  1. Hello! My name is Harrison Ford. You may recognize my name from some movies I was in. (Sorry I'll read the rest in quiet now)
  2. It's not. It's supposed to keep THEM from getting discouraged. From things like
  3. You're never gonna give that up, are you?
  4. You specifically asked where they would be used in KSP2, and did not mention that "Unreal" was buried somewhere in that long page of stuff no one who isn't job hunting is going to read. I think it's reasonable to assume Aziz simply took what you said at face value.
  5. This is literally what I - a huge positive-vibe proponent of not being all mad at KSP2 devs/publishers/whatever - have been saying since the day they announced the game would be EA. Good to know you finally see the light. Don't buy something you don't want just because some day it might be better. Buy things that you want in the state they currently are for the price they're currently being offered and you'll never walk away unhappy.
  6. Are you talking about unlocking the Maneuver Node Tool in Career mode? You need to upgrade 2 buildings to get the Maneuver Node editor. The first is the Tracking Station to level 2, to get Patched Conics. The second is Mission Control to level 2 to get Maneuver Nodes. To upgrade buildings, right click them and you'll see how much they cost to upgrade, and what they currently do. If you hover your mouse over the upgrade button, it will tell you what you'll get when you upgrade the building.
  7. Please no one do this. Buying discounted Steam keys for ANYTHING is a global economics jerk move.
  8. You can just copy the "image link" and paste it in your post. Or copy what I put below. The software will realize it's a link to an image and replace the text with the actual image. https://i.imgur.com/vMEksvh.png (no clue on the rest, just helping with Imgur)
  9. I started playing KSP1 in 2013, and IMO those early years were my favorite. I'm not sure how much of it was that they were the early years of the game, or the early years of me playing the game, but I probably played 10x more in those first 3 years than I have all the years since. So I can totally understand this
  10. To address both of your points: 1. No one knows when - or even if - the minimum specs will come down or what they will come down to. It's best to expect them to not come down much, so you'll be happily surprised when they do. 2. Yes it's more expensive than most think it's worth. I agree with you that it's not worth what they're charging and I can even get it for less than $77. My advice to you is to pretend it doesn't exist for a while, and check back on it whenever you hear either that it's been updated or it goes on sale. At that point, see if the new content or lower price makes it worth purchasing. That's what I'm doing.
  11. Wow that Doomsday Meteor looks bad. Today I watched the first half of the first episode of Another Life. I'll keep watching it but not because of any of the below. We have a space ship that can travel faster than light, have FTL communications, and can control gravity. But everything else seems to be exactly like now. There is no indiction that we've ever actually left our solar system - or space near our planet - before this episode. Maybe they just didn't want to infodump. Maybe. The ship is going the wrong way because we thought the star was one place, but actually it was gravationally lensed by a dark matter cloud. To fly through the cloud at FTL would be bad because - I kid you not - they could run into a planet. So instead they're going to go around the dark matter cloud, by means of a gravity assist from Sirius A. ...so they go into orbit. They need to make 3 orbits for some reason, then they'll have enough gravity or something to ... do the thing I guess. Orbiting a Type-A star at roughly LEO-like altitude is bad, apparently. I know this because it made the ship shake a bunch. So much that the captain ordered them to break orbit after only 2 orbits. I do not know what they are going to do now that they didn't get enough... assistive gravity I guess... to make their entire maneuver. Because that's where I stopped watching for now.
  12. If your orbit is a circle, the Ap and Pe are basically the same so even a tiny change can move them around. When they do that, you can just ignore them because all they're telling you is that they're both about equal to your average orbit height.
  13. Interesting. They didn't make me do that. Yes. Because (as I said above) no one made me buy it. I looked at the game, looked at the price, and decided to pass.
  14. This image just makes me happy.
  15. I seriously doubt making up these challenges takes up any dev time. Giving players goals is a good way to drive interest. Until the game itself gives the players goals, this is a harmless way to do that.
  16. If you allow in the game - and the players are comfortable with - round trips taking years at the very least and more likely dozens of years - then interstellar won't be that much different than interplanetary. Just bigger engines with better ISP and/or more fuel. If you want Star-[Trek|Wars] type interstellar where ships hop around and people can in their lifetimes* touch foot on the surfaces of dozens of planets without a thought... then no that's not going to happen. *I know Kerbals don't have a natural lifespan and could spend a billion years coasting to each planet. You know what I mean.
  17. I'm in a similar boat, but for me it's... I honestly hope you'll not get much complaints if some of this stuff doesn't come to fruition.
  18. The 3000-years-dead Egyptian pharaoh Ramesses II has a(n expired) passport. (spoilered because the image is kinda big)
  19. ...on a planet. In space it's a convenient unit, at least until you need to star thinking in Gigameters.
  20. To be fair if you could manipulate gravity at will they might fly a bit better
  21. So the game's harder than a lot of reviewers prefer. That doesn't sound all that bad. Number scores are nothing. I personally ignore them. One person's 9 is another's 2.
