Yup, that one! Even my "stock" designs have them, if I run a save with that one uninstalled every single ship will disappear.

There's one called "Surface Lights", available on CKAN, with just 3 parts (a tiny directional, a tiny spot, and a 4-way directional) that are great for ship illumination, as opposed to scenery illumination.

That's actually just a (very funny, IMO) description of a successful experiment done

Quantum Mechanics. This will completely blow your mind away
monstah replied to Thunder_86's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Haven't watched the video yet due to work firewall, but that's the very first thing that crosses my mind when I hear anything "Quantum" that's not a linear algebra article. I will give it a go when I get home, anyway. Thanks for sharing! -
Has the nature of the bright regions been elucidated yet?

Leveling Up Kerbals -- The Training Program
monstah replied to Geschosskopf's topic in KSP1 Tutorials
Guys, the wiki says that, as of 1.0.2, scientists no longer boost recovery Science. The admin building lists Science boost as a skill when I mouseover my scientists, tho. Is the wiki wrong, or is that mouseover from some written description that is outdated? -
Merging and sub-assemblies need to work better
monstah replied to cephalo's topic in KSP1 Discussion
If you add winglets to boosters, for example, this lets you add them symmetrically in relation to the booster instead of the ship, so if you add it to the side, instead of something looking like a Swastika, you end up with something looking like a Portuguese cross. -

Thoughts on stock communication system in ksp 1.1
monstah replied to ouion's topic in KSP1 Discussion
You guys remember the ionosphere, right? Radio signals bouce off it from within, that's why we had radios long before satellites. In-Kerbin communication should never be a problem. I'm happy with the solution Squad is using. -
Lack of reference, presumably? I, too, have absolutely no idea who that is...

Manley Face? As in, that head pack that scared the crap out of me? - - - Updated - - - Seriously. I let off this short loud "GAH" which made my wife come and see, and have pretty much the same reaction.

Like a friend at work says: "I'm sorry for the shame I've been put through" Doesn't translate well to English, unfortunately. It's hilarious when he says it.

[1.1.3] RealHeat (Minimalist) v4.3 July 3
monstah replied to NathanKell's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Got it, thanks! -
I was thinking about it too, and to me the hardest was imagining a suitable UI. I have to say I like your idea of a receiving antenna! Ideally for me, any new modded utility should use stock foundation as much as possible. I'd like this to be doable from the Science results window, just by clicking "Transmit data" like you would normally to KSC, but having an antenna set as receiving would make a copy of the data in that vessel? Come to think of it, the "receiving" flag should be set on command pods, not antennas, since they are the ones who store data. So, if you set a pod as a receiver, anytime you transmit data and there is a link between the sender and receiver (regardless of KSC being connected to either), the receiving part has the data. Of course, if KSC receives it too, it will lose it's data value, but the science data is still there. How does that sound?
-
You know, they aren't supposed to show on the selection menu. Only directional antennas show there, since that menu is for targeting them. Can you control the probes? Maybe you just have the lines turned off on the map view, so the connections aren't showing but are still active?

Oh, so much that. Official/Nonscam, please

I am interested to see how well the Steam controller will work in KSP
monstah replied to Beatz0121's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Dude, I just saw the video for the Steam Controller and drooled. Looks awesome in my opinion. Wanna try it out too. I'd use it on whatever game, but who am I kidding? There is only KSP. No pre-orders available in my country when I saw it. Hope they are by now, or will be eventually. -
[1.1.3] RealHeat (Minimalist) v4.3 July 3

Does this fix stock Spontaneous Overheating Syndrome? Could it? That would be a blessing. -
Just a question, can you drop the toolbar requirement on CKAN? It's the only mod I installed that requires it, and it doesn't really require it since I've played it on RPM for quite some time with no problem. You could add it as a recommendation instead, it will show up with a defaulted check mark but you can choose not to install it.
