Because hair doesn't move and stop in sub-milimeter distances. It moves much more than that. It's probably a Show and Tell or Feature Video. My money's on Show and Tell because we just had a Feature Episode, too soon for another, not unless they are increasing the frequency of their postings. A dev diary we just got, yeah, so no way it will be one. So yeah, Show and Tell, more than likely... I'd say... 83% certainty. There's ton that hasn't discussed. I mean, there's still millions of things they could do a feature episode on. The one I'd be most interested in is colonies. Anybody got the link to that timeline update of KSP 2 graph thing?

Ant's don't move their legs in sub-millimeter distances. Just realized what you were trying to do. You do realize that that's not sub-millimeter movement? That's moving your finger 1 mm. If you were to move your finger from location 0.0 mm to 0.1 mm, that would not be perceived.

Or we can talk about what will be dropping Friday January 27th at 9 AM EST. No, but sub-millimeter is so small, you need special equipment to perceive the movement. You can't even move your finger sub-milimeter distances. Not unless you have some of the most stable hands in the world. Even then it would be near impossible.

All the context clues are there. "Placement" aka moving an object to put it into place. Offset tool, moves parts around. Register, synonym for perceive. As in perceiving motion. (Actually, thinking about it, this one might be a stretch... so I'll give you that one.) And if you go back to the very first post I respond to back on page 131, Vl3d mentions "I consider the misalignment a bug. We're expecting sub-milimeter precision." Misalignment bug, as in placement or moving the object into place. Now, I probably should have included that in the reply, so I do apologize for that, but the context was there. Placement, yes, as in movement. Nothing about object size. Was referring to movement using the offset tool. Literally mention the offset tool in the post you quoted. The context is there. Nope. Again, movement. The context is there. Do I really need to say movement in every post? I would think not since this post is an addon to the last one, which is talking about movement distance. No, it isn't. Literally in the first post you quoted I mention the offset tool, AKA movement. I might not say the word, but it's implied. Okay, that was good. I can't be mad at that one. Good joke.

What does that have to do with the argument we're having? If you're going to say "If you can see the marks on a ruler, you can see sub-millimeter" let me save you the time and say, no you can't. Sub-millimeter is not perceivable to most people. Our eyes are designed to see patterns and movement. Sub-millimeter is too small for us. You move a soda can sub-millimeter lengths away from where it started while having someone watch, I guarentee you they'll ask the scientists if they moved it after a couple of minutes. Sub-millimeter rigid body physics does not exist. I used Ctrl+F (Find) To search the page.

Not to mention possible kraken territory having the parts THAT close. Everything you just quoted, is just about space travel. Nowhere in any of the quotes or the thread you link, do they mention rigid body physics. You do realize I said, "Without special equipment." Because it's true. A millimeter is about the thickness of your fingernail, give or take. Now imagine your fingernail cut into 10 pieces so they're sub-millimeter. That's how small a sub-millimeter is. That tiny amount of movement is not perceivable by most people without a microscope or at least magnification glasses. So putting sub-millimeter movement on parts is ridiculous and no human, imo, can do that in game, even if they use the offset tool and a DPI mouse set so low they're cursor takes years to move. My argument is not absurd.

Again, sub-millimeter does not pertain to the ridged body physics. See my previous comment. You're entitled to your opinion, but what I said was true. The sub-millimeter system is for space travel, not rigid body physics or part placement.

That only applies to TRAVELING. Not to parts or anything else. Sub-millimeter part placement is overkill and totally not needed, considering the offset tool will not be able to do sub-millimeter in the first place. Let alone the human eye can't really register sub-millimeter without special equipment. It is a complete rewrite. And can it really be considered a KSP 1 bug if the timewarp system is completely brand new and totally rewritten? No. It can't imo. This is a KSP 2 timewarp bug.

You know, with how things are looking, I think this is what happened: One of the devs built (under a rush possibly) the entire thing in the VAB, hence the shotty craftsmanship. (Node in the cargo bay, which the node is way too big for) They then cheated it into orbit of Duna, or they cheated it to Ike or Kerbin orbit and used the engines to get a flyby of Duna. Time warped. The Time Warp Kraken happened as it does making everything jitter around. They didn't have time to go back to do it properly. We ended up with this.

Some modders might be able to do some trickery, or a modder might make a subterranean system for KSP 2. But as far as official support, I don't think we'll see any subterranean stuff as I believe the planet creator can't do it. If it can, it's probably a janky half-baked thing that has a lot of bugs in it and so they're avoiding it. It would be kool, yes, but we might not get anything like that, at least for a while. Hell, I imagine it will take modders a long time to come up with something to even make that work.- 59 replies

To add to this, when it was in an editor/renderer, they always said it was. Look at the show and tell stuff. You'll see "Test scene for asset testing" at the bottom.

More than likely, no. The terrain system can't support caves IIRC, and if it can't support caves, it can't support multi-layer crust. That and the terrain isn't destructible. You'd need a destructible terrain to 'drill or melt.'- 59 replies

Not really. Early Access. Things will improve over time. At least they should. I wouldn't worry about it until we're getting closer to 1.0 and it hasn't been fixed.- 59 replies

Yeah, but I wish we knew the exact time. Discord is saying Release is at 5AM CST. Of course, when asked about it, all the devs say is that an exact timeline will be released in "Early February." They don't confirm or deny the time. So, we don't really know what time the release is. I'm going by the general rule that most games release around 12PM either CST or EST. Hence why the countdown clock down in my signature is set for Noon CST.
