That's a very, ummmm, tunnel-vision sort of view. On this forum, the first question usually asked of someone is which mods they have installed. And, in fact, there are separate topics for modded and unmodded. According to the forum home page, the counts are mostly equal, close enough to be statistically insignificant

Does KSP really have spyware in it?
linuxgurugamer replied to DoctorDavinci's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I'm curious, do you play any other games? If so, have you read the EULA of those games as closely as you think you've read this one? Why are you so paranoid about this game when all other games have essentially the same or similiar EULAs? Did any of you ever consider the possibility that Take-Two told Squad to remove the "phone-home" code? I'm not say they did or didn't, but you all are assuming only one possibility. -

I just checked on a clean install, it isn't there anymore. But, it was there in previous versions. Why are people so upset about it now? Frankly, if you are concerned, you can always block network access to it -

When you first start KSP, you get asked a question about sending info back to Squad. Don't you think that's kind of up front? -

That projectile was flying away from the rocket, it was nowhere near the engines -
except that they never worked right. 4 launches of the N-1, 4 failures. Different causes, but most tied back to the engines

And then we come to the question of which mods to add as stock. What are you disappointed about? You can, but many other people are already finding it a blessing. Why don't you wait until the mods get updated?
-
Really depends on how many mods someone has to rebuild.
-
So, without DLC, what would you suggest that Squad/Take-2 do to make money? It's a given that if there is no money coming in, there won't be any more updates or support Modders won't have too much to worry about, since the DLC really looks like another mod. As long as a mod doesn't touch the DLC code, there won't be anything to worry about. Regarding the community, the problem you mention is already here, in that someone asks the question and the return question is "what mods". There really isn't any difference, and the DLC is cheap enough that I suspect that many if not most people will eventually purchase it.

Well, it's going to be a little bit until I get around to this, 1.4 is going to take time

[WIN]Game Data Switcher - GDS [V1.0.5]

Yes, but given that, and the other bugs that I found, doesn't leave a good impression -

new release, 0.6.8.3: Removed Tourist from selection of available traits -
You may want to do your work with 1.4, it uses a new particle system
-
Over the past few versions this behaviour has been stomped on, to the point that it doesn't happen that much anymore. My comment above was mostly in jest, but I do want to finish this bug fix before starting the 1.4 work. So it may be a couple of weeks before I get fully started on this
-
Comments like this make me want to finish a bug fix on a mod in 1.3.1 BEFORE I start on 1.4

Kerbal Space Program update 1.4 Grand Discussion thread.
linuxgurugamer replied to UomoCapra's topic in KSP1 Discussion
@RoverDude would have a better answer since he has been working on the new release, however, an educated guess here would be that some mods will work, but IMHO all mods should be recompiled for the new version. Safer that way. -

Elaborate, please. Will mods that work for 1.4 need anything to be done for 1.4.1? -

Are you a Lawyer? The agreements or written by lawyers, for lawyers, to be used in court if necessary. I am not a lawyer, I do not pretend to be a lawyer, and I most certainly know that the agreements or written that way because sometime in the past somebody has done everything that is listed in the agreements. The agreements are designed to protect the companies. Keep in mind that if a company started enforcing every provision in every Eula on everybody, they will go out of business because their reputation would spread like wildfire.
