Look, even on the configurations with an even number of boosters, the arrangement is deliberately asymmetrical. The only reason I can think of for this is that the designers just wanted to show off. Maybe the Delta IV team made a bet with the Atlas V guys or something. If they did, I hope the Atlas V team got something good out of it, they deserve it.

Well, none of the booster configurations for the Atlas V are symmetrical anyway, maybe the designers did it just to show off their mad skills in engineering or something.

I hate to be a party pooper, but the biggest reason the Russians fought so hard for Stalingrad was simply that it was named after Stalin. The city itself has little to no strategic value, and is in fact very, very far away from Moscow. Nice render though.

If there's a military surplus store nearby, go check it out. You can probably find some BDUs, web gear, and a steel helmet there. At a store I went to, they even sold hand grenades. Then go buy a plastic M-16 and spray-paint the whole thing black (it's probably a good idea to paint the tip orange to signify that it's only a toy). Black boots shouldn't be too hard to find either. It's not space related in the slightest, but you can make a very authentic army uniform for relatively cheap prices, especially if you can bargain for lower prices. This is possibly going to be my Halloween costume, as I already have most of the necessary items.

B-25 isn't too bad, it's got lots of guns on it, including some pretty useless front mounted guns. I guess it was intended to use them for attacking enemy ground vehicles, but since the B-25 is a medium bomber, you won't have much luck flying around that low. Whenever I flew it, I didn't do very well, but that's just because I cannot War Thunder worth a damn.

Uh... What is the button for taking screenshots in War Thunder? I made a pretty cool attack on a bomber today that I would have liked to show here, but I couldn't figure out how to take a screenshot. I think Steam sets it to F5, but that didn't work, and neither did F1, which I know is the button used by KSP.

Thanks to the power of BurnTogether, I'm able to share with you some pictures of the first air combat patrol performed by KSC Jadgstaffel 1. Three pilots were selected to fly the mission, including Jeb, the wing commander. The flight assembled on the grass plain near KSC. I wanted to use the runway, but the wheels on the triplanes lack steering, and I wasn't able to taxi three planes off and then back onto the runway and I didn't feel like combining them in the SPH so I had three in a single craft file so I did this instead. Takeoff photographed by a ground mechanic. New recruitment poster for the Kerbin Imperial Air Force, perhaps? Disappointingly, BurnTogether doesn't appear to be able to hold a tight formation, so I spent most of the flight juggling three aircraft trying to keep them somewhat near each other and headed in the same direction. I spent nearly all the fuel in the planes before I got them in this arrangement. I wanted to get all three flying in close formation, but I couldn't do it. Here's two close together with the third a little behind. Eh, it still looks okay from a distance... This secret camera mounted on the wing of the lead aircraft shows that Squardron Leader Jeb clearly enjoys his new command. Tragically, on the way back, the flight encountered an enemy Tracking Station. Bob was killed when he crashed into a comms dish, Bill here narrowly avoided the building but suffered damage and injury upon landing after he braked too hard due to shock. He was barely able to stand up for this photograph. Jeb, on the other hand, landed a little short of the station and flipped his plane while braking to avoid it. He was completely uninjured, and decided to prove it to the photographers by doing some sick balancing tricks.

Name: If you want a bit of irony, you can name it Scorpio, the mythological beast that killed Orion, and is also a constellation, but appears in the sky during summer instead of winter (maybe the other way around). According to the story I was told years ago, Orion and Scorpio appear at different times to avoid them getting into a fight and killing each other again. RCS: What if you put the RCS in the parachute, like Beale's Gemini? All you really need are till thrusters, maybe pitch and yaw, but it's not necessary. Translation is not necessary either, the Service Module can do that, and you don't need translation control during reentry anyway. Service Module: What type of solar panels are you planning on adding, the original round ones or the newer ATV style panels? Will the engine run on LFO/OX or monopropellant?

I have a Toshiba Satellite with an Intel i7 processor, 8 GB of RAM (expandable to 16 gigs) 750 GB Hardrive, backlit keyboard, disk drive (surprisingly, not many laptops still have them) for about $600. It can run KSP well even after I've modded it to hell and gone. I love my laptop, and my laptop loves me. The reason I got such a good machine for so cheap was that I didn't get any unnecessary features. Touch screen, solid state hardrive, detachable screen, etc. is all pretty useless to me, so I didn't get a computer with those things, and therefore didn't have to pay for them, which means I got a good laptop for a great price. Keep that in mind. Also, I've heard that the Intel i5 is better for gaming since it has a higher speed.

I know that space sims and sub sims are two very different types of games, but I've seen a few people on this forum who play the Silent Hunter games. I myself own SH5, and it's a pretty ok game, despite the fact that it seems to be largely unfinished. This thread is for us part time submariners to discuss Silent Hunter, post screenshots, develop tactics, etc. Maybe it will take off, maybe it won't get a lot of views, I won't really be surprised either way. Any other submarine games besides Silent Hunter are welcome too, since the genre isn't as big as it might be.

What about the Bf-110? I know in real life it was a notorious piece of junk when deployed as a daytime fighter, but worked pretty well as a night fighter. Is it any good in War Thunder?

Can someone who's familiar with German planes give me some advice? I'm wondering whether or not I should go down the Bf-109 line or Fw-190 line first. Heck, I could even go down the bombers, but I would like to do more fighter time. What are the pros and cons of each line? Are the German bombers even worth getting? I've heard scores of bad things about the He-111, both in War Thunder and in real life.

I saw the movie on Sunday, it was ok. I do have a few pet peeves. The spacesuit looks stupid. Is he an astronaut or a clone trooper? Why doesn't the suit look pressurized? Why is does it have orange highlights, wouldn't that make it harder to see if someone got lost on Mars while wearing the suit? Why does he wear the clone trooper suit throughout the whole movie when on Mars, but puts on the realistic looking suit to launch in the MAV? The landscape doesn't look like Mars. I heard they filmed it in Jordan, which is a pretty bad choice in my opinion. The giant plateaus and mountains, plus the orange filter they put on everything, makes it seem more like he's trapped in Mexico than on Mars. We can tell from pictures sent back by probes that Mars appears more flat and barren than the film depicts it as being. Why didn't they film it in the Sahara, it seems like they would have been able to find a more Mars-like location in Egypt or Algeria. Why does Hermes have such giant windows? I know it looks cool, but giant windows in space is a bad idea! The Mercury Seven had to fight just to get a tiny porthole installed in their spacecraft, because the engineers were worried about the added weight and increased danger of depressurization. It might have been ok if they at least had some sort of debris shield like the Cupola on the ISS has, but I couldn't see any. Alright, rant's over. Aside from those things, the movie was fairly good, it had nice effects, some good science, and stayed pretty true to the book. Good choice of actors, good acting, the jokes made me laugh even though I had already read them in the book. Good job, Ridley Scott.

I started through the Germany tech tree the other day, and I just unlocked the second He-112, the one with the giant cannon o' death in the nose. Holy crap, I feel like I'm God or something passing judgement on all the little puny baby planes with their little baby guns! It only takes like one or two hits from my cannon and they melt away!! Adrenaline highs all around!!! Woooo!!! But then I get shot down by a puny plane. No more soul reaping...

Well, it certainly is a Dragon V1, but is it really stockalike? Alright, I'll check over there again.
