Birth was much worse. But Avatar was creative drivel and except for James Cameron's name attached to it and its technical features would be complete forgettable. No way I'd waste 3 more minutes on a sequel. ive seen birth of a nation when i was doing my silent film binge. possibly the most racist thing you will ever watch. totally worth watching though for the battle scenes (may be considered the first war epic). in a world where everything is considered racist, its good to go back and see how much has actually improved in the last 100 years. also check out the golem, haxxan, and definitely metropolis. 2 hours ago, BA-Forums said: The bee movie. James Cameron wanted us to believe it was his magnum opus, when in fact, if you strip out the special effects, it was one of the worst movies he's ever made. It certainly did not create any urge in me to cover my body with blue paint and go running around in the woods. Avatar looks good, liked it a lot but my profile is an catgirl It was lots of idiot balls there, mostly the main actor. No an mine will not destroy an planet but attacking people because you want some resource is evil. That movie has so many fridge moments has so many fridge moments you can write an book, if you can send an huge spaceship to Alfa Centauri in 8 years you are k1+ civilization you do not have an lack of energy for other stuff than pushing starships to an decent faction of c and make antimatter for them to brake. kerbiloid
Avatar 2, 3, etc. Always bad final, humans lose. For All Mankind I would watch with pleasure an ecranization of real retrospace projects, like Project Horizon (with Davy Crockett on rovers, and Claymore minefields), Project Lunex, Program A119, MOL/Big Gemini, Gemini Lunar Lander, MORL, Sea Dragon, Convair Nexus, Orion, extended Almaz, LKS, UR-700/LK-700/MK-700, etc. But it hurts to see another profanation. The sequel really jumped the whale on that one. An anti-aging serum extracted from the brain of an alien whale. Like, how did you even find that? I wonder if anybody else has similar movies they just wanna "Nope" out of. No need to explain why but by all means feel free to if you want. Here's my list: Oppenheimer - I heard it was a 3-hour recap of his Wikipedia page and that was all I needed to know. Avatar: The Last Airbender - I've heard it's fantastic. I've heard it's garbage. I just don't care enough to check it out. Schindler's List - I know it's considered great but I just can't. Trainspotting - If it was actually about spotting trains maybe. Good Will Hunting - I truthfully think I'd fall asleep in like 10 seconds. The Social Network - Maybe if I had ever used Facebook for anything other than seeing pictures of my extended family I'd care one little bit about this. I reserve the right to post more later. I recently stumbled upon a fascinating list of anime series that might interest you, especially if you're exploring new genres. From the adventurous world of "Hunter x Hunter" to the emotional depth of "Violet Evergarden," there's something for everyone.
Miniature Legends
I recently realized there are some hidden gems I’ve never seen but definitely should! For example, "The Man from Earth" is an incredible sci-fi film with a thought-provoking plot. Also, "City of God" offers a raw and powerful look at life in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. Lastly, "12 Angry Men" is a masterclass in dialogue and character development. Any other underrated movies you all would recommend?

Xena had Lucy Lawless so is inherently good, but yeah it was pretty campy. Hercules isn't worth the bandwidth to watch, even if the bandwidth is free. Though that does bring up TV shows, which I didn't even consider in my original post. So let's see... Lost - I decided in Season 1 (having not watched a single minute) that they had no idea where the show was going and were just making it up as they went. So glad I didn't bother, now that I know I was right. Star Trek Lower Decks - I watched 2 episodes, the pilot and the next episode after it. I only watched the 2nd one to make sure the pilot was bad but the show was good. It's way too "woo look at us we're in a cartoon!" for me. How I Met Your Mother - Pass. Big Bang Theory - Double Pass, because I won't watch Young Sheldon either.

It's a culturally quoted classics of late 1990s/early 2000s, shown by TV for years. Much more known here than, say, StarTrek, whose characters are unlikely recognizable by name. Also I have probably watched more parodies than original episodes. The same about Harry Potter. Was never going to watch it, but after twenty of amateur parodies I had finally done it, just to compare. (And one more youtube video makes it reasonable to do this again, just from interest. At least the first episode of HP has numerous masonic references almost in every scene: numbers, statuettes, phrases, things, images, and so on.) 2 hours ago, Superfluous J said: Hercules isn't worth the bandwidth to watch, even if the bandwidth is free. Hercules is a part of Callisto arc from Xena. This character is trolling them both. *** LOTR & Hobbit by Jackson. Never watched them in original or serious translation, only in joke translation, which is by order of magnitude better for me. Less pathos, more common sense and sense of humour. Plain rude guys, making their dirty work, rather than epic heroes. Also, LOTR with Rammstein is much better than the original OST. So glad I didn't bother, now that I know I was right. Lost is one of my favorite shows of all time. It might actually be my favorite show of all time, I honestly can't decide between it and Babylon 5. They're two very different shows. My oldest and I had a conversation about it the other day, based on me reading a very misguided article about Lost that popped up on Pocket. (My kids have all watched Lost, it was actually the second watch-through we did as a family, after the MCU.) This was the conclusion we reached. There are two kinds of people who watched Lost: People who watched the show because they wanted to understand The Island. They saw all the high weirdness in the first season: the polar bear, the smoke monster, the hatch, etc., and they assumed that this was what the show was primarily about. And they wanted the show to explain all of this to them. And when they got to the series finale and discovered that there were still mysteries that had been left unexplained, they got mad at the producers. Because, as far as they were concerned, the show wasn't done yet. They had been left hanging. For them it was a shaggy dog story. People who watched the show because they wanted to understand the characters. These people saw it as a story about a bunch of ordinary people placed into extraordinary circumstances. And the primary focus was about how these people adapted, changed, and overcame through those circumstances. These people were much more satisfied with the outcome of the show. The major character arcs were, for the most part, completed by the end of the series. If there were still mysteries about how the Island worked, or what caused certain events, that wasn't as much of a big deal to these people. Because that wasn't the focus of the show for them. We were all solidly in the second group. For us the show was all about the character development. And I'm really struggling to think of another television show that displayed the depth of character development that Lost did. (And now Thing #1 wants to rewatch Lost again. So he can rewatch it like his mom and I rewatched it while they were watching it the first time. Seeing all the little tidbits and Easter eggs in all the early episodes that alluded to the things that happened in the later episodes. Yes, they (mostly) did know where the show was going when they started. It just felt strained because ABC demanded that they take a show that had been originally written to run for four seasons and stretch it out to six.) So, for me anyway, Lost is on the Must Watch list. YMMV.
Nuke
harry potter movies are probably on my dont really care to watch list. we watched fantastic beasts (which i didnt know was a harry potter spinoff at the time). i fell asleep during the sequel. so i will probibly never get into it. i have a lot of respect for the author though. i remember seeing pamphlets in public restrooms saying that it was for satan worshipers, from some right wing christian group, then later on getting hate from the left over culture war bs. both miss the point that she almost single handedly got an entire generation of children to enjoy reading. i was simply from the previous generation and so never got into it.
