[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]

I've set up your planet pack as a separate solar system (GPP Secondary) using this simple .cfg file:

Spoiler

@Kopernicus:NEEDS[GPP_Secondary]
{
    @Body[Ciro]
    {
        @Orbit
        {
            @referenceBody = Sun
            @inclination = 353
            @eccentricity = 0
            @semiMajorAxis = 0.88e14
            @longitudeOfAscendingNode = 270
            @argumentOfPeriapsis = 90
            @meanAnomalyAtEpoch = 6.58
            @epoch = 0
        }
    }
}

Is that all I have to do? It seems to be working fine.

To get the Scatterer oceans to work again, I had to add a planet list cfg file to the GPP_Secondary  folder, it includes all the stock planets. After that it seems fine.

Should be as simple as setting the reference body and the SMA, so it looks like you have done that correctly  :)

The Scatterer ocean thing is minor, but is there a way you can fix it in the next update? or did I miss something when I installed it?

yeah, with GPP secondary, due to how many different possible packs GPP can be put around, we couldn't possibly included visual cfgs for them all, so it's up to the user to make it work if they want it. HOWEVER, we would gladly take pull requests and distribute the patches as we get them in our updates.

You shouldn't need to do anything at all for GPP_Secondary. Your Ciro patch is all that's required --if you're installing another planet pack and you detect that its orbit will come too close to that of another star.

@JadeOfMaar, I was on the install instructions post:

At the very end, scatterer was still referenced as .0300, not the newer version.

The Scansat link seems to be broken

The USI mods have been redesigned on Github.  I can't access Github from here to verify, but I think a few still point to the old locations.

Thanks

That's not your output_log, It's in [KSP Install]\KSP_x64_Data\ (assuming you're running 64-bit KSP which you should).

Post the whole log file into something like Google Docs or PasteBin and share a link. Do not post it directly into the forum.

Thanks @Gilph all fixed

@DeltaVerb Restart KSP as it is. It will make a new output_log file every time..... Then close KSP as hard or ungentlemanly as you can when it reaches that infinite loading point and try again with the log file. Share the file itself. There's no real need to open it and copy its contents. And again, do not try to post it directly into the forum. Save it online and share a link.

Guys... Take a look at this...

re9YE2k.png?1

I was innocently in the Tracking Station in my GPP Sandbox save, and look what I tracked! That asteroid is NOT where it should be... it would have encountered Niven or Tellumo and gotten knocked into a different orbit millions of years ago!

And then I realized something else.

This asteroid is on a near-perfect Hohmann Transfer trajectory from Tellumo to Niven.

What if it's not an asteroid at all?

What if it's a Niven probe?

Is Tellumo really as devoid of sentient life as we thought?

Some more pics, and a small oddity:

Orbiting Tellumo

Wondering how to get home...

And here's a strange thing: when I go back and review science reports, the biome information is missing!  It still has the flavor text, so I can puzzle it out usually, but the title is truncated.  Pretty consistent on science lab ships that have been in flight for a while.  Shows as "Crew Report from:" instead of "Crew Report from Iota's Midlands" etc. Makes it hard to get the easy "Science from surface" contracts using already collected science, as it's hard to find the right reports.
