TwitchTVAlba
I have a question about the landing cradles. I was building crane to move modules about on the surface, when testing it at the KSC i load in with the crane and module(with cradle on bottom) attached to the crane. I lower it and raise it no problem to start but when i disconnect the module from the crane then reconnect, it will not allow me to lift the module anymore and eventually destroys my lifting mechanism. It seems as if the ground tethering is active even though it says disabled and will not allow me to disable it. The module stays glued to the ground. If i swap the cradle out with landing struts i do not have the same issue. Anyone know a fix for this other than removing USI_InertialDampener from the parts file? Grimmas
Can't say that they work 'properly' but the USI rover wheels do technically work, even the Akita wheels. But the Akita ones only work in one specific rotation, so experiment with it. The suspension part should be vertical in VAB, with the larger setoff closer to the ground. A bigger problem is that the Akita wheels tend to result in catapulting the rover into space after each timewarp.

Yeah I can't flip them at all so none of the rovers move, so I have to stick to using default wheels. Sucks, but it works and it's reliable. Usually CKAN is meticulous with its dependency... ing? Is that a word? I'll download Firespitter and CommunityCategorieKit and we'll see what happens. If that fails, I'll post the log via Dropbox What a strange dependency... Firespitter is for propellor planes, right? Anyways, it's working now that it is installed. Thanks for your help! Ace866
Just a minor note here, I installed konstruction via ckan and thought the orbital shipyard constructor thing looked neat, so I built one and tried to use it. I need alloys, polymers I think, and a few other things to actually build anything with them, but I had no way to make, store, or deliver those resources, just materialkits and specializedparts. The rest of the USI suite I'm sure includes all the tools I need, but unless I'm missing something, installing just konstruction and it's listed dependencies does not seem to include all the resources I need to properly use the Konstruction shipyard parts. This seems like an oversight.
RunaDacino
I have mods that add 3.75, 5 and 7 meter large docking ports. How difficult is it to make patches myself to create a construction variant of these ports to make assembly easier for enormous vessels. Iuno
On 2/16/2024 at 9:48 AM, dlrk said: EVAConstructionTweaks.cfg is causing the BreakingGround parts to be the wrong packed volume - is there a patch that fixes this or did I have an installation mistake? So this is several months late but your comment helped me track down this exact issue, so thanks. I just fixed it by completely commenting out everything in the file and downloading KSP_partvolume to configure all of the part volumes separately. Although I don't think that's exactly necessary either. KSP_partvolume is ALSO a little busted for some reason and will set all of the volumes for the BreakingGround parts to a volume of -1L, so you need to comment out or delete AddToAllParts.cfg to stop it from doing that. But after I did that it seems like everything is working properly.
Streetwind
Since I'm building a new modded instance with MKS right now, I took a look at the issue with EVAConstructionTweaks.cfg. The fix is actually fairly simple. Open the file, and replace the second line: @PART[*]:HAS[!MODULE[ModuleCargoPart],#mass]:Final with: @PART[*]:HAS[!MODULE[ModuleCargoPart],!MODULE[ModuleGroundExpControl],!MODULE[ModuleGroundExperiment],!MODULE[ModuleGroundSciencePart],!MODULE[ModuleGroundCommsPart],!MODULE[ModuleGroundPart],#mass]:Final All this does is add five additional checks that prevent the patch from firing on any parts that have one of Squad's various stock modules which already define packed volume on their own. With this, all of the Breaking Ground surface experiment parts, as well as the ground anchor and worklights, do not get patched and use their preconfigured volumes. It will also cover any modded parts that use these modules. I didn't see any other parts that were affected, but there are a lot of parts in this modded instance, so I've lost any semblance of overview Tagging @dlrk and @Iuno because it seemed relevant to you. tokamak_tinkerer
I may have found a bug. This bit of code @PART[*]:HAS[!MODULE[ModuleCargoPart],#mass]:Final { MODULE { name = ModuleCargoPart packedVolume = #$../mass$ @packedVolume *= 3600 } } is affecting the DLC deployable science experiments, and the ground anchor, making their volume several times lardger than it is by default, making them unable to be picked up by kerbals and deployed, rendering the parts unusable. My guess is that the deployable parts do not make use of the ModuleCargoPart class to define their volume, instead "bundling" it with the deployable science module (or however it's called), so adding this module to the config would fix the problem
Carraux
I am unable to get this thing running with the latest KSP version (Win 11, installed via CKAN). I manually added FireSpitter and CommunityCategoryKit but this didn't help. As far as I can see in the log, everything is loading fine, but it won't appear in the game. Any ideas?
