  1. Well clearly the rocket is set correct. It's the fueling station that's wrong. Here's a general question: Can SAS still rotate the ship if you are controlling a different ship? So if you jump in the station and make it rotate, will the rocket rotate along with it?
  2. That should work. I did it all the time with Mechjeb ASS before .90 (which did basicly the same thing as a fully leveled pilot)
  3. So having installed NEAR for my new beta game, I have run into something very weird. When I started using Mechjeb, my ships started spinning out of control. After doing a few test flights to confirm, I remembered the COL overview, and indeed. Mechjeb throws my COL out of wack ( picture ) My guess is that, in making it massless and dragless to ensure it doesn't matter where you put it on your craft, NEAR turns it into a wing. So my question is: is there anything I can do about this? I feel like I'm flying blind without atleast 2 mechjeb info windows up Extra question: What is the new deltaV requirement to get to orbit with NEAR? I noticed it's significantly less, but does anyone have the numbers?
  4. You mean 'if you test what happends to an engine that has no fuel, it's still a test'
  5. I'm not sure kickstarter should turn into a glorified shareholder thing. Shareholders demanding profits is the whole reason companys can't plan ahead, but need instant profit. Though some actual voting power in the decisions (not to much. Because again, people are stupid), rather than having to hope the devs actually do what they promised would be good. Basicly some laws that give backers influence, to ensure the money is well spent
  6. Thing is, most space tourists won't be up there long enough for it to matter. Gastration takes a few days, and by that time you're back on the surface
  7. Yea, that's what Elite did. Demanded an extra 40 dollars for the privilage of testing the beta. It's one of the reasons I didn't buy it, I was really stoked for the game (I tried it on someone else's account and found out: Holy crap this game is BORING)
  8. While a funny tradition, that really doesn't help the new guy trying to understand the game. At best it is weird, at worst it might confuse someone
  9. Because some people deceided that without gender identificating features, Kerbals are male, and thus there should be females. Those people shouted loud enough, and here we are
  10. Mass efficient, or Funds efficient? Cause in career mode, SRBs are better for that initial push, because they are so cheap. My go to satelite launcher is basicly 1 gigantic SRB with winglets, which is enough to get to orbit. And than something tiny to get to whatever Mun it needs. Can't get it cheaper
  11. Very impressive. But you have to include the craft file, or noones going to be able use her
  12. Isn't that how all claims on new land work though? Park your flag there and shoot anyone who tries to do the same.
  13. A mirror uses and focusses the already incoming energy of the sun. A laser would require some power source
  14. You may not like it, but that's baislcy how all first attempts go. The fact that you reached it at all is a good first start. A good first start would be a Mun flyby. Costs less fuel, and gives you a feel of what it takes. Than, you go to the Mun, get in orbit, and go back to Kerbal. Gives you another feel for how much it takes. After you mastered that, try a landing
  15. Probably because testing on human embrios is a little unethical
  16. I think the system is awesome, but it goes a little to far. The idea that small indie devs can open up the development of a game to the public, and have the public take an active role in the development is great. KSP is the perfect example, with several mods directly intigrated in the game as proof. BUT, there are some major downsides to. For starters, nothing is stopping the devs from just giving up on the project (be it with nefarious intent or not), and everyone who put money in it can suck it. Secondly, and this is one of the things I see most, people hide behind the Early Acces tag to avoid critisism. If you're selling something for money, it should be fully open to full critic. And it should atleast be in a decent playable state. Finally, it should be made REALLY clear that you should ONLY buy an early acces game if you really want to support the development
  17. That's an older version. You used to be able to reuse all science parts, but now the biggest one need cleaning after a single use (you need a science lab to clean. Without, they are simply single use)
  18. All that knowledge comes with playing for years already. Soon you'll walk your kerbals around on Duna and think back on how you fumbled. A quick tip to get to the Mun: Once you are in orbit, rotate the map view so that you are looking down from the North pole (so the Mun moves counter clockwise in a circle from your perspective). Rotate the map view so that the Mun is on the right side of your screen. Put a manouver node at the bottom of the screen. Add prograde deltaV until you have an encounter. Manipulate the manouver node to get a proper encounter. For example, if you pull it back a little you can get a cheaper encounter. Or to put it in super simple terms: Burn once you see the Mun rise on the horizon, and you will get an encounter. Note that without an upgraded tracking station you don't get a visual conformation when you reach an encounter, so I suggest practicing this in sandbox first
  19. Isn't it more the overal mechanics of maintainance that is build around the notion of gravity, so that is what needs to be adepted, not the cells directly Because sticking to the ground is not gravity. There is still no force pulling down the fluids in your body, or putting force on your bones and muscles
  20. It would do nothing to offset the negative effects of microgravity, only take away the fun parts (floating)
