  1. 5/10 when I see your avatar around I first think its EdusacconBR
  2. The seismic thingie only performs surface experiments, so you'd better land on Gilly
  3. Great, thanks! IMO, Squad did shot it's foot off with this skill mechanics. Why on earth is everything hardcoded? I'm seriously hoping they migrate the whole system to .cfg's eventually. And unify probes' SAS with piloting skill, while we're at it.
  4. I know, I've used this mod for some time but I've just uninstalled it. It's good, but not enough. Thanks, anyway.
  5. I'd like if camera settings (both in terms of IVA/external camera, and Free/Chase/etc) to persist, perhaps with the ability to choose between globally per save or default + per ship settings. Anyone interested in putting my idea forward?
  6. 0/10 I thought so! - - - Updated - - - Ninja'd. So, 6/10 for noname, I recognize the signature from many posts.
  7. 0/10 I guess this subforum isn't where most people I know of hang around, and it probably goes the same the other way...
  8. This is my opinion, too. I install as little parts as I can, and even on stock there are categories like "Utility" that, even on the bottom of the techtree, hurt my eyes to look at and browse through. Oh, please!
  9. "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to adsii1970 again." I like the (irrelevant) rep, too, and give away as much as I can. Helpful mods, little tips, and mostly things that make me laugh (most of my time in the forums I'm in a stupor at work).
  10. - A surface attachable valve would be so cool, but I'm always reluctant to add parts. For my wayof playing, a menu on the fuel tanks would be ideal - Sure! Toggling resource lock on uncontrollable vessels is overpowered enough (although I use it shamelessly, justifying as an onboard dedicated controller) - Fast, but not instantaneous. If you build a juggernaut, it should take long. That said, exponential decay is nice but not necessary; a universal constant-rate is simple and does the job just fine.
  11. Hey, Papa_Joe, is this mod not supposed to show on IVA, or have I botched my install? IVA-only is where I think this mod would shine the most!
  12. From what I remember, fuel was never an issue; Hermes was built to be multi-mission, and this was mission 3 of 5 planned. The thing was time: the maneuver got Hermes back at Mars before Watney died; if they had missed it, it would be too long to get there by the usual route.
  13. Banned for nothing special, really.
  14. Eh, would have done something, but only read about this today...
  15. I feel clean. I put effort into getting that thing there, I don't timewarp just to get the science (I could, but then I'd be spoiling my own fun on purpose and then complaining about it, I guess?), and 500 data is a lot less than what I get in a mission, so there's still science there that I could have returned but is waiting to be processed. - - - Updated - - - Oh, this sounds interesting. For example, you could choose among experiments, using data as a spendable resource (as in, reacting, burning, or otherwise using samples in a lossy process), and they'd have different data costs, time costs, prerequisites (e.g. scientist levels and experiments performed), science returns and maybe some risk or uncertainty factor.
  16. If you're restricting where you can place docking ports based on where there are visual hatches, should you add nodes in those places, or do you suppose checking for a docking port close to where one should be is enough?
  17. Back in the day, orbital contracts for FinePrint had, um, fine print so that you couldn't control the sat once mission was complete (already the case with the tourists themselves), and if you deleted the vessel the mission would fail. So, you had to keep the satellite there, and it was useless. It was a lot more logical than what's in place currently, but I don't think it was much more fun...
  18. 4/10 Seen you in USI/LS discussions recently
  19. I, too, hang around the early part of the game for a lot longer than I need, and I restart my saves everytime a new version breaks some mod I was using and my ships explode. Which is why I play with as little mod parts as I can.
  20. I read an article on that yesterday, and found it very interesting. No sensationalism, no "missing link" terminology. They can be very certain it's a new species because "at least 15 individuals were found, almost every single bone in the body found multiple times". That's data right there!
