Really Old Websites

This thread is for compiling really old sites from around the web.  (Note: does not include popular sites that were founded in the 90s, so Google doesn't count)

http://www.spelljammer.org/ 1995 dnd site.

http://freefall.purrsia.com/ Webcomic started in 1997, still ongoing.  3198 comic strips.

http://cerulean.st/absurdnotions/ Webcomic started in 1989, ended in 2007, now back after 11 years!  Possibly oldest webcomic.

milk.com Website established in 1994, owner refused to sell domain.

And http://musefanpage.com/blog/, a forum for a children's science magazine.  Now the forum is mostly abandoned, but some of the now grown up scientists post about their work their.

Considering the web as we know it was invented in 1989, and the first public use browser released in 1991 ... I don't see how this is possible. Perhaps the 'content' of the site is copyrighted back to that date?

The site states that the comics date from 1989 which were submitted to a college paper

Ooof. Throw http://www.sluggy.com into the mix. Webcomic started August 25, 1997, and has regularly updated ever since. Originally spoofed heavily on sci-fi tropes, now has a really detailed and intricate story that's been building for a looooong time just now coming to a possible conclusion. Site has been overhauled several times over the years, though.

Encyclopedia Astronautica (http://www.astronautix.com) also started in 1997, and stylistically hasn't changed much (if at all) in that entire time.

Hmm. I suspect that we could have a whole thread dedicated to old (but still running) webcomics.

Oh, gosh, webcomics.

I used to follow Goats, which started in 1997 and ended in 2010. Bit soured on it since Rosenberg flaked on his Kickstarter.

I still follow Dork Tower, which also started in 1997. I wish Kovalic was more consistent with updates.

Schlock Mercenary has been going since 2000, great strip.

Girl Genius has been going strong, with a great story, three gorgeous full pages a week, rain or shine, since 2002. Phil and Kaja are the serious work ethic role models in the web comic world.

One of the main websites for Transport Tycoon (and it's derivatives) players - https://www.tt-forums.net - which while on itself has only existed since 2002, holds archives of even older usenet group that dates back to 1999. There's also an older forum from 2001 that has been archived within. Also, at least the first few pages on the front of this thread predates youtube for posting videos.

Obviously I'm a younger populace on the whole scene.

Orbiter is best known here for Orbiter 2010's competition, but they also released games in 2016, 2006, and 2000.  You can play the original 2000 orbiter here: https://www.orbithangar.com/orbiter.php.

Also, if the number pattern continues, we'll have Orbiter 2020 soon!

Not as old, but one of my favourites is somethingpositive that started in 2001 and is still going strong.

My absolute favorite webcomic.  I've read the entire archive at least 4 times.

I have a quick sketch of Choo-Choo signed by Randy hanging on my wall, as well as a plush of Choo-Choo.  My brother got me both from Gencon many years ago.

Mine too... I've not re-read the archive. I started reading it in 2003 and went through from the begining, but re-reading is something I should definitely do. I wish that there was more of Super Stupor though.

toastytech.com is still going pretty strong. It's an OS review site/parody run by a guy with a serious hate-on for everything Microsoft after Windows 95. The site is formatted in good old HTML and displays properly in almost every browser I've ever run it in.

no down there always websites older than us as the internet is invented for more than 2 decades

Us? Who is "us"?
Speak for yourself, I remember gopher and the '90s .com boom. There are no websites (at least by the common understanding of the term) older than me, and that goes for many others on this forum as well.
The first (1991) can be found here, FWIW.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
