The game being in alpha is a bit of a laugh; on one level it's obviously true, but on another--first it goes to QA, then to experimentals, then to release. That's as much testing as patches for gone-gold games get. The folder renaming has its downsides, but IMO (as pointed out) they are outweighed tremendously by the upsides. Further, I want to make a general point: Squad should always, always, always feel free to break mods for the sake of improvement. Indeed, the reverse (preserving bad things for "mod compatibility") has been a problem, and Squad should be *thanked* for escaping that model.

Do .PNG Textures Support Mip-Mapping?

The loader has two relevant bugs: 1. TGA files are not compressed to DXT (hence take up 4x to 6x more memory than they should) 2. Some PNG files do not get mipmaps generated (some do? Confusing). Both bugs are fixed by Active Texture Management, and the Basic version does not scale texture size and therefore leaves quality unaffected. -

As Chris says (I also had access) 0.25 Winx64 is far, far, far less stable than 0.24. If it had been as stable as .24, we almost certainly would not have disabled Winx64 support in our mods. The reason for MM inclusion is because none of us know whether users will use more than one mod; one *never* wants to release a mod that lacks required files. -

Assuming your entry costs are all "as desired" and you're not using MODEL on any Squad parts (paths changed) that should be it for partmods. -

NoMrBond: in .24, we tried just a warning. It didn't work. Heck, people ignore CompatabilityChecker warnings all the time, even when it's about shifting KSP versions, not just x86-x64 stuff! That's why a lot of us moved to, finally, actually lock stuff down on CC check fail. You can look back at my posts on the CC thread where I was arguing against doing so. Sadly, I was proven wrong. -
Not criticizing, just clarifying! BTW--not sure you got my PM a ways back. Would you prefer it if RO included the actual assets, with very explicit licensing, or as now asked people to come here to download the pack (at the risk of posting on this thread)?

sumghai: that's great! Thanks so much for doing the detailed testing (that I kinda figured you already had, but had to ask). Editing. (Diazo, also relevant) newlive: Precise Node has the same issue Toolbar does: there's an issue with how nlizzy is getting his compatibility info, it will be resolved shortly (aka tomorrow, probably). He has cleared them both for .25, but due to changes in CompatibilityChecker that isn't being reported. magico, Starstrider42, RoverDude: thanks.
