Crossposting from the Windowshine thread, finally figured it out. Keep an eye out for a BDB Compatibility pack at some point over at that thread. :)

I also found some ancient Skylab orthographic drawings earlier today. Had an Apollo Block 3 prototype sketched as well. Here it is.

Made a "Patch" for my upcoming sub-orbital flight with Hermes.

That's awesome! I love that kind of stuff. I should have @DiscoSlelge post his too, maybe link a gallery of BDB mission patched in the OP? :) I am sort of keeping a list of things I'd like to put there when I get around to reformatting it... I'm waiting for a certain project to be completed before I update it.

[Flight Manager for Reusable Stages]

(I cannot get this to link properly, scroll up to aikixd's post on October 25th for the most recent working version)
The problem with reusable parts and stages in KSP is that you can only control one at a time. I can't say I've ever used it (I don't really have much time to play these days) but my understanding is that it lets you take a snapshot at stage separation, finish flying the ascent for the payload, then go back to the snapshot and control the booster for landing, after which the two 'timelines' are re-merged. It hasn't been properly updated by the original author but a community member appears to be maintaining it.

@ChrisTateman be careful with that one. The current version is held together by duct tape and tends to crash the game for some people. If it works it makes the whole thing much easier though.

Yep I still have the obscure imgur link http://imgur.com/a/lSEXQ

It's been a while since I didn't make one...

@Spike88 Thanks for the heads up  The viklun in the manual is pretty old it's been a time since I didn't check it, I'll correct this for the next update :)

Damn, that's a shiny patch!

You crazy art folk and your... Artistic art :P

@Jso, you rang?

I actually just used the Mission Patch Templates, and taught myself how to use Inkscape. My first rendition of the patch was a lot nicer, however I didn't export it properly and lost all the work on it, so I through this one together real quick using one of the examples.

Nice gallery. I've also noticed a couple tanks have different names in the manual from where their fuel amount changed. I can go through and mark any changes I notice, if you like.

It appears to be private, as it gives me a 403 when I follow the link in the OP.

The private one is for the last version, @CobaltWolf hasn't updated the OP with the new link.

I'll post my others if and when I make them, then. As for this certain project, do we already know about it or is it a surprise/secret?

It's something I've hinted at before but I don't think y'all actually know about it. It's not something BDB-content related (ie not some new secret parts I'm working on) but more... artistic.

An Apollo chute mount and docking port inbetween the fairing 3part shroud and payload  makes a nice reusable S-IVB for S-1C, but reduces payload volume

Maybe you don't even need to put them on the stack? Maybe radially mount them on the inside surface of the SLA? And if you use the full length one on the Github, you could maybe even close it back up for reentry! :D

That's because @CobaltWolf forget to change to link to the correct version :P There it is if you want https://www.docdroid.net/NFMmg2Q/bdb-manuel-eagle-edition.pdf.html

@Spike88 If you can make a google doc or something like that, that would be nice, I already change some errors in like page numbers in descriptions, but if you find something else let me know it ! I don't have always the time to proof read it very well.

I do close it back up for entry, I got the beta ETS parts off of github. how should I put chutes on the first stage? Those petals make amazing air brakes

I threw one up, hopefully we can link it whenever that sort of stuff is mentioned. I'll fix the link.

Uhh idk. Maybe... drogues in the interstage, and then main chutes on either side of the red stripes, maybe 2x rows of 3. So one set of red stripes is lined with chutes, and the other side isn't. That way it would land on its side instead of on the engine. That's my idea btw, ETS doesn't reuse the Saturns until the Saturn II in the mid 2000s which is described somewhat vaguely.

I'd keep it closed, put airbrakes above the ullage motors, and put parachutes on the engine mount.

I currently(S-IVB) enter nose first then at about 1200 m/s open the petals of the fairing, flipping the stage around and deploying the chutes when safe.

I always assumed it had more engines than the Saturn 1C. @e of pi, what was the saturn II going to be like?

I mean, they have a fairly detailed description of the engine layout. No need to ask...

Airbrakes are OP and thus lame. :P

How do you come up with naming schemes? I waste wayyyyyy too much time naming my stuff.

Uhm. I don't even know how to explain. It's usually <Rocket series>-<If a certain version of that rocket, take the letters for that designation and rearrange them, or just use roman numerals>-<Total fuel amount for fuel tanks, thrust if it's an engine which often falls behind balance adjustments, or think of some weird descriptive name like 'modular control block' and put the initials of that in>... Engine names, usually I go to wikipedia pages related to the engine or the rocket and use the first interesting word I find haha.
