Do whatever you need to. It's for a manned launch, if ready in time, so try and make sure it's safe... :P

Speaking of safe, does the capsule have a Launch Escape System, @legoclone09?

Yeah, WellItExplodedAgain was EECOM first. We can have two, for the different teams, I guess.

Make one do electrical and other environmental.

Alright guys, /r/theydidthemath!

The Herox II can certainly lift a payload into a 180x180 inclined in orbit. But here's the question...
How much can it lift?

With some pretty rough testing courtesy of KER's TWR readouts and a dummy payload, I got a payload of 26.2t.

(snip)

Here lies what used to be math that I just couldn't believe. Using a formula I got something like 720t before the TWR gets to 1. This did not at all seem right, so I'm going to stick by about 26.2t to 180x180 @ 20o.

Basically this is the way to determine your delta v of your rocket.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocket_equation

Since you start at a certain altitude at a certain longitude you want to calculate your speed with respect to a non-rotating reference frame.

With that speed you can determine an orbital "height"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orbital_speed

From there you do a Hohmann transfer to another orbit

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hohmann_transfer

Since you fly through the atmosphere you need to compensate for atmospheric drag. Wikipedia states 1.5-2 km/s:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta-v_budget

So you get your delta v budget of the rocket, and hence can determine the maximum payload for it to reach that specific orbit.

As for the 720 tons, I do agree with you - your rocket doesn't look as if it was capable of lifting an entire space station to orbit in just one launch...

Capsule engineer - GO.

Capsule is here, and uses Ven Stock Revamp, Lack's SXT, Realism Overhaul, Realchute, and ProceduralParts. As well as two Tantares parts, the Fobos-grunt RCS struts.

PAO - Go.

@ZooNamedGames What launch vehicle is being used currently? Should I get one developed ASAP or is one already read?

I think we have one, but I'm not sure.

EDIT:

I'm just warning everyone, I'm going to have a relatively low frame rate for this launch.  Sorry.  It should be all good after that, though.

I can't be the man in the can because I couldn't get my port forwarding setup.

Idk who has the booster atm.

OK.  Dman979 is working on the booster.  I've made @MysteriousSteve a Kerbal now.

Alright. You guys do have a booster.

Tell me if you need something. :)

IF you can get it done ASAP, we might be able to use a 3 tonne LV. This would be easier, because it means I wouldn't have to calculate a new fuel load. If not, than we'll use the 5/10 one.
