Here's a little taste of what 1.5.5 will bring: a revamped Ovok, more inline with our initial concept:

The swirl surface makes it really look like an egg, can't wait to land there and investigate :)

So I try that config but I don't see GasGiants and Tekto config files in Clouds folder, any ideas?

Just copy the "cloudsOPM.cfg" in the folder you made the picture of.

I'm loving the new look for Ovok. This mod is going to be an incredible stockalike expansion when it's finished. Something anyone who's looking for more content that keeps with the feel of vanilla will install.

Any other news on 1.5.5 this early?

Great job :D

I flew past Urlum then did a 10.9 m/s manuever to flypast Neidon. It would have worked fantastically but when I timewarped out of Urlum-orbit I lost my close Neidon encounter, but I still got within a couple million km.

Two things I think you could improve on.

1. Better Plock. It's really silly you just re-used the Vall texture when you have done such fantastic work on the rest of the textures.

2. Atleast 1 moon for Urlum and Neidon, else they are just eye-candy and have no purpose.

The current plan is: As soon as we know what Pluto actually looks like, we'll make a texture for Plock. This will be when the New Horizons probe does its fly-by later this year.

Moons for Urlum and Neidon are still in development but Urlum's will be released next.

Thanks again! The only other thing I could add would be giving Urlum a really slow day and polar rings to replicate Uranus, but maybe you're going after something more Kerbal-ike :D

Oh, and in stock, do you know if MechJeb aerobraking calculator works correctly?

1.5.5 will update to the latest version of KopernicusTech and also convert to a modular approach, which will make it compatible with other planet packs and will also allow us to move back to the better DDS texture format. Aside from that and Ovok, the other big thing is biomes and science blurbs for Tekto. And of course a whole lot of little or less exciting stuff, tweaks and the like.

Polar rings would just look weird and would do a terrible job of replicating Uranus' axial tilt. It'd also be very unrealistic as rings only form along the equator. Until Squad can add in axial tilt, there's nothing else I can do.

I think this mod is so great and high quality that it should be added to the stock game in a future update !

Comments such are these are about the biggest compliment we can get. I'm glad you liked the mod.

Today I did a Tekto-orbiting mission, and I wanted to land, but of course, I forgot the parachutes. I did a motor-landing and landed in the waters, ending up with something amazing, some kind of Tekto boat ! Also I'm very impatient for the sciences blurbs of this moon.

Have anyone else managed to do some kind of tekto boat ?

I had suspected you were waiting for that. As long as Pluto turns out to be pink like some scientists have suggested, I'll be happy :P.

Do you plan to give Plock an atmosphere and an analog for Charon as a representation for Pluto's other moons?

Also, on that note, have you guys considered moving Minmus out there as Plock's companion and possibly Gilly to Duna as an easy-to-do way of making the stock system even more analagous to our own system?

I'll just chime in here and say that while a mod like that would certainly be cool, I think that the stock planets/moons should largely be left alone in this mod. Outer Planets should focus on adding new bodies, not moving old ones.

That said, I'm stoked about New Horizons and Pluto/Charon/Nix/Hydra/Kerberos/Styx. So many moons! I'd say to stick with just Charon in the mod, though.

I agree. If you change the current system, then that would invalidate current games. If it only added, then this could be added in at any time.

New Horizons won't be close enough until May or June.

Here's the best map of Pluto we have at this time:

I would say a huge canyon, a few mountain ranges, and a giant crater are probably the best approximations of this.

Side note: The features of Pluto's surface kind of spell out Pluto! Weird!

Beautiful! I love it!

I can't convince myself to get other planet packs nowadays. You guys have set the bar far too high for the competition to even remotely compare. This really is a stunning mod, and all the hard work you guys put into it really shines. I can't wait for Urlum and Neidon's moons! Well, I guess I can, so long as they're the same quality level as your other moons...
