  1. You two actually thought you had to do anything to accept a legally binding contract? That's cute. By simply using this forum, you've agreed! Seems reasonable, right?
  2. Today was the first day of updating and finalizing my 1.3.1 mod collection. Let's see how the 1.4 hotfix pans out and then I might upgrade.
  3. Yes, but I don't believe they're plug and play. You need to go into the settings and set them up. There used to be a bug where even unplugging the controller would erase your settings. Not sure about 1.3.1, as I haven't used the functionality in some time. They also don't use the new console control scheme.
  4. Asking Squad to communicate... I chuckled a little.
  5. They set a date. It's not their fault you bought it after that date.
  6. I remember when it became the official mod repository, but I'm to lazy to search for an official statement. To be honest I always forget it exists. SpaceDock or bust.
  7. I know. What sort of contract has negotiations involved? No. I don't expect anything to change. No. I won't stop KSP. ...but, as said earlier, something being common practice doesn't make it a good practice. As long as game companies keep using these draconian, one-sided contracts, I will continue to be my snarky self about it.
  8. If they could go ahead and private message everyone else, that'd be fantastic.
  9. I wonder what protection the legal department is trying to provide by limiting installs to one. Seems more like economic protection over IP protection. My problem is, it's always about ...and never the consumer's rights.
  10. Always been my biggest problem with EULAs. Words to live by.
  11. Never liked those sayings, because usually the things being compared do actually have similarities. Your point is taken though. As I said, it's all about how and what you do with your micro-transactions.
  12. So, what about EJ_SA making money on Twitch playing KSP? I doubt they'll seriously go after him, but the vague nature of such things does little but question their overreaching necessity. There was a time before EULAs and everyone managed to survive then. Is it really, actually necessary for them to reach so far?
  13. That's how EULAs work. You accept them without even knowing it.
  14. One week. No response. No surprise.
  15. Not an excuse. If so many players know about it, surely Squad's internal QA does. We are not Squad's unpaid bug-tracking minions. That's typically the job of the game company itself. Maybe this comes off as to harsh, but I'm tired of hearing that Squad might not know about something even though it's all over the official community forums. They hired a community manager. Surely, that person is aware of the bigger conversations going on in the community.
  16. Consider this. I buy a different colored tone knob for my guitar. It's a micro-transaction that changes the appearance of my guitar. Micro-transactions are everywhere in everyday life. Has this sort of thing killed the guitar industry? No. (side note: being tied to tradition is killing it) Micro-transactions are everywhere in real life. If done right, they can give the user a huge amount of customization. They aren't inherently evil. It's all about what you do with them.
  17. At one point there was TrackIR support in the settings but I'm not sure it ever actually worked.
  18. ...what will happen? Honestly, this type of EULA has been in the gaming industry for a long time, and until it hurts someone's pocket book, they'll only get more draconian. Perhaps they're even hoping with enough silence this will all be forgotten.
  19. What I find to be a "difficult feature" is asking the player to guess what they're doing wrong over and over until they stumble across the answer or watch a Scott Manley video.
  20. Science based games? Stationeers is looking promising, but it's early access still. Buy at your own risk.
  21. Let's be fair, my dV readouts are right 90% or more of the time. That's better than what we have now. Which is 0% of the time.
