Puggonaut
Decided to relive my childhood...........again............. So had a go at launching Skylab into Orbit , remembered the grief they had all them years ago , anyhow after one really awful launch when the rocket decided to become a dart an embed itself in the ground , I got the hang of it an into orbit it went , then it was time to open the Skylab Snack Bar and send up some visitors Later Today I will attempt to dock with the Skylab . that should be really easy............................yer rite

kotomikun
Over the past few days, did some very tedious capture burns at Urlum and Kerbin, and then had to switch back and forth as 3 different vessels maneuvered around the two systems... HorusKol
I learnt that: setting SAS to retrograde during reentry eats your batteries parachutes can be staged without electrical power It was touch and go with Jeb and two tourists on their return from orbit
msasterisk
After focusing my efforts on Minmus for quite some time, I still couldn't get enough science to research the gravioli sensor and mining. So now a probe with a seismometer is on its way to Mün (about time!). Hopefully I can use it to finish a contract or two as well.
Puggonaut
So after 3 launch attempts , god alone knows how many docking attempts , Bob , Jeb , Bill an Diphe are all in the Skylab Cafe having a potato sandwish an a lite ( well they are weightless ) Beer an you know what i'm gonna have one to , coz this was hard work , but also fun an yer I had to abandon the 3rd stage as it made docking...................interesting

Chicken_Cabbage
Got my first probe to Duna! First time there ^^ Did a bunchload of of Dmagic science for the fun of it (Sandbox lol, no calculations neede haha...never was good at career anyway and maths suck XD ) and then I realized I have only the big RT dish and nothing for regional communications haha... Screw that I'll send kerbals up there and hope they can manage by themselves Flying the Kerbal way FTW
SSgt Baloo
I spent most of yesterday troubleshooting my game installation. I deleted the game and reinstalled it, then got CKAN working, and carefully went through the list of mods, selecting only ones that were compatible. AVC identified a couple that were not, so I deleted them. There's a whole lot of stuff showing up that wasn't showing up before. Loads of new things to play with! This morning, I fired up the game and played for four hours, trying to get it to crash, It finally did, but after four hours, I'm ready to come up for air anyway. Q: Does anyone remember the name of the mod that allows you to put monopropellant in the big orange tanks instead of LFO? I'm making a monoprop refueller drone to put in orbit around the Mun, so my Munar expedition can make sure their lander is fully fuelled before descending to the surface. Right now, I'm using four FL-R200 tanks, plus another smaller one to make up the difference. ETA: I just figured out that I have procedural tanks, and they actually work. Never mind. CanOmer
My first outpost of five Kerbals landed on Minmus. Actually it is like bus rather than outpost. Top part (lander can) can go and explore several locations.
Draconiator
Just put together this tiny thing, because I realized my Sprite craft in orbit of Kerbin has a Kerbal aboard, and I forgot to put RCS on it, oops the Kerbal Rescue System, or KRS. that Kerbal will join an expedition on Minmus, so no atmospheric worries. Mjarf
After recently finally being able to wrap my brain around the rendezvous concept I've started the construction of a proper space station. I started building a simple re-fueling station a couple days ago, but it was turning into a hodgepodge so I de-orbited that to start from scratch. Today I built a proper core for my multi-purpose station that I've named Valhalla in tradition with my Norse naming. It has 2 Clamp-o-tron Sr. to attach heavier modules and/or dock heavy crafts, and 3 regular Clamp-o-tron ports for smaller modules and crafts. The core has a total battery capacity of 9010 units and 8 Gigantor solar arrays as power supply. It also has a HECS and CH-J3 that controls two Advanced reaction wheels to keep it stable. My old station liked to twist and rotate during docking and that's the last thing one wants when docking. Here's Valentina posing for the cam after de-coupling the core from the hauler craft. I also added a touch of madness to the station core to make things more interesting. I mapped the abort button to de-couple all docking ports so that it's basically a self-destruct button. The next step is to add a habitation module, after that I will add fuel and science modules. Edited March 2, 2016 by Mjarf
Francois424
Today was an unsual day for me in KSP... Work work work ! With KSP 1.1 quickly approaching, I am "cleaning-up" my install, getting rid of every parts (especially non-stock) that I do not use. That leaves a few parts from multiple sources I am also fixing quite a few broken parts from mods no longer updated/supported for quite some time. Also making some others "stand-alone" so I wont need to try to redownload a mod should I want to use 1-2 parts in a future KSP game. Everything in one folder really speeds things up. Took me a while to understand how this CFG thing worked, what models coincided with what, that the .cfg is CASE SENSITIVE for file name (took me a good 2h of trial and error to find THAT one. *grrr* So today I have the beginning of a personal parts mod that works. Specifically : - Balka Solar Arrays (Both singular/double... few bugs in them took a while to fix, but working well now) (Cosmos, Defunct) - TKS Solar Array (Cosmos, Defunct) - FTmN280 Nuclear Rocket (KommitNucleonics, Defunct) - e50 electric propeller (KAX) - My own "Kaliaguine Nuclear Reactor" which uses the mechanics of the STOCK Power Cells, replacing LFO by "Uranium" with RL weight/cost. Used KSP Interstellar Molten Salt reactor's texture from Roverdude. Looks good ! - Ke-111 cockpit (SXT) - Kn-2 Cockpit (SXT) - Curved 4x4 solar panels (NearFutureSolar) - Modified "NK12M-Bear" engine (SXT) to use LFO and not require any intakes... Perfect heavy duty engine for atmospheric, non-oxygenated worlds. - "FAT-460 Swept Aeroplane Main Wing" (SXT). Just the middle ground needed between the huge liner wings from stock, and the other wings from stock. - "KR-ML Trio Concentrating Solar Array" (NearFutureSolar). One of my favorite solar panel all around. and with the curved panels, the only pieces I use from that mod. - I also found a mod that allows changing the compass speed to anything from mph to km/h, knots, ect. It's 0.23.5, very buggy but if you set the settings with notepad it works. I'll use that when roving around and on planes. (SpeedUnitChanger, Defunct). Because of license legal mumbo-jumbo that I don't care about, I will not never upload this repertoire of parts anywhere. So If I've used some of your hard work... first THANK YOU, then don't worry. (EDIT: I almost kept everything from NecroBones' "FuelTanksPlus" and "ModRocketSys", your parts became the backbone of many of my ships... good work man, I love your work). So here are pictures of most of the parts I got working : FTmN280 Nuclear Rocket, Balka Solar Array (Double on top, two singles down bottom), TKS Solar Array, FAT-460 large wings Close up shot of the cockpit area : Kaliaguine Nuclear Reactor (texture is Molten Salt Reactor @ KSP Interstellar), Kn-2 Cabin, Ke-111 Cockpit Edited March 3, 2016 by Francois424

noobsrtoast
On 17/05/2013 at 3:06 PM, Xeldrak said: So, what did you do in KSP today? I'm working on my project to touch down on every object in the system without mechjeb, so everything is done by hand. I launched a rocket (Project D-Man)to Duna yesterday and today I landed on Duna . After taking off, I realized that I could land on Ike too. This way I don't have to visit the Duna-system again. However - it seems I did a slight miscalculation and only reached Ike orbit....with a 30 km apoapsis. So, I converted a space-tug I had in storage into a interplanetary towing service and left for Duna. Yeah, it has mechjeb, because I did all the landing allready and its better than just leaving my faithfull kerbals in Ike orbit (my project - my rules ). So both ships met in Ike-orbit, where I accidently triggered the last stage seperator on D-Man just after docking. However after a few months of waiting for the right planetary alignment - the D-Man capsule is on its way home And yes, I did not have to attend any lectures today - so there was plenty of time for KSP So, what about you? i pulled off my first ever ssto to another planet, i made it to duna, i never made it back but the fact that i made it there in the first place makes me really happy, small compared to whats been done but an achievement for me
