[No longer] FREE KSP

If you folks haven’t seen the KSP Sale thread:

Epic is offering KSP for free right now.    It’s a good way to get yourself, a friend, family member, etc a copy.   I can vouch for the site, as in I have probably 75 free (some AAA) games from there, without ever giving them a dime or personal info.

I have one question: Are the expansions going to be included or should I buy them? If so, from where? Because I don't think the game would be linked to Steam.

Epic is a direct competitor to steam, so no it won’t be linked to steam.   Usually these sales are determined by Epic, probably without input from the studio (That is steams model at least), so PD probably won’t have any info on future sales.    I would guess giving away a game for free that has some DLC’s is a way to increase the sales of the DLC, so I would assume we’ll never see the DLC’s on (drastic) sale.

In theory you could just buy dlcs through KSP store (if you can without owning the game there in the first place, I don't know) and paste the files into the game directory. I used to do that with GOG, before I bought the dlcs on steam.

Epic currently has Dishonored available for free, and this includes all the DLC for it.  So...?

Its free from the 6th to the 13th of January according to the Epic App.

Is the game going to be playable until the 13th, OR is it going to be downloadable until then?

I know what you mean. Steam have some game promotions where a person can play a game for a limited time.

In the case of Epic games they release free games on a regular basis which the player gets to keep forever.

Get KSP1 via Epic between the 6th and 13th and you get it for free forever via the Epic App.

Even if it was free, it's not worth downloading. Stock, it's a half-complete mess. Try to patch something playable together with mods, well, how do you think 70 mods written by loads of different novices will run? KSP has nearly bricked this thing twice now, and you know what, I'm not launching it again because this game always seems to bring pain whenever I try doing stuff with the elaborate missions I plan. I spent all of yesterday and today planning a large mothership, and now all it's good for is crashing the entire system thanks to KSP's terrible RAM management. It's good Squad is no longer updating it now; the threat of working on this monstrously pile of messy code and half-baked (sometimes outright missing) mechanics for another decade no longer looms over the staff. KSP won't even be good as a trial for KSP 2. Save yourself the pain of ever going near this game.

I am guessing you have a lot of hours in KSP? That's when a lot of bugs start getting obvious. A person playing KSP for a month or two will probably experience less bugs than us veterans because they are making simple crafts.

Last time I saw this kind of talk when it was about moba games or mmorpgs.

- you've put thousands of hours into this game, I take you like it?

-No, it's crap.

It's a shame there hasn't been any good alternatives for a decade.

Eastern American?

Eastern Canada would be more accurate. :)

Look at the current free games offered by EPIC on the store page and you will see the expire time in your local time (I assume)
