  1. Lol, priceless. Seems like slow but good news. I wasn't expecting MP to be seriously being worked on at this point.
  2. I have one. She absolutely hates KSP. edit - May I add before too late that I love my wife and am not complaining about her at all? Just sad we can't share this obsession. The post-it notes from AbacusWizard's post were frigging hilarious, I wish mine would have done that...
  3. I second that motion. They could be on the same page MJ is supposed to be, if it's not installed.
  4. Awesome, these little mods are what make KSP a fantastic game rather than just a cool game. Oh, happy 666th, tg626 - - - Updated - - - Damn, you should have had your 666th post below this one, but I left the tab open too long and you ninja'd me. Oh well, good bye joke.
  5. Yeah, I can't deny Ancient Aliens is entertaining as heck, the more atrocious their sciencey claims the more popcorn I get. My favourite gem from Tsoukalos himself: "Ancient chinese wrote of huge noisy creatures that flew and breathed fire, and called them 'Dragons'. Well, we know for sure dragons didn't exist, so they were obviously talking about alien rockets!" Yeah. Obviously. Seriously, tho, I agree with OP. It's not the fact people are stating dumb things to the masses, but the fact they are doing it on purpose. Anyone ever watched Zeitgeist? At one point, they claim the date for Christmas is around winter solstice, because on winter solstice the sun (metaphor for God's son, of Jesus) sets under the Souther Cross. As in, south instead of west. C'mon man, there's just no way someone wrote that believing in it, rather than to purposefully mislead. That's... disgusting.
  6. Staging order. Nothing feels more kerbal than decoupling the wrong boosters and have them turn your mothership into fireworks.
  7. Driving up a ramp to get out of a garage and thinking "damn empty boosters dragging me down - STAGE, GOD DAMN YOU!"... - - - Updated - - - ...dT wha? Anyway, he asked for the dV to quit playing the game, not leaving the planet
  8. Not conducted on purpose; I had a lander that happened to be there low on fuel, and after many quicksaves and loads trying to orbit and then eject, I tried going straight up and it worked. I was not doing following an experiment protocol, mind you! I was just trying to get back home and failing to achieve it, until I tried something desperate and it worked. Let's just call it anecdotal evidence, not hard at all. The point to be taken here is that (as many have said already), in KSP the system and the bodies are tiny, so you can do all sorts of things that would be impractical IRL.
  9. I didn't mean to spark such a fire! Anyway, to put it briefly, yes, straight up there are gravity losses. But those are minimal on Mun, so if you're on the side that's retrograde with respect to Kerbin orbit, the amount you lose to gravity is less than would be needed to orbit before ejecting. I didn't do any math, mind you, just experimented a bit. May vary with TWR, for instance.
  10. Something I learned after doing too much of the stupid thing everyone does: After you attach batteries, toggle off EC flow on the command pods, and leave those as backup electricity. You can re-enable it even if the juice runs out - hell, even with no connection using RT. If you're using RCS instead of reaction wheels, and your antennas aren't draining too much, even 10EC is enough to open/reorient forgotten solar panels.
  11. You don't need kOS; open up RT's flight computer, set a delay to a couple of minutes. Click to activate the 2nd antenna, then disable the delay. The activate action is on a countdown now! - - - Updated - - - I have "toggle antenna" on my action groups so I can do that with only one antenna: put delay, hit toggle. disable delay, hit toggle again. You're out of communication for some time, so you have to set everything beforehand and hope you forgot nothing
  12. The fuel you need to eject from the Mun to LKO/aerobreak is so small compared to landing/taking off from Mun, that the hassle to dock with it is not worth it. Hell, if you land on the Mun's east(?) side, you can just launch straight up and never bother orbiting the Mun at all!
  13. Haven't any of you guys learned to read sarcasm into sal_vager's posts? Specially jarring from you, 5thHorsemen Or maybe it's me not reading your sarcasm. - - - Updated - - - Oh, wait. Now I saw it. Priceless.
  14. One of us! One of us! Just joining the chorus. I stopped playing it through the Steam shortcut because I was ashamed it was logging to many hours. Then I started feeling ashamed I wasn't logging enough hours. I now have 530 hours logged, probably the same unlogged. Welcome! - - - Updated - - - Oh, do you expect to get married any time soon? That managed to drop my weekly hours... slightly.
  15. Granted there might be sarcasm I'm not reading there, this gem summarizes my feelings towards this topic. Also, "Blergh".
  16. Not until you're really close, just until you're the closest integer multiple of 6 hours away. So, if you're 20-something hours to periapsis, warp until you're at 24 or 18. If you're 15-ish, warp until 12, et cetera.
  17. Do kerbals still spark then they, um, frolick around their ships? It's been a while since I used this mod, I thought it was very good but the kerbal sparks threw me off
  18. But you have to setup an actual action for it to enable (or at least toggle), since when it is already enabled the only available action on the menu is to Disable, so you can't put the Enable action on a timer without first disabling it to enable the Enable action on the menu, and oh my...
  19. It's sad this thread was buried down there, it's a request I endorse a lot. Personally, I'm using FAR, so for all I care fairings can be strictly structural, with only decouple functionality. Bump attempt?
  20. Honestly, all I think MJ lacks is a semi-transparent configurable HUD like KER. I love KER and I'm in no rush to get rid of it, but my laptop limits the ammount of mods I can use. I use both MJ and KER, and if MJ had the pretty unobtrusive HUDs I'd sure get rid of the other (with cheers and many thanks to the author ). Now, let's please not go near the childish "cheating" subject ever, ever, ever again, in any topic, regarding any mod? Ever?
  21. My thoughts exactly. I call the star "the sun", the Mun "the moon", Minus "the little moon", and Kerbals "these guys". Come correct me whoever wishes to, it's honestly not that important.
  22. One could use Telemachus instead?
  23. Oh crap, they're related to Nibblonians!
  24. I once advised someone to mess with the PID settings, to which Sarbian himself immediately replie "don't mess with that unless you really know what you are doing." So, don't mess with that
  25. You can also set the distance model to "Additive" instead of the "Default", which takes in consideration both antennas when calculating range. Long story short: a small antenna can talk to a large antenna from a longer distance that it would otherwise. I love RT, too. I make my Kerbin network with 6 satellites, which is overkill but I like the hexagon on the orbit map
