To keep people from posting unnecessarily in them. Not really any add-on stuff for KSP 2 until it launches and people can get their hands on the code base. Mission reports, can't really be done. Craft sharing, etc, all but challenges are relavant right now.
-
My thoughts exactly. Get everything setup before EA, that way it's ready and waiting. They could lock the KSP 2 forums to admin/mods only until EA day.

They are dead... mostly. The fact that games for the Series X runs on them are simply a matter of they run the same code. If Microsoft keeps using the same code and an Xbox (Whatever) comes out that's just another Xbox One with upgraded hardware comes out in 50 years, the Xbox One original will still run it, albeit it would be slow as heck do to the hardware limitations. But if the code remains the same between Xbox One v1.0 (Original and Xbox One v50.0, the games made for v50.0 will still run on v1.0, in theory at least, in practice, I'm kind of exaggerating. But you see my point. Keeping support for the Xbox One? That's a stretch. Like I said, the three machines run the exact same code almost. The only major difference between the three models is hardware and made some optimizations for newer tech. I only mentioned the hardware because it was prevalent to the conversation. There can't be a Series X/S only game because the One Original and the One X/S are the same as the Series X/S code wise. Even then, there can't really be an Xbox only game anymore because Xbox now just runs a version of Windows. Any game that runs on Windows can run on an Xbox, and vice versa. The code is the same throughout all four platforms, it's just the hardware that's different.

I didn't mean a real go-no go poll, just a comedic fake one for publicity purposes. As for bugs, I fully expect bugs to be present, though I'm not going to complain about them because it's Early Access. Bugs are inevitable. Graphics wise, I'm not that worried either. KSP 1 went through several graphics updates. I expect KSP 2 might go through 1 or 2 graphics changes, as art directions can change, but seeing as KSP 2 is being built by professionals who have a vision set in mind, I'm not that worried about it changing. If it changes, it changes. If they go for realistic textures, okay, fine. I'll just mod the game to make it cartoony again, or whatever. The only time I'll really start harping on Intercept, is when we're close to EA and long time bugs haven't been fixed.

That's just because the Xbox One, One X and the Series X use the same code. The only difference is that the Series X has a lot more power under the hood than the One or even the One X. Seriously, The Xbox Series X is just Xbox One 3.0. There's literally nothing different about it software wise, except perhaps 4K optimizations. That's it.

I was just wondering when they would be added. I think a day or two before EA is okay for some of the sections. I wasn't talking about adding them right now. And good God, I think we're going to need more mods.

The only Microsoft Console KSP 2 will go on is the Xbox Series X. The Original Xbox One is dead. The Xbox One X, is dead. Also, it's not up to Microsoft what game system a game goes on. It's up to the developers and/or publishers of the game. If they say no Xbox One of XB.O.X, then the game doesn't get put on those consoles. If Microsoft tries to strong arm them, the devs/pubs will walk away.

16 days. A mere 16 days from launch. That's just over two weeks! I suspect the forum is going to go through some big changes here soon. I mean, we're missing some major forum segments: KSP 2 bug reports KSP 2 Add-ons -KSP 2 Add-on Discussions -KSP 2 Add-on Development KSP 2 Challenges & Missions KSP 2 Spacecraft Exchange KSP 2 Fan works -KSP 2Mission Reports, Do any of the mods know when these will get added? (Please do not ping any mods for this question. I do not wish to bug them unnecessarily)

I think it was a combination of 2 things. Shaddy being out of date as well as Shabby. I had Shabby 0.2.0 which apparently does not like Textures Unlimited and will cause the pink textures I'm getting. I've updated Shabby to 0.3.0 which says it fixes the... for lack of a better word "Handshake" problem between Shabby and TU. Now I just have to wait an hour for KSP to load. I should probably really go through my list and update all my mods... problem is I have between 250 and 300 mods...

Let's see, I see: MOL A ETS Spacelab inspired EOSS ISS lab with Solar Truss What I assume is a MIR 2 Core Module inspired module? More ISS. Nice kitbash you got there, sir/madam. Also, how did you get white ISS modules? Or is that just the sunlight shining off the parts? Also also, I don't recognize some of those Truss segements, like the truss peice between the S/P 1's and the P/S 3's Edit: Just checked Habtech and saw Benjee has been busy.

@Vl3d Sorry, but what does that have to do with what I said? I don't understand.

So, I had a funny thought and figured I'd share it. I don't know why, but I imagined Intercept running through a go-no go poll before launch. Might just be my sleep deprived mind being silly, but still think it's funny. Oh, and of course Nate Simpson is leading the poll. If they ever did truly do this, they should do an EA launch live stream and treat it like a space launch, T- counter and everything.

They didn't use the excuse again, Aziz asked for it and I provided it. It's the same comment as yesterday. And they could post the same reasoning, because it's not an excuse, it's what really is going on. The VFX explosion artist does not need trees or grass to ulrea settings, only particles and explosion physics. Beetlejuice iirc.

@Rodger I think I found a bug. When using physics warp with the RL-10B-2, the animation gets held up at the point of engine ignition and won't actually ignite. It goes into a repeating loop, constantly playing the engine ignition sound. This is remedied by simply disabling physics warp. I have caught this bug outside of Physics warp a few times too.

Didn't say the Kerbol system is young, I said Duna could be a young-ish planet or recently had it's atmosphere stripped away. The latter would allow Duna to have it's polar ice caps be large.
-
Not necessarily. Duna could have giant ice caps if it was still young or recently had its atmosphere stripped away. I know Mars has tiny ice caps, and Duna is an analog for Mars, but I liked the giant ice caps. Made Duna stand out.

KSP 2 Multiplayer Discussion Thread
GoldForest replied to Johnster_Space_Program's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
That's not how it looks to me. I see no multiplayer likeness or similarities. Even if mechjeb wasn't mentioned, I'd assume it was mechjeb. Or it was a KOS script running the lander while the player drove the rover. If anything, this more shows what KSP 2 automation could look like, not multiplayer. Now, if it was truly multiplayer inspiring, the rover would crash into the lander as it was landing.- 1,629 replies

I think this is the first post we've seen the polar ice caps in. I wonder why they're so small compared to KSP 1 Duna's ice caps. Also, for anyone worried about the texturing:

Auto-saves in a game like KSP 1 or 2 can be more of a hindrance than an actual help, especially if that auto-save only keeps one auto-save at a time.
