  1. 1) Maybe as a late game thing? Possibly even end game. New players should learn the difference between direct and relay antenna imo and kind of be forced to open up a relay system. 2) Rebroadcasting a message happens IRL, so direct antenna on a relay sat should be able to send the signal, yeah. Although, your scenario is kind of unrealistic. If you have a 2 million km range direct antenna, you should have an equally powerful relay antenna. Why would you bring a 2 million Km direct, and only like a 100 km relay antenna?
  2. Just to add to this, Intercept could use an algorithmic system that filters forum posts based on keywords, most repeated phrases or whatever. The system could flag anything with the word "Bug" in it and moderators or admins of the forums will look at it, see if it's a legitimate bug report, then send it over to Intercept for review. The system would allow the filtering of bugs, positive feedback and white noise.
  3. Honestly, I feel like having Nertea's mods as stock is very good. Nertea himself felt they were good enough to reuse, and tbh, he's right. His parts are of the highest quality and can't be beat. As for KSP 2 being an entirely different game, it's not. It's KSP 1 expanded. The code has been rewritten, yes, but at the core KSP 2 is KSP 1, just with new features and new parts and new vision. This. Also, from what I understand of copyright, only 10% of the 'copy' (For lack of a better word) needs to be changed to avoid copyright infringement. So, they could use the same model, but change the paint on it. Like how the 5m cargo bay parts of the reusable launcher we saw are silver instead of white. Also also, Nertea could have given his permission. His mods are All Rights Reserved, yes, but he could have given expressed permission for Intercept to reuse his assets. So, no copyright infringement was done.
  4. That's the nature of EA. The features will come with time. The Devs are doing this so they can make sure every part of the game is as good as they can make it. Don't worry. Firstly, no such thing as "Too much community feedback." There is only good feedback and bad feedback. And while many people have different opinions, Intercept will only really listen to the ones that fit into the vision, scope and direction of the game. As for suggestion, things like "Make warfare stock" or "Make a spin off game about X" will get ignored, while "Can we have a rogue planet?" or "Can we get a trinary star system?" will get considered, at least slightly. And the feedback they're mostly looking for is, "Does this thing work?" So, like the volumetric clouds system. It might work on Kerbin just fine, but people might find bugs with it on Laythe. So, the devs will have to go back and fix it and try again. You're buying into EA. That's literally an expectation that mods can and will break. There's no avoiding it. Even outside of EA, mods will continue to break with updates. Incompatible mods are something that can't be avoided and shouldn't be worried about as the modders here are quite passionate about their mods and will fix them. As for obsolete mods, that's not a bad thing, that's actually a good thing! If a feature becomes stock, and it's done really well to the point that the mod is not needed, then that is a good thing IMO. Modders fill 'holes' in the game. If the hole is filled by the devs, then that's good. Yes, it sucks that the modder's mod is not useless, or at least not needed, but that doesn't mean the modder will stop necessarily. The stock version of the mod might have done something differently that people didn't like and so they'll stick with the mod. KSP 1 for instance. The stock robotics are kind of a joke. That's why people stick with IR. The stock alarm system is kind of washed down version of Kerbal Alarm Clock, that's why people stuck with KAC. I think most KSP players have their expectations tempered. And will continue to temper them even at launch of Early Access. Community feedback will not hinder development. It will help it move along. Like I said before, Intercept is mostly looking for feedback on bugs and if the system is good. Do the clouds work? Do they fit with the game? Are there any bugs? Is performance, okay? Quick simple questions like that. After those questions are answered, they'll move on to the next system, then the next. Modders will be able to mod. They might run into difficulty with game breaking updates, but again, that's the nature of modding and EA.
  5. The screenshots have been confirmed to be months old. We don't have any update to date screenshots that we are aware of, so we'll have to just wait and see how KSP 2 is at EA. I don't know about you, but I think each screenshot looks better than the last.
  6. No worm holes. Intercept Games explicitly said, no worm holes.
  7. https://nextbigfuture.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/2018/09/orions2.jpg I was talking about this big boy. Around 55m.
  8. Nate has mentioned aquatic features of planets a lot. There's a slight possibility of boat parts being in game.
  9. Fusion engines and fission engines will come with interstellar, not just Daedalus ICFP in different sizes.
  10. Honestly, KSP 1 + EVE and KSP 2 can't be compared. EVE goes for hyper realism, pushing the limit of what KSP can do. KSP 2 has an art style. Also, there is a slight difference. KSP 1 + EVE's clouds are 3D. Look at the clouds near the top of the shot. They have height to them. KSP 2's clouds just look 2D and flat in orbit. Again, look at the clouds near the top of the shot. No height. 2D overlay.
  11. Build a pc. If your chromebook has thunderbolt, you can get an external graphics card box. And with Chromebook being android, you'll have to use a Windows VM as the Linux version of KSP 2 (Android is a kernal of Linux IIRC) won't be out until after 1.0. Even then, Steam for Android is still in Beta I believe, so you'll still have to use a VM to get Steam working, I think. And console won't be out for a little bit after 1.0, possibly. 1.0 is about a year or two away, presumably. You'll be waiting a long time, and your chromebook probably won't handle KSP 2 that well without a graphics card. Integrated graphics have always been bad on Intel machines.
  12. Hmmm. That casual drop about the outer planets mod... it could be nothing, but why'd he mention it specifically? Makes you wonder. Again, could be nothing, or could have been a subtle hint.
  13. Chromebook? As in android? If your chromebook lacks a graphics card, it's going to hurt you a lot.
  14. Idk why they're waiting until interstellar to give us Orion Drives. Orion Drives are only good for interplanetary trajectories, not interstellar, from what I understand at least. Well, most Orion drives. The Orion Battleship might be suitable for interstellar travel due to it being literally the size of a small state, but they aren't showing the Orion Battleship. They're showing on of the smaller Orion Drives. It would make more sense to give us Orion drives at launch of EA or at least with Colonies with orbital construction.
  15. Yeah, when asked about it, KSP Twitter said we'll just have to wait and see. And tbh, we don't know what else is past that final 7th tab. It could be 20 more tabs past that one. We'll find out in a year or so when the Roadmap gets updated after 1.0.
  16. The RO/RSS community deals with the patches for BDB RO/RSS. If you're having trouble, you need to go to their threads. BDB is designed around a 2.5x scale system and won't ever have official support for RSS.
  17. Oh, I agree, that's why is very very rare. Like I said, I've only seen it once or twice, but can't remember the names of the game. Some companies are just greedy enough to do it because they want the short pay out instead of long term pay out.
  18. It's from Eyes Turned Skyward. As for the wide fairing, I needed an SLA, but the regular SLA and the wide body SLA are both too short for the payload of Two PMAs and Unity. Hence the super large ETS SLA. Only thing that fit the payload and had a node for Apollo. Wish there was a short version. @Zorg Any chance of one? Something like a half length one?
  19. I can't remember off the top of my head which games, but yeah, once or twice. The company released a "beta" version for Early Access and then when 1.0 dropped, they released an entirely differently named game separate from the early access version, forcing people to buy it a second time.
  20. You will not have to the pay for the game again when it officially releases if you buy early access. You'll get all the updates for free, but DLC will have to be paid for if they do any DLC.
