[1.2.2] Stock Part Revamp, Update 1.9.6. Released Source Files!
klgraham1013 replied to Ven's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Anyone have a Firespitter mesh switch patch for the tank butts, similar to the B9 patch? I'm trying to limit similar mods, and Firespitter is already handling my fuel switching. Any help is appreciated. -
Downgrade from 1.4 to 1.3.0

Protip right here. Definitely done this quiet a bit since 1.4 dropped the bomb. -
Update Enhanced Edition To 1.4!

Be careful what you ask for. -
That's no moon?

There were alternatives. Finishing the game with 1.3.3. Not updating the engine again. Not worrying about releasing before Take Two 's fiscal year ends. Actually doing QA. Squad put themselves in this position. No need for excuses. All we can do is hope that the next six month long surgery gets us back to where we were last version.

This was the in house title for 1.4 before they decided on Away With Words Mk2.

DLC Idea: Universe Editor
klgraham1013 replied to Red Thought's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The same explanation for their use of random, nonsense contracts as the main gameplay loop of career mode. The same reason the tech tree has areas that make no sense. The same reason tank ratios weren't standardized across the board until recently. The same reason certain GUI elements are just randomly floating in the editor scenes, and aren't integrated into the overall UI. The explanation is design that wasn't thought out. I actually don't have much issue with the stock solar system besides the scale, but that doesn't mean everything about it was considered and thought out for a reason. -
Having random, occasionally nonsensical, side quests be the main gameplay loop of career mode was a bizarre decision, but here we are. Nothing surprises me with KSP at this point.

I don't know. There's been a few bugs in the 1.4 era that should have been noticeable by playing the game for 5 minutes. Maybe they were considered known shippable.
-
Not everyone. I was hoping for a contract creator as well.

I wonder if there's a "Revert to 1.3.1" button over at the Squad offices.

DLC Idea: Universe Editor
klgraham1013 replied to Red Thought's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I was really hoping 1.3.1 would be the last. Possibly minor patches for DLC, but nothing mod breaking. ...but here we are, and most players and modders have moved on to a buggier version because inertia. Basically this. I think it's a good idea. A good UI would make it a great idea. [citation needed] Kopernicus doesn't offer an easy to use graphical UI. Yeah. Because everything in the game was well thought out and is there for a reason. #jokes They are in Procedural Fairings. -
You had a modem in the 80s? I was mostly a console gamer until the 2000s. Back when you got what was on the disk and dealt with the consequences.
-
...in the past decade.

As per usual. A modder made me forget about one of the few problems with 1.3.1. World Stabilizer helps with the bouncing on load.

Stock Game not very fun without Delta-V & TWR readout
klgraham1013 replied to Kobymaru's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Yeah. I've said it before. Everyone has fun differently. Some people find it legitimately fun to do math problems. I know someone like that in real life. I enjoy solving a Rubik's cube while watching documentaries. To assume everyone has fun the same as you (not you, the other guy) is shortsighted. At least I haven't seen the fallacy of the fun vs realism sliding scale on this forum recently. -
What was the best explosion that you ever encountered?
klgraham1013 replied to 322997am's topic in KSP1 Discussion
When I was in Kosovo, we detonated a bunch of confiscated ammunition. It was glorious. -
To be fair to Squad. Most game companies don't communicate at all. At least Squad does a little, if not as much as they used to.

Stock Game not very fun without Delta-V & TWR readout
klgraham1013 replied to Kobymaru's topic in KSP1 Discussion
What you do have in real life is hundreds of people working for the companies that make said rockets. I am but one man on the lonely road to discovering his shmelta vees. -

Spot on, my friend.
