size = 0 make_not_readable = false } BoulderCo/Atmosphere/.* { compress = true mipmaps = true scale = 1 max_size = 0 make_not_readable = false } } }
-
For Questions That Don't Merit Their Own Thread
KerbMav replied to Skyler4856's topic in Science & Spaceflight
One nice thing about being in space is it's always night, and the stars are always out. So, you can compare where the object in question is relative to them. In fact, if you can make out the planet's disc (or bounce a laser off it) then you only need it (and the stars), as you'll know your distance AND direction.
I am nitpicking.
There is only one point in space, for any given time, that is exactly where those two lines intersect. You are there.
-

But without knowing your exact orientation - or a third point/second planet - you would only know that you are somewhere on a circle, no? -
There is this pack of head textures for the Trio that has become - after I got used to them being somewhat older than imagined at first - somewhat (non)-official-canon for me. Wondering if I could find something similar for Val too - suggestions? :)

The city lights in the current EVE release look that good that I am actually considering to keep them in - whether there are cities on Kerbin or not! :D -
I started my career mode again as my space station exploded when i loaded it up, and all other craft.
Today I will have copied my save files just in case this was a bug from a mod I maybe using too.

Lunniye has been active on the 16th - maybe sent him a PM? :)

You mean the second one in this pack here? With some reading and tweaking you might be able to create your super kerbal. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/117530-HMV-s-Simple-MM-Configs-NEW-2015-11-19-HeatShield-Decoupler

The mod's thread does not give a license - does it say anything in the downloaded files? Maybe someone can revive it if you provide him with your backup - should this be allowed by a licensing. [1.3] Kerbal Joint Reinforcement v3.3.3 7/24/17
KerbMav replied to ferram4's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I think there is a problem with KJR.. When I load a scenario..of course I will start with a ship but after the game loads the save/scenario the ship rotates at its self...I used my joystick to turn it around but then...The whole ship disintegrates and goes to escape velocity of kerbin
Happens to me too (with scenarios) and I do not use KJR.- 2,647 replies

Sent a Minmus probe on its way and all four comrades are on their way to circle Mun for a bit to pick a good landing site for later. Shopping List: 2.5m pods, tanks and engines - urgent!

[1.3.1] Ferram Aerospace Research: v0.15.9.1 "Liepmann" 4/2/18
KerbMav replied to ferram4's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
extra drag without the corresponding extra mass.
Well if you phrase it that way ... Thx! Edit: No, stop, wait a minute ... fairings are meant to reduce the drag from the payload, no? So why should a slim fairing not really wider then the 1.25m tank below it add to drag when it covers a blunt, bulgie payload only going a little bit higher to form a nice tip?- 14,073 replies

KerbMav replied to ferram4's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
There is a better rule: do not make fairings larger than the body of the rocket right bellow it. If you do, keep it to a minimum.
Are we talking wide or high here? And is it logical that it works that way - I mean wide I would get, but high should do nothing, no?- 14,073 replies

I usually refer to it as Kerbal, as KSP did not stuck with my friends and then only to communicate what I am doing at the moment - I do not have anyone to talk to about KSP outside this forum sadly. :P
Say what?

Say 'what' again. I landed a small probe on Moho just once - after several quite fast flybys that should have been orbits. But I cannot remember how ... might have to dive into old screenshots, although I regularly forget making them ...

Just a mission for Bob to LKO and HKO to play with science gizmos and get more parts unlocked. Next will be a probe landing on Mun with a sample return - that should give me enough to bring this incarnation of the Trio to the Mun for the first time ... poor Valentina will have to wait for the next one ... will give her the post of CAPCOM to make up for it though. Edit: Scrolling up in this thread ... Minmus! Totally forgot about all the science there! Updating Mun probe for longer distance flight now!
