So I set a prob to Eve with multiple parts of Scansat and it mapped an anomaly with a question mark after some time.  However, I'm on Eve now at the question mark and nothing is there save for some volcanic rocks.  What am I missing to actually find and see the anomaly?

Try the BTDT Been-There-Done-That scanner. You have to get close to the landmark, I forget the exact distance maybe it's 1km. An active BTDT will convert the question mark from gray into yellow, and then when you move the mouse over the question mark on the SCANsat map it will show the name of the anomaly at the bottom.

That gray-to-yellow change won't show up until you refresh the map or reopen it.

I'll also say, if it's a Randolith, they tend to show up in one place on ScanSAT when I'm looking at the map while not in the SOI of the planet, and a different one when I'm actually there and looking. It's always at the spot it shows when I'm focused on a craft in the SOI of the body.

I know that, officially, SCANsat only works on 1.10, but does it still work on 1.12?

Yes, virtually all mods for 1.8 or later will work in 1.12.  I'd suggest enabling those versions as compatible in CKAN.

what if i dont use CKAN?

Well, you can install it manually but make sure to use the latest versions of any dependencies.  But really, ckan will prevent the majority of installation and compatibility issues.

Anybody's having an issue with CKAN not being able to download this mod?
CKAN is spewing out, that, and I quote; "The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure"

I get that too :( Have tried force-installing it but no dice.

Does CKAN pull from Spacedock? Spacedock's SSL certificate was expired yesterday. It's corrected today, though, so you might try again.

Aw yep, indeed it works now, so it was server side, thanks for the heads-up.

Is there a way (like a cheat) to force complete a scan? For example to quickly try things in sandbox without having to build and HyperEdit a scanning satellite in orbit, or to force complete the low resolution altimetry scan for a body when the high resolution version is done so I stop getting contracts about it.

Also is there a way to disable the science gains from scans?

I scanned Kerbin, and had lots of fuel left soooo I went to Minmus and scanned it too.

I forgot to "analyze" the data around Kerbin (but did it around Minmus).

Does the science I got include the points for Kerbin analysis, or should I go back to Kerbin with my  satellite to get them (or even launch a new rocket, as I probably won't have enough delta-V for the trip back)?

hey guys, I've got a couple sats up with some scanners. Currently, the interface is locked on Kerbin in "celestial bodies". I can't access of resource overlay, or change the celestial body.  Am i missing something?

Does anyone have a solution for this? It's currently breaking my career.

I'm only an hour in my newest career playthrough... well finalizing the visual mods...

I've never played with this mod... I was 1000 hours into ksp when I learned about "compatible game version"  so I did the next thing you might imagine..

Bricked a SaveGame

In all honesty though, it was a terrible franken-build that should have died years ago.

I'm glad it did.. This mod is pretty friggin epic for immersion. Getting that extra mileage from mid game on.

I'm stoked to see this mod among the stars. I want to say a great big THANK YOU to all those who worked on this epic project.

Is this still in development? Could the needs daylight stat be fixed to work relative to the parent star instead of kerbol? If the other star isnt in the same plane as kerbol then half the planet never sees it. Or maybe add an instrument that scans without light so it can work around tidal locked planets too

Are you playing with a planet pack that adds another star to the Kerbol system?  I don't think there are any bodies in KSP1 that are tidally locked to Kerbol.   I remember (probably misremember) Moho requires about a moho-year to fully daylight scan because it rotates slow.  The moons of Jool can be tricky but usually time solves that as with Moho.  There are scans that don't require daylight.  Just not the ones that would logically need daylight.  Like a visual scan.

Im using galaxies unbound. It has some planets that are tidally locked, but since scansat doesnt support other start to begin with, it end up with the side that can see kerbol scanned instead
