  1. One of the first things every creator should learn is to "kill your darlings." No matter how much you love something you've created, no matter how much you think it's a great idea, if it's not working, throw it away. Preferably in a garbage fire. It's been clear for a very long time that these original concepts, which can be seen to have a certain merit hypothetically, just don't actually work in this type of game. That Squad holds on to certain ideas so tightly (the above, career mode) when core parts of them clearly aren't working, is just baffling to me. I'm a musician. This is one of the first rules of writing I learned.
  2. Kids and their lack of patience these days. Back in my day, we didn't have cell phones and fidget spinners. We had to sit in the back of the car staring out the window for hours. We played games like "count the red cars" and "who can make dad turn the car around first?" Also, this would be solved if Squad would implement actual mission planning tools like Alarm Clock and Transfer Planner. Since they won't, get off my lawn.
  3. Sure it is. We just all accept it now. There was a time before all this nonsense after all. I'll just continue my life with a perpetual eye roll knowing that it's only going to get worse and hope it never actually affects me.
  4. "Someone will get upset" is a defense used far to often these days.
  5. TLDR: Any changes benefit the company and not the consumer. That's usually how these things work.
  6. ...and I would want my game, movie, music creator to strive to be the best they can in all areas. There are to many examples of games, even from small teams, that accomplish both amazing gameplay and art to think we can only have one at the expense of the other.
  7. ...but...what if...you could have both!?
  8. If only there was a way to have good gameplay...and good art...in the same game.
  9. Nah. I was thinking that any backlash from "canceling" a non-existent feature would last only a few weeks at most. Sure, some people would stay unreasonably upset, but that's nothing compared to having a broken console port for, what, a year and a half?
  10. Eh, we've already had the console port. The PR couldn't be much worse than that.
  11. Since forever. It's caused by the way they make planets. I believe the problems been better or worse depending the version, but I could be wrong. I don't think there's a solution besides making all the poles flat maybe?
  12. There was a suggestion about adding Hold Horizon to the SAS on here. I think, as far as "auto-pilot" goes, this is fairly equivalent to the already stock Hold Prograde and what not. ...and yes, these things should be stock, but they probably won't be. My hope died a long time ago.
  13. True. Though, at this point, fixing your reputation may be just as valuable as the bug squashing. It's really a catch 22.
  14. December 30th, 2012. The world did not end that year. That is the year the world began.
  15. You can place a collection of files into the GameData folder and make the game better.
  16. There's a pinned topic for this very thing. Enjoy the nostalgia.
  17. It's more a matter of Windows needing more and more with each version, but yeah, I'd recommend 4gb at minimum for anything these days. How much does stock KSP actually use? I haven't played stock in some time.
