Also there comes a point where you come across people that are doing incredibly cool things, and you realize they're over a decade younger than you.

As was already said - being more than 2x your age, nearly 3x - and you say you feel old? Heck, I don't feel old at all.

When I first wake up and get out of bed. Sounds like a bowl of rice crispies!

I have no problem telling folks I am 46; what makes me feel old is when I have students on my course roster who were born in an age where there is no Berlin Wall, they don't remember 9-11, and think Apollo 18 was based off a real moon mission. What also makes one feel old is when they refer to Star Wars and they don't mean what we older folk remember (now labeled IV, V, and V), but I, II, and III. Many of them have never known a sky without the ISS nor do they remember anything other than the STS. 

Yeah, it's all good...

Pull up your birthday on Wikipedia.  Look at the list of people born after you.  That's enough to make you feel old.

Realizing it's not just singers, athletes, and actors anymore.

I'm either a fifth of the way through my life (if I live a long normal life), halfway though (if I die going to Mars), or barely starting (if we do end up uploading our minds to computers and becoming immortal). That makes me feel old because I'm not counting on the third option.

Also, we definitely are in The Future.

What makes you feeling old is that you are still in 2016, while should be back to 1985.

The first things I remember watching by TV are Salyut-4 and Soyuz-Apollo.

Most TV shows for kids are now 3D animated, back in my day, that was rare back in my day.

I remember when TV's were all boxes, not square plates.

All the toddlers these days all have Ipads.

 

Im not that old lol.

Back in my day, a movie was barred from entry into the Special Effects category of the Oscars because they "cheated" by using computers for all the effects.

Second: What makes me feel old is that you were only just born when The Matrix came out. And now you "feel old".

Third: In approx. 1 month I will be 1/3 of a century old.

When a coworker barely in his twenties had no idea who the Fonz was. Suddenly I felt like I should have a cane, a hearing aid, and a phone with buttons two inches square.  And yet, men had already walked on the moon before I was born  

I remember when the "jump the shark" episode first aired.

I saw that episode. I'll admit I was young enough at the time to be excited and scared about it.

I remember when I was a kid and watched vhs tapes of the lion king and stuff, was probably around 2002 (I was born in 1997)

When I see 9 years old with expensive phone im all like "in my days we played in mud and enjoyed it!"

Hell, I sometime manage to get bored of computer and go back to lego

This thread is hilarious. :D

I'm 48 years old. I have an ACL repair, an artificial heart valve, and pulmonary fibrosis. Oh, and I'm supposed to wear a hearing aid, but I don't.

But I run 15 miles a week, I'm stronger than I've ever been in my entire life, I hike and camp and fish and hunt, I build Legos with my kids. I'm guessing I feel younger than some of the 18-year-olds in here. :D

Age is just a number. It's all in your head.
