  1. You only need 1 intake per engine all the other intakes are slowing you down, especially the radial ones at high speed/altitude
  2. I am not sure if dropbox images will work that way, usually we upload to imgur.com and then get the direct link for an image and then use the 'Insert other media' button in the bottom of the edit box.
  3. set the angle snap to none before placing your wheels with mirrored symmetry
  4. 1700 parts! are you going for a record? I like all of it.
  5. Just paste in the video URL, then hit enter, the video should appear
  6. Haha, I would have liked to have been watching when my Mining Rig hit the water, it tilts alarmingly before righting itself, the first few dozen attempts reminded me of that Monty Python bit "People said I was crazy to build a castle in the swamp, but I built it anyway and it sank into the swamp, so I built another, it caught fire, fell over and sank in the swamp, but the third one my boy"
  7. I really like this, nice and neat. I would have made an open cockpit for it, but it's very nice without.
  8. Love the tilt shift on the photos, I need something like that to land on my mining rig (thats about all there is space for).
  9. I had thought about it, but never got around to it, until the spider thermometer bearings became available it was always going to be bulky, but I would probably use airbrakes to move the wings, maybe have them docked in the spread position for reliable high g manoeuvring, then swept and undocked for sprints.
  10. Sorry for the delay replying, I did a bit of research and the issue seems to be colliders, but I don't now think that Take Command is at fault. Someone else mentioned it once, and I admit I just accepted it. The problem seems to stem from seating a Kerbal in a command seat, it does something wonky to wheel colliders. So on a craft with no Kerbals when separating a part balanced on wheels against the main part it works correctly. Put a command seat somewhere and seat a Kerbal and then suddenly the wheel colliders are sinking through. it does this regardless of whether you seat the Kerbal using Take Command or EVA them and walk over to the seat.
  11. Wow thanks very much for this, I am indeed looking at it as an opportunity to get into modding and back into programming.
  12. I put a harrier on it, but it's too big, you need a very small helicopter or vtol, also results vary when approaching it in a plane, sometimes it explodes violently and rises hundreds of meters in the air (I actually just missed getting squashed by it once in the Harrier), other times it just disappears, no debris or explosions, just gone. I think it depends on how your physics engine feels that day.
  13. Thanks for that, I got a development environment running on my mac with Monodevelop, now to actually write something other than Hello World
  14. Just need some old timer gambling suits and walk some kerbals around the deck
  15. So I um built this thing, it looks like an Oil Rig, it can mine resources if you are in shallow enough water, you can dock with it (I have only had it not blow up or disappear when coming within 1km a few times) possibly. The Heliport is not really big enough to land anything but a very small Helicopter/VTOL. Yeah, so there it is, makes for a nice photo if scatterer behaves. I may or may not build a contract pack for my mod (MM script) NoFuel, depending if or when I get the actual mod proper built. Where all fuel tanks are defueled on launch and you have to build the infrastructure to fuel your space program, with contracts around prospecting and supplying fuel to a nearby depot. 224 parts Download
  16. I just had nothing to say, it was great I liked it, would not change it
  17. You should be using oms thrusters anyway without the main tank?
  18. Any idea why Take Command forces a reboot of the physics at launch and causes stock bearings to fail (usually wheels clipped around fairing and tanks with a decoupler). If you need an example I can send you a craft file for a tank, if you don't populate the seats it's fine, but if you do the turret falls through the parts below.
  19. No, it's a valid idea, you could achieve the same with a couple of decouplers and a clipped radial chute, it would not show at all then and you could use a normal nose cone, still the fairing is good for going fast apparently. The Big's S wings you are using are for shuttles and are probably heavier and providing much more lift/drag than you need, some smaller deltas should be enough for your craft.
  20. This ship is a bit old and not fixed for the current version, someone fixed the tumble with some clipped in rear elevators for shuttle style craft, maybe try that. You should probably look for more current craft if you want it fixed for you. My shuttle replica works in this version, but quite small compared to the above. Here you go heres the fix from Flakbadger
  21. Not anymore SpaceX and a few others now have throttle able booster engines
