  1. "I love the smell of monoprop in the morning!"
  2. ... After a night of drinking, you refer to getting through the spin cycle (or calling Ralph on the porcelain telephone) as "Passing through Max-BAC" You refer to potty-training a toddler as "Passing though Max-Poo"
  3. Completed the asteroid section of the Tourism Plus Space Casino. Now I just need to add accommodations for 95 guests. Then I deorbited the propulsion section of the core, on a death dive almost straight down. Turns out it wasn't a death dive, when I set it rolling. I guess I should have added parachutes so I could recover it. Nothing survived impact.
  4. Presumably by fractional distillation?
  5. And how do I embed tweets here? Elon has tweeted: "There was a tiny glitch in the motion of an upper stage engine actuator. Probably not a flight risk, but still worth investigating."
  6. I see some magical numbers on that titanium slug
  7. High school science (I think I learned it in Chemistry, it may have been Physics. It was a long time ago) PV=NrT (Pressure, Volume, Number of mols, constant, Temperature) Can be re-written as: (P1V1)/T1=(P2V2)/T2
  8. I seem to be one of the lucky ones, the only time I've had a crash was when KSP has been paused in the background for hours. Maybe I just haven't abused symmetry in the VAB enough
  9. I always had a soft spot (between my ears, i guess) for StarShip Troopers. My friend and I always referred to it as "StarCraft Troopers," since we played a lot of StarCraft at the time when it came out. Not to mention about the same amount of cannon fodder was involved.
  10. Yes, fins near the top are bad for stability, which is countered by the huge fins at the bottom.
  11. Maybe turn off some reaction wheels to reduce the forces SAS exerts on your station? I know I often need to reduce gimbal on my launchers so that prograde hold doesn't make things all wobbly. Could also use KAS to strut your station to make it more rigid.
  12. And I'm fine with that. The old cars have the classic looks, but I like the hot rods myself, seeing what people can make happen under the vintage steel. Drop a modern Corvette engine into a nice old Chevy and I'd be a happy guy.
  13. I've been noticing Mars for the last month or so as I left for work at 4am. Hard to mistake that bright orange star. Along with another bright star somewhat close by that I took to be Jupiter.
  14. Star Wars, as Mitth'raw'nuruodo, also known by his core name Thrawn, who worked his way up to Grand Admiral. At least I'd know not to trust those Noghri
  15. Oooh, nice car, @benzman I have to say the new Camaros are looking pretty mean. If I won a lottery that's one of the ones I would get
  16. And a "Thank You" @Rareden for creating the image!
  17. How do you sink a (stereotypically backward nationality) ship? How do you sink a (stereotypically backward nationality) submarine? How was the (stereotypically backward nationality) air force sabotaged? How was the(stereotypically backward nationality) army defeated?
  18. I read pretty much all of the Tintin books when I was a kid. And for a few years as a little kid in the mid-70's I lived in a tiny mining town called Tasu on a tiny island in southern Haida Gwaii, then known as the Queen Charlotte Islands. The town was razed when the mine closed down years and years ago, but I'd love to go back someday.
  19. The last Space Shuttle ET makes its way through the streets of LA to the California Science Center at Exposition Park, where it will join Endeavour on a vertical launch pad display. http://spaceflightnow.com/2016/05/21/photos-final-space-shuttle-fuel-tank-moves-through-los-angeles-to-museum/
  20. Haven't had a chance to try VR, but I imagine the dizziness will always be an issue. AFAIK, the biggest issue causing car/air (especially reading in a car) sickness is the disconnect between visual input and and balance sensory (inner ear) input. I could see this being a big problem in VR
